If JxmyHighroller doesn’t make this video, then I will. In today’s video I present the most compelling statistics on what makes an NBA championship team. From expanding on theJK’s work I have managed to craft a model that has managed to predict the 8 out of the last 10 NBA champions correctly, so lets see if we can get this right this time. Shoutout to JxmyHighroller for the inspiration.

You would think that with this quality, this channel would have over 100k subs, great job!
Appreciate it.
WHAAAATTTT. I thought it was 778k subs when I first see it, then realise it's only 778 subs when I see this comment. KZhead algorithm has finally made its use.
@@videogamersEU that’s a you problem, I could hear it perfectly fine
@@YogSothmake a better video, i want to see you try
I completely agree, it's going to be Denver vs Boston and I favor Denver
How is Murray?
@@christrystfine
@@Bryce433Glad to hear! Let's go.
@@Bryce433I reckon if he'd been healthy all these years they'd already have at least 2 rings.
This is the most obvious answer, come on now
this is crazy quality for a video. im an aspiring data scientist and you might just have inspired my last run to finish this program predicting the 2025 nba champions, insane content. biggest props 🐐
Finish strong! I was accepted to med school with a 3.92 gpa early my senior year... then decided to not go to class and got a lot of B's. Instead of graduating summa CUM LATTE (cum latte: gross), i graduated with the silver prize. I didn't care for about 5-10 years, but now it bothers me a lot. I still got exactly where I wanted to go and have a great life, but some things u can't but. Finish strong.
good video for sure but a lot of cherrypicking (imo)
Less than 500 subs? Life is unfair, keep up the good work
Let me change that... by 1
Look like he has almost doubled subs in last two days. This vid mus be blowing up.
For the past decade, the NBA champion was more or less clear-cut. But this year, I have no freaking idea
Knicks will give the East hell. Denver will do a number on the West. Clippers are the only chance to knock off Denver.
Clippers fucking suck dude lmao you are talking about a retirement home
@@michaelhutchings8599 But first they have to deal with Dallas, and that will be a tall order without Kawhi in the first game or two.
@@HunkyPizzademolishing Mavs right now
You thought Warriors would win 2 years ago? Stop lying
The biggest thing i noticed watching the 2023 playoffs that seemingly nobody else did, the Nuggets don't make mistakes. They don't have bad games. Every other team had bad games, notably the Celtics and the 76ers, but the Nuggets didn't have a single one. There is efficiency, and then there's the Nuggets machine efficiency.
love love the outro music bro great work!!!!
Loved the video and quality of reasearch! one small complain maybe i am not the only one, but the voice recording sounds with excesive low frequencies making it hard to listen at times, feels like deacreasing those a bit or raising the highs would be much clearer. Hope you can consider it and if im correct fix it cause im subscribing and waiting for more videos. Cheers!
Noted
it will be the Nuggets. Every Eventually NBA champion has a series in which it goes to 6 or 7 games of adversity that they overcome and use that momentum to win the chip.
Yea, Nuggets got a tough road ahead of them. While Boston on the other hand can just walk right in to the finals.
KD warriors?
As somone who had the Nuggets winning last year, the Timberwolves have it this year
@@karlliebknecht2987lol they had a game 7 with James harden houston
Fire 🔥 keep it up! Super high quality video and you’ll get lots of subscribers one day. I clicked because I love jxmyhxrollers video
Great video! If you improve mic quality im sure that this channel will blow up
Very nice job, mate! Trully great content
fantastic content! hope the algorithm pushes you!
I’m subscribing. This high quality video with this low amount of subscribers is crazy. Great video keeps it up. …… Go OKC!
You should try PCA for dimension reduction and LASSO as good secondary model after you reduce and select your dimensions with PCA. Ridge is awesome for highly correlated data, as I assume the dataset used would exhibit high correlation. Probably why Ridge performed the best. I think that combination might bring down your MSE quite a bit, but that is total speculation as it would be cool to see what you come up with, if you try it! Also, you NEED to (no you don’t) throw your MSE’s in next time! I’d be curious of all the model parameters and performance.
great vid. sad u don’t have a ton of views it’s very well made. keep it up👍
wow what a great video pls more with this statistics about the brackets
Making a Machine Learning model for this is toughhhhh, and ik from being a computer engineering major. well done sir!
