  • Khabib’s speech after the fight, translation from Russian: “and now for my fans, and it would not be quite right to say ‘to my fans from Russia’, so let’s say ‘to all Russian speakers’, thank you so much, when I started all of this in 2008, and when I signed up for UFC and had the first fight in 2012, many didn’t believe in me, many thought it would be impossible. I’m a simple guy from a regular village in the mountain of Dagestan, who came over here. Just yesterday my brother told me: ‘according to Google, you’re the most discussed person on the planet’, I simply couldn’t believe it, because if you can imagine, I never had any of this on my mind, it was just my father and I dreaming of becoming a champion one day. I could never have imagined so much could happen to me. If you have parents, be close to them, and that’s it. I have only one parent left, my mother. I would like to dedicate more time to her”.

Plus it’s the culture, they still have that sense of family out there in the east, unfortunately, we’re losing that sense of family and unity we once had over here in the west. There’s pros and cons to both sides and that’s certainly a pro to that side, they still hold their parents to high regard because their parents deserve that.

  • Sending a prayer to Khabib and his family. Very moved by who he is. Was chocked up watching him weep for his father after the fight. He was showing us that tenderness is part of strength and he embodies greatness in and out of the ring like Ali did. Have a feeling that we will see Khabib step deeper into the role of helping the human family overcome its differences and divisions that come from listening and acting on the shallow impulses of the discriminating mind. The great teachers of humanity show us that we are so much MORE than our shallow thinking. Think Khabib's true strength was his ability to be still n relaxed and rooted in a deeper KNOWLEDGE of himself in full chaos of a fight. He brought his faith.. his father... the mountains and the heart of his culture into each moment inside the cage and this in my opinion is why no one could break him. We love you Khabib and we are proud and honored to bare witness to your journey and feel better and more fuller versions of ourselves for having seen it! Alhamdulillah!

He has used the same technique all his life in his fights, in a precise, insistent and aggressive way that no one has ever resisted. He never let himself be pressured, and he never allowed striking blows on him. Really a big Champion.

  • I'm very impressed...i have kept humility a major part of this encounter...i had all respect ...admiration ...support and humility as a long time fan of this sport....i went as a group for the fight between him and McGregor and was a huge Connor fan but also a very respectful fan of khabib also....mostly because of the aspect of humility he incorporated from his entire approach to every match he was involved in...his dedication ...humility...faith and state of mind has been his chariot he has ridden upon his entire career...i have the utmost respect for this man and his ideology...i ....being such a long time fan purposely withheld my opinion for the most part because I just appreciate the power of kabobs mental focus and understood that the hype for this encounter needed a subjective attitude from all fans to cause this match to live up to its true potential...it was so complex a situation when factoring in status ...experience...ratings... Socioeconomic position...core belief...and basically complete legitimacy to oneself like we as fans have never seen....i gave Justin all the support and benifit a warrior could ever expect from a true organic lover of real ...legitimate ...advocate of competition to award the honour of truly the best a warrior can be....i was not the consummate advocate of one fighter over the other between these two...rather I believed that khabib and a portion of his thought process and mastery of his abilities was operating in a different reality than anyone he would or could ever face....i take nothing away from Justin's effort and applaud his attempt both physical and mental...as he is a strong being in many aspects he was beaten today from a position that wasn't necessarily the physical matchup....but was overwhelmed by a force that was operating in more ways than he was able to defend....i think this fight answers so many questions ....ones that were fun to entertain in the moment....but questions that most people knew deep down that there's a force that drives khabib that transcends training and physicality

    • yeah everyone has been saying khabib is lucky to have father like abdulmanap but do we have ever ask ourselve that "am I a good father like abdulmanap" or "am i a good son/daughter like khabib". abdulmanap is good father and khabib is good son that obey and listen what his father told him.
