I feel terrible guiding moths through Eden and then having to leave them at the No Return door. How can people bully them? How do you expect to meet nice players when you’re not nice to them when they start out? We were all moths once. There’s no shame in being new, it just means everything is exciting to them. You shouldn’t bully moths for not knowing everything in the game, you should teach them and let them explore the game themselves.
Amen! Fuck I'm still a moth transitioning to a semi experienced player and I love helping younger moths when I can. It's satisfying to lead them to new things! I know I personally enjoy it when I run into veterans, just went through eden my second time (first on my switch) and had been awhile since I touched the game and had a vet accompany me when everyone else ditched me

Went through 2 more runs since the post, both helping moths (one run was my friend who hadn't done eden before) and both got them close to the max candles they could get, tho my friend was a little short because he wouldn't stop being passive in the later parts of sacrifice and kept going left side to right and wasted a bit of light (they ended up throwing) but still got..roughly 8 candles. The other moth got near 10 I believe. I'm...still struggling to help through battlefield but I can say I've shown them how to hold their own and couldn't be anymore prouder! 💯 hope ya one day grow your wings and get to lead the next generation of moths through their eden run!

That moth was me. I remember asking around for help because when I got here and I was so confused. I finally got these two veteran skykids to guide me but instead they just used me as a krill toy, it was super scary. When you came and saved me and after we talked I decided not to drop the game and now I've made many friends and have made many fond memories here, thank you for helping out ♥

i come to this part of the wasteland occasionally to help protect other people from Krills or just distract the Krills in general. (Im always standing by the golden boi near the campfire), sad to see someone abandon this poor moth there! Edit 6/8: I didn't expect to get this much likes (or any for that matter)??? I think the “all players are real people” warning should still be in the game intro like it was in the beta version of sky. People seem to forget it.
When I was still a moth, I met this stranger, she befriend me then lead me through wasteland, she guide me to find winged lights, spirits, and candles. When we got caught by Krills she would immediately let go of me then distract the Krill, sadly she never played again after like, 2 or 3 months later. It's sad to see there's still people like this who ditch moths at GW.

Just last night I was in eden with a friend and we saw someone struggling at the beginning part. Took a closer look to help and they were CAPELESS. We helped them as much as we could, but after a while they ran off and we couldn't find them. Every like = one prayer
At first I thought that maybe it was a pro playing an alt for some kind of a challenge, but they seemed to be very confused about what was happening so idk

I hate leading moths through eden. Not cus they're a pain, but for the pain i feel when leading them through the final area. Especially through the final section where you have to keep moving, hearing their calls after getting separated as i move foward dying. Its like an anime ending that makes me cry everytime

I only started playing during the Aurora concert and my first trip to Wasteland I had the camera angled away and missed that first krill killing the manta. So I saw this cool floating thing and went "ooooo what that" and *flew directly towards it.* Once the light turned red I knew I messed up and there were a bunch of honks offscreen, but I was too slow and it got me. Thankfully the honks were veteren players who saw the whole thing and rescued me. I was so grateful that now I try to help out anyone who looks lost or has the hands over them. I can't imagine being so cruel as to dump someone there with no warning.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one who honks repeatedly to communicate in the game (be it excitement, danger, sadness...)
same- i started playing like- 2 dys before season of aurora-
3 years back when i first entered wasteland with a group of veterans i got really fascinated by the krills flying around so I let go their hands and flew straight towards one of the krills i lost so many wings and i learnt my lesson ur experience was similar to mine lol

How nice.. I'm a moth, and while I was struggling in this area, I saw some players def saw me struggling, dying. But nobody helped me. I lost my wings multiple times, and had to bulldoze my way through, alone, through sheer willpower. But man, did I felt like crying.

I did a social experiment by alt account, according to several gameplay as a beginner: Results: Out of 294 players I’ve interacted with and are pairs, at 28 will lead you into dangerous situations, and 21 will actually help out with basic and intermediate stuff, and 29 will ignore you. Out of 294 players I’ve interacted with and are in groups (4 and above), 15 will lead you into bizarre places that you cannot enter due to low quest and constellation requirements, 11 will leave you mid-game, 29 will ignore you. Out of 294 players I’ve interacted with and are solo veterans, 35 will help you (until eye of eden usually), 27 will troll, 16 will help with quest and candle collection, 18 will ignore you. Out of 294 players I’ve interacted with and are new players, 24 are somewhat clueless, 15 will do their own thing and will drag you around, 10 are actually considered experienced, 16 will ignore you. I cant say these are as accurate as my confidence in math but it’s what me and my veteran friend did for 2 years (I’ve only been playing for a month and my veteran friend was the one to actually start such an experiment)
I met many rude moths but I never dreamed of leaving them alone in eden or in the golden Wasteland to have a laugh. I know how scary those areas are because when I was a beginner I was traumatized and they still scare me today. Thanks for helping the moff

I was an assembly moth, and I had this happen to me as well. Vets would take me to graveyard and ditch me a lot of times when I thought they were helping. It made me frustrated, and made me lose trust and intrest in the game. When I finally unlocked Eden I got scared of it, and a vet yet again tormented me by throwing me into the rocks. I quit for like 6 months, I don't regret coming back as I've made a lot of friends. Please don't actually bully moths, there's jokingly saying stuff, but don't actually do it.