Great video with great editing, I thought you had 100k!
Appreciate it sir.
Yups finally found a good channel with analytics for the playoffs. Keep it up man.
Great video and I’m glad to be here before you blow up
I read your article, as well as your article on how you fed the algorithms and AI with data (and which sets of data were particularily predictive). Maybe (hopefully) in the offseason you can run a series with the following: - use the same process for each decade of nba championships - for the years that the data DID NOT predict the winner (or get the final 4 teams particularity correct) you can examine why those seasons/teams beat the data. - the human story that could be captivating is how a team can beat the data/norm. - this is how you can beat that jimmy guy who you thinks makes better utube videos than you! Thanks! This was cool!
Here before 1000 subscribers… Chief hight quality content and great analysis
Much appreciated.
You won a viewer from Italy too, great content!
Great stuff; I subbed. Can I ask what the idea was to run the bookies' cut before applying the last performance based cut?
Thanks. Just to see how other the odds makers are valuing the teams as a whole, was the idea.
If Jamal Murray isn't 100%, the Nuggets won't win.
he's looking preeeeety good if u ask me (ok dont look first half game 2 lmao)
Well he hasn't been 100% at all in the Lakers series, and they're up 3-1 so we'll see.
Really well put together video can really see the jxmmy influence on the video. One thing I was wondering though, the method of current or past MVP on the team does that mean at the time of the championship or ever as in theory jason tatum or SGA could be a future MVP as there career hasn’t finished
Yes at the time of the championship. So the 2015 Warriors meet the rule because Curry won the MVP that year.
great point youre making, but Dallas lately probably exceed these stats too, for example, if you could do projected season based on the last 15 games thAT they were killing it, you would probably see it differently.
Good point. That would interesting to see. Dallas was different after trades.
Also, they don't have an official MVP, but they surely do have a MVP caliber player.
good content, keep it up 👍 gonna blow up in no time
That was quality content I fucking love numbers when it comes to basketball good stuff brother ☝
Appreciate you.
This is quality content. Get ready for this guy to blow up in the NBA KZhead scene!
Great content
Here, take my sub, man, great vid!
This was such a great video. If you want to start making more videos, i hope you find a lot of success in it! I'm subscribing and going to keep an eye out.
Great video. Great dedication. Lets get this channel to 10K subs y'all
Subbed!! Can't wait for a Denver vs Boston match... Nuggets for the back 2 back!!
as a nuggets fan, I like this prediction.
Bro I thought this was a bigger channel, you are underrated bro!
Appreciate you.
Was utterly astounded when I checked the sub count, excellent video, keep it up!
Thank you sir.
Who’s here after Timberwolves took Denver’s heart in game 7?
🙋♂️
No way I was looking at your article as a reference to make my own model
this deserves a sub please do more vids like this
Really good video bro
Thanks brotha.
There is one variable that might be getting overlooked this year in predicting an nba champion, and that’s defense. Because the number 1 defensive team in the nba has a bigger gap between the number 2 team in the nba, than the number 2 team and the number 10 team. And that’s the Minnesota Timberwolves. They aren’t just good defensively. They are historically good.
and that's holding up really well in game 1
@@KingIsAQT Defense wins championships. We'll see if they can out last Denver.
@@noyou113 well said, I like jokic but I’m really rooting for this antman as the new face narrative.

Amazing Video Brother!!!!
as a nuggets fan, hopefully this videos prediciton comes out true 😭 amazing video bro, super underrated
Imma drop a sub. This was a dope video
Great video!!
what a video, 1k subs is crazy...
Very good video keep it ip
I cant imagine that match up going less than 7 games. It’ll be a hell of a series if we get to see them face off for the chip
I hope they matchup. It will be so good.
My boy Jimmy down. The Basketball Gods are looking like a monkey paw right now
awesome vid
Died at Bill Russell's buckets 😂
Nice vid!
Great video. However I think a good heuristic is if your results dramatically disagree with Vegas odds (who have Celtics as overwhelming favorites at +120 vs Nuggets at +280 and Thunder all the way down at +1400), it's worth at least being suspicious of the methodology or data.
