Omg a year ago, my (lovely) ex boyfriend bought me a “knockoff” except it looks NOTHING like an original. Had fake gem eyes and shaggy fur. And a HUGE tail. I had to try so hard not to laugh because he really did put in the effort w/o know what a squishmallow was😂

If you still want to fluff them up, toss them in the dryer. An instagram shop that sell their plushes vacuum sealed says to do a light air tumble in the dryer.

i think the defect on the mushroom is because it's printed-on fabric, and there was a mistake when sewing it. so you can see the black outline of the print and original white fabric when it should be hidden inside
I have a fake and it’s a sloth it look so goofy and nothing like a squish 😂 The brand is “Mushmallows” I got it at a thrift when I had started my obsession- Umm I mean very small collection 😉
I'll happily take a knockoff if it feels the same. The reason I like squishmallows is because of how they feel, that soft material, I don't care about it being a brand.

I've heard of vacuum sealed plushies needing to be thrown in the dryer to fluff back up. Idk if this applies to all of em and if it needs to be run on a cold setting or what idk but maybe that could help

I'm sure by now you've either trashed them... but yes, vacuum sealed stuffies need a good bit to re-fluff. and lots of aggressiveness to speed it along. we get them from time to time and it's usually at least a week of my kids playing with them for the sadness to fully go away. usually within a day they look recognizable at least

I kinda feel like now that I haven't been giving squishmallow enough credit I've always thought that they're kinda simple which they are but maybe that's the appeal. Didn't really realize they had good quality control either. So I added squishmallow strawberry cow and hello kitty to my Amazon list maybe one day I can get them.
Hey sorry if it's weird to reply to a month old comment, but I was scrolling thru & just wanted to toss in my two cents. Becus yes, Squishmallows are very simply designed, but it enables them to have a huge variation! They have things I've never seen plushies of ever & I love that! Have you seen their deep sea animal collection? Now it doesn't work with everything. I've seen some really terrible designs I can't believe were greenlit (including some of the... food & drink category). But I think it's the simplicity & variety that help make SWM so popular. Also, the fact that they're relatively cheap. (5 Below sells 8 inches for abt 6 dollars 👍🏻👍🏻)

I bought the same axolotl with the crown for my birthday. Claimed it was a twelve inch, but it was six inch at the very best. The crown also came detached, you could tell how they tried to stitch it on there manually but it just fell off at some point during delivery. Mine was a much worse quality then that one, though. Shame because I wanted one with that cute crown. But, I have the birthday balloon ones so I’m happy!

i ordered Benny once, i waited a month or so for it to get here and when it finally did, it looked *extremely* accurate but had no tag and too much stuffing. But it’s still one of my favourite squishmallows to this day.

The same thing happened to me to! I wanted to buy a 8 inch Wendy and when I bought it I thought it was a real squishmellow because that was my first (fake) squishmellow and then when I bought my 8 inch Archie it had a squishmellow tag an dit felt way different then I realized it was a fake
I recommend if you get vacuum sealed squish mellows to put them in the dryer for 10 to 15 minutes depending on your dryer to fluff them up

My mum bought me a squishmallow for my birthday. Its a bootleg. I asked for wendy or one of the pokemon ones. It doesnt even try to look like a squishmallow. It just feels like one lmao. Its long and has little feet and swen on hands. Named her Wendigo, she's so pretty in her own unique little way.
Yea for Christmas my dad and brother bought me a FAKE frog squishmallow the same one that was green and out of stock. There was a big hole in it by the eye and it just look nothing like Wendy. It was really weirdly shaped but I still love it and have it. I mean it’s a frog! Mine also came in the little Amazon prime envelope and it was vacuumed sealed too
