  • Coming to visit in less than two weeks! This was very helpful. Suggestions/videos for tourists who want to live like a local? Best grocery, best coffee…etc. Takk!

  • OMG, Marita! Dette var fantastisk!🎉 Loved the style, the content, the smiles, everything!❤ I want to be there right now soooo much! The other reason they only show the Munch Scream works for a short period at a time is because the light exposure is speeding up their deterioration. We might be the last generations to see them in person.😱 We, too, aren’t big museum people, but that was a great one. Another great one was at Akershus - the WW2 Norwegian Resistance Museum, which covers the resistance to Germany’s invasion of Norway. Absolutely fascinating! I already had so much respect for Norway, but that increased it for me. ❤ You’ll have to go back to the opera house at night - it’s stunning! And they have one big wall outside near the top where you can have fun playing with massive shadows. 😊 Thank you for showing Frognerparken, one of my all time favorite places!🥰 Really, everything you showed was like taking a trip down memory lane from last year’s 3 weeks in Oslo. You did such a great job - this is a top notch tourist video! 😁 And it was so great to see you guys again - we’ve missed you! ❤

    • Tuuusen takk, Lisa!! 🥹❤️ Can’t tell you how much that warms my heart! I didn’t even think about that regarding the paintings! Makes sense because they told us not to use the flash because it would damage them! Now I regret not staying to see them all 😅 We’ll have to go back there again soon! Just the view from there alone is incredible! I don’t think I’ve been to the Resistance Museum before, but now I definitely will! I also love learning more about that part of our history! Also didn’t know that about the opera! 😂 We’re almost never down in the city center during night so I have never seen it. We both really want to go see it now though! 😄 Thank you so much again! You made me smile from ear to ear now 😁❤️ Hope you both have a great week! 🤗

  • Before I never had a clear idea what Norway would look like but thanks to your videos I have, and I just love the mostly clear blue skies, the cleaniness, quitness and colours of your city! ❤ I have the idea that the Norwegian folks are happy, polite and down to earth 😊 Your dinner was like half the price of the breakfast but the breakfast was a luxurious experience. Buffets are never good for me since I want EVERYTHING 😂 The sliders, omg, give me those now please 😍 Thank you guys for such an amazing tour of the city. I loved it and have missed you. It is a few weeks ago but I hope Matt has enjoyed his birthday. Have a great week guys and I look forward to your next one! ❤

    • Thank you! 🥹❤️ That makes me so happy to hear! I’m so glad that we get to share our city with you and that we can give you an idea of how it is to live here ☺️ The breakfast was about 10 dollars more than dinner. Maybe it came across wrong in the cards but all the prices were for us both 😆 But yeah, all the meals were amazing! 🤤🙌 Matt had a great birthday! 😁 Thank you again for your lovely comment! ❤️ Have a great week! 🤗❤️

  • Great to see you two again. What a great video. ❤ It reminded me of our explorations in Oslo because we were definitely tourists. There’s a saying that people never explore their own backyard, and I was amazed that you two had never walked to the top of the opera house. Beautiful there at night too. I highly recommend the Resistance Museum at the Akershus Fortress. I wish we had spent more time there. Matt’s waffle looked sad 😢 without sour cream, but those “sliders” at Way Down South make me want to catch the next flight to Norway. 😮🤤 I look forward to more tourist in my own city videos. Especially, T-bahn trips to Sognsvann, Frognerseteren, and Ekeberg Sculpture Park. What a great way to start our week!

We will definitely test out the Resistance Museum as well! Thanks for all the recommendations! We’ll include those in the next one 😁👍 Hope everything is going well with the move! 😄 Have a great week! 🤗

I felt kind of like a tourist myself discovering these things with you - you put so much effort in this video describing it all, it was a pleasure to watch!😁🙌 And the breakfast menue was an absolute DREAM😍😋👌 By the way, I was wondering if the company both you and Matt work in is your own? And do you have other co-workers? Have a good week you two (despite the awful weather😑🙄)!💛

I don’t mind snow but I hate icy sidewalks as I’m always afraid of falling😢

But it’s hard to say how it will be this year 😅 We usually have more ice during January and February. I actually slipped on ice and broke my ankle in January this year 😅 But it shouldn’t be too bad in the city center in December.. hopefully 😅🤞If you decide to come I hope you enjoy your trip! 😁

    @ravisatyanarayana884@ravisatyanarayana8848 ай бұрын
    • Thank you! 😄 I guess it would depend on what weather you like, but personally I would say May or June (maybe also beginning of July). People are generally more happy then also because of spring fever. No joke 😆 We have such a long and cold winter that everyone is more happy in May and June when it's starting to become warm again. Also our national day is 17th of May, so the whole city is partying that day. And there's normally more sunny days in June and beginning of July, or at least have been the past couple of years. If you don't mind the cold though, I would say December is nice as well because of all the Christmas decorations. 😊

    @leef3167@leef31673 ай бұрын
    • Everything that I can think of is open. It's usually no problem getting around, but it depends on the weather. On days when it's very snowy or icy there can be a lot of delays and cancellations on public transport. Especially buses. The tram and the metro will usually be fine. I do not recommend driving in the city center in general 😅 If you're going up to the mountains I would recommend renting a 4x4 car 😊

    • My advice is to stay away from hotel breakfasts, if they are not included in the accommodation. Instead, visit bakeries and other small cafes that serve breakfast menus at far cheaper prices. Spor av Nord, one example, breakfast buffet NOK 250.

  • It's a palace, not a castle.

    @peterc.1618@peterc.16188 ай бұрын
    • Haha true, I guess it would be called palace in English. The name for it in Norwegian is the Norwegian word for castle

      @MaritaKvam@MaritaKvam8 ай бұрын
    • @@MaritaKvam A castle is a fortified building or set of buildings so we have Buckingham Palace but Windsor Castle, both are royal residences but only the latter is fortified. Like many visitors to Oslo I was surprised that I could walk right up to the palace walls.

      @peterc.1618@peterc.16188 ай бұрын
    • Yeah I know, the correct English term here is palace. What I meant is we don’t have that distinction in Norwegian. Both would be called the Norwegian word for castle - «slott». 😅 But yeah, luckily our Royal family doesn’t have many enemies so they don’t have to secure it that much 😄

      @MaritaKvam@MaritaKvam8 ай бұрын