You should include average age, previous playoff experience and find a way to quantify team cohesion (how long a team has played together and how well they do.). OKC are too young to seriously be taken in the final 3
Great video
I don’t understand the low views and subs… this guy should have 500k minimum based on the quality! You just gained 1 new subscriber.
if this is a jinx im coming back! jk i'll be back either way awesome video keep up the good work
I think the reason he didn't do one this year is because its too obvious who the numbers would point to. In 2022 especially it was really surprising. At this point it would seem repetitive if he said Boston yet again. As a Celtic fan i really hope this means we won't get the Jimmy curse lmao
Amazing Video ❤🏀
Appreciate you.
you just got another sub.
good namedrop on the video title lol. solid reason others and i probably clicked
What metrics skewed the final results the most for each 3 teams?
Yea great question. Theres a chart on my article that shows the most impactful stats for the model. In short top 3 conference, over600 rec, total team mvp votes, total team defensive, and defensive player of year shares were the most impactful.
got my follow 👏🏼
Good video, I am predicting the wolves to beat the nuggets though
The thumbnail is ABSOLUTE FACTS!, DENVER ARE MOST DEFINITELY GOING BACK TO BACK!
great video and will be back
AGED LIKE MILK LMAOO. I hate nuggets fans
Boston, Mavs, Wolves and Pacers are all that’s left lol
Got real close to throwing all your math out the window and picking the Celtics, would have been real embarrassing. But actually came out with a super solid pick, good numbers getting run, and I’m betting it’ll pay off
Nice jinx
Can you go into further detail about the metric you used? It seems to me the bucks would have a much higher rating if I’m understanding correctly. MVP share - Giannis has won 2 and finished top 3 in the last 5 seasons, that would make him probably top 2 in that category. He’s also averaged at or near 30 ppg in every of those seasons. Additionally, a guy like brook Lopez probably has a decent share considering he finished top 2 in dpoy last year and has been a consistent top 50 player in the nba. Khris Middleton has been a multi-year allstar, dame has been a superstar and even averaged 32 last year and has multiple top 10 mvp finishes. They also are likely one of the most playoff-experienced teams in the nba. So I must be not understanding correctly otherwise it would seem the bucks would certainly be top 8
Good question. The exact metric used for the model is a team stat called "team_rating_custom" which averages the "player_rating_custom" stats for all the entire team. Basically the "team_rating_custom" stat that I made weight mostly is SRS adjusted team point differential. So yes star power (award shares and playoff experience) is included but not weighted as much as you think.
Only question is why are the list of champions going backwards, like just kinda weird to have a timeline that goes right to left, with time going backwards the further along you go
idk
Great video. Jimmy probs didn’t make one because he knew he’d end up saying Celtics again 😂
Looking at the title gives me 2001 wcw vibes
You need more subs
Go Joker, go Nugs!
I was waiting for "Todays video is sponsored by draftkings..."
The quality of this video is insane
Thank you.
The Nuggets and Celtics effectively being in a coin flip for who wins it seems spot on.
nice one
“From injuries …to refs” (shows a clip of Bron flopping) 😂😂😭😭
Skap is the best NBA content creator on youtube. shoutouts to uncut hoops too
microphone tickling my eardrums but great video man
You know LeJxmy aint making this video 😂😂
You put all this work building a really cool model which came to the obvious conclusion that the Nuggets and Celtics are the main contenders.
👍
im sorry but i dont think it could predict the 2016 champions... how can you predict a series changing injury???
Hold up I thought he had 100K+ with this vid NOT EVEN 1K IS CRAZY My old channel had almost 900 and was no where near this level

Timberwolves looking good
Impressive, most impressive. High Quality. High Standards. Highly Understandable. Highly Enjoyable.
interesting but I'm not confident in this as so many things can happen
"GOAT" is the best channel now

really good vid but please mix mic better it sounds rlly loud and harsh
Thanks. Will do. Forgot a setting to add on it.
Let’s see in a few days after they get swept lol
Joker is the greatest player I’ve ever seen. But the Celtics have way more depth this year. Losing Bruce Brown hurt nuggs badly.