Shout out to my uber. Because of them, I don't even know that forest and wasteland could kill you. That's how skillful in avoiding krills they are.

being a moth is tough, i'm prone to getting lost. i thought they were npc so i went apk only to return and find out my first ever veteran friend waited and protected me. on my second day of playing another veteran found me when i got lost and took me to eden. they said I'll die and i was confused cause why? they said they're my mom now. they're kind and help me a lot. and when i went to eden alone, i ran into another moth and we helped each other out then they dissapered. but it's all good.

Yea normally i don't friend moths unless they friend me first cuz ive already got all these moths in my constellation that never came back :,) But if i notice a player that doesnt follow the usual cr route in wasteland, ik its def a moth so i just fly over to light em and bring them to the end of wasteland. I usually leave my moths friends in the krill place that so they can learn how to avoid them by themselves, but I usually give them tips on what to do and swoop in to distract the krill if they get caught. I’d never do it for entertainment though.

My first solo BLIND waste run was so terrifying. I had no idea what that blue light was and why it turns red, but somehow I managed without getting Krilled. Still it was such a scary experience. I would be so mad if anyone intentionally left clueless me alone to die.
Hi, im a moth, and this exactly happened to me yesterday A guy told me to touch a krill's tail, so i did it... I was hiding for 1 hour and a half untill another olayer came by and helped me I love sky, i love its peolpe and comunity, but dont abandon me in hell please

The other day, for the Pleaful Parent daily quest, a poor moth was having so much trouble, so I popped a krill repellant every minute and lead them straight through, leading the spirit without stopping. I felt like a badass lmao

But they aren't entitled to guide you through the end because going to the end area means that they will lose wings too, and it's exhausting to constantly collect it all over again, some people just don't wanna go to the end point but wants to help. It's understandable why they won't go there, it's not mean. It's not like they purposely left you on a dangerous rocky area or anything lolz, but that might be a little shocking for you at first so i understand hehe

I found someone who were a moth like me and this guy helped us, tho don't think he was a veteran, but had been through it before as he lead us threw the normal path and then we all helped each other to get through it.
I was left in Golden wasteland by a vet once, they literally watched me get krilled before teleporting away

As a person who played sky for about a year now I have never witnessed a bad player so I was surprised from what the moth had said

This happened to me 4,5 days ago when i first install this game. While I was collecting spirit and wings, there are some spot that i cannot reach due to not enough wings, then there is a player come to me and help me to get those wings, im really happy and appreciate it, and I tried to be friend with them and they said that we can exchange candles, after that they lead me to other place to help me collect wings but they done the same things as the video, I didn't expected that to be happen. They left me at eden :(. I was so scared and then i got hit by a rock, i tried to reach out and come close to them but they just teleport back. Honestly, i almost give up on this game but luckily there is someone who kind enough to help me and even put table out and say "if i miss your spirit or wings just honk aggressively" at that time I was really emotional to their kindness. Not all old player is bad but some of them make vets looks terrible in moth's eyes.
It is possible that they didn't teleport away on purpose. Sometimes the game crashes or a server split happens, and even if you're friends you can't get back into the server because it's full. I hope that was the case and that player didn't abandon you deliberately. 😟
Please be nice to Moths. Take them on little adventures and a tour of the world.

i knew the sky fandom was wholesome but i never anticipated it being THIS wholesome i usually play sky with people i know [more often my s/o or best friend, the latter being a vet] i was playing with my friend who saw me wandering the wasteland and she let me hop on her back to atleast help guide me what i wasnt prepared for was her accidentally sending a krill towards us and having it smack the light right off me [i was still somewhat of a moth; 4 stars/wedges] i didnt lose any, thankfully, as we both fell in close range but she was so apologetic about it 😭😭😭 we still play and we're going to go into eden together. but im still scared of GW to this day, it genuinely terrifies me

This is why I love sky, almost everyone is so nice and considerate. People will friend you in eden just to hold your hand and help you through, or they help you after you get krilled. You can practice your music around them a totally mess it up, and they'll still applaud for you. Thank you for being so kind to this moth, you are really representing how sky truly is. And what, people play with the krills? I could never 😰 I'm really bad at dodging them if I get caught, plus they're scary, and I don't want to lose all my hard-earned winged light!
I was doing eden once and helping one moth. By the time we got to the krill, I was swarmed by like 5 moths just running around in chaos. I don't want to risk my WL (because moths doesn't know how to hide) and they would probably go near me while in a krill's vision and the krill would ended up charging towards me and I would lose WL as well so I abandoned all of them. I kinda feel bad but leading 5 moths is impossible
OK SO- if you have enough cape star thingies then you can fly away from it, and when they charge at you, THEY PASS STRAIGHT THrOUGH- its reccomended to have at least 8-9 cape stars if ya wanna try that though, so try jumping to quickly get to your hiding place.
I never came across these types of players when I started, as I'm always afraid to ask for help and someone will get tired of guiding me through the game, I had to learn the hard way meticulously
I love helping moths out :( Do they scare me? Yes. But are they cute? Also yes. I sometimes sit and wait on that rock formation near the big plant and look out for players if they need help or distract a krill for them when they've been spotted since i dont have any probles avoiding them with 156 WL. So if you see a chibi sitting just chilling on top a rock, chances are that thats me xD

A friend and I were in a similar situation! We were going through eden and saw someone get smacked by a rock ahead of us, so we hurried to help, and it ended up being two moths holding hands! We ended up helping them the whole way up, and my gf was hearing us geek out over how cute they were the whole time in discord lol

I remember one time when i was starting out, i ran into a veteran in golden wasteland. He offered to hold hands and then immediately flew in the krill's light. He then flew away and i got krilled lmao. I wasnt as confused as the poor moth since i knew what i was doing (thank you youtube tutorials) but i look back on the experience with a laugh instead of sadness, and i hope this moth will too in the future ❤

I was once a moth. A group of veterans taken me to Eden. They helped me until they reached the top. I was the last one there, I got hit by a krill and fell so far back. The veterans was just standing there inside the mountain, laughing at me and proceeded without me. When I try to catch up to them, it was too late.

I still remember helping a capeless Moth in the Hidden Forest, I don't know why he lost his cape. So I helped him get to the Valley of Triumph, I could only take him there because I was too scared to take him to the Wasteland. I feel so bad for him 😥

Ngl I did almost the entire game by myself when I was a moth so I never know what to say to them. I’m never rude or anything tho and try to helpful as much as I can or be polite when I can’t. I may not be good with moths but people who mess with them in purpose make me irritated :(

So disappointing how some people treat new players, especially in a map like wasteland. People who do the kind of stuff that this poor person experienced are why some people leave the game before they can even begin to enjoy it.
Its not even new players at this point no ones safe. One time I had a pair glitch through a flour player door when we need one person as we had 3. They glitched inside and out. After that they laughed at the fact we weren't able to get through and just stayed there teasing us. I ended up just ignoring and going on. That was my first experience with messed up players it doesn't happen that often but when it does you feel kinda confused lol. The community has taken quite a turn recently.

Same here! I had no idea what I was doing there but the other slightly more experienced moth befriended me and we did the wasteland together for a while, before the server split at least. I wonder if that's why I can't seem to find him online ever.
Reminds me of when I first started playing. Not a whole lot of people played at the time so when I got to Waste, I met someone (who I’ve since blocked) and they led me to shipwreck. They left me there and I was attacked by crabs and krill, I was out of light, outside the ship and had no one to help me. It was at this time I got the crab call spirit and it’s because of her I got out of waste actually. Now I help as many players as I can because it makes me feel happy knowing I was someone who decided to help them

I know right, I did everything including exploring the maps further as solo lol, no player really helped me with spirits or such. It wasn't a bad thing tho, thanks to that I got used to the maps/controls/eden/cr etc. faster. I'm still %99 solo to this day lmao

I feel so bad for the moth. This actually did happen to me when I was a moth but it was in Eden. I fell in one area and I was with a group of players who were guiding me but they didn’t come back after I called for help. I’m not sure if they noticed me falling or not but it’s still sad knowing that there are many other moths intentionally being left behind by others.
i saw a moth in eden like that. fell behind from the rest of the group. The others just went on. i ended up turning back to go get them. We are now friends on the game. Poor moth had only 4 stars on the cape left by the time i got to the bottom of the tower where they had fallen down to.
I had the same experience except it was in Eden, someone took me by my hand and dropped me when the monster spotted me. I lost my wings and he just laughed at me than flew away. Thankfully there was on other veterans that helped me. Now I'm friends with her.
When I was new, a veteran found me in the Forgotten Forest. They helped me through everything up until the Wasteland, when we had a server split. I figured I could just go through alone. The rest of this game seemed generally harmless, what was the worst that could happen? I got krilled twice before I figured out how to dodge them.
When I was a moth my friends werent able to be in the same lobby as me for eden and so i was alone and scared. Then a veteran saw me and trained me how to do eden. That was the day when I swore when I saw a moth in desperation I will help them too the very end. To whoever helped me overcome eden, Thank you and I hope we meet again in this wonderous game.
Lucky for me, I haven't experienced that yet, I actually met 2 veterans who are actually pretty nice and guided me to winged lights, I'm still a moth currently because I haven't been playing for long, I would go to GW on a daily basis just chilling and crossing it multiple times a day, sometimes for candle runs and sometimes just sitting on a high rock and watching the view. I would also go to Eden at times and help players especially moths in particular to cross the obstacle courses and make sure they made it to the statue part, at the end I would bow/wave or salute at them indicating that it's the furthest I can go, I'll watch them slowly go up the door and disappear. It makes me feel happy that I can guide new players to Eden and make sure they make it, since some moths were guided wrongly or abandoned by either veterans or players who's good at Eden routes and tricks and can easily leave you out in the blue.
I was hiatus from sky because i lost my account and also i was busy with my study. I just played recently with my new account, i found some players, their veterans, they held my hand and were keep flying near krills, because of that i lost so many lights. I gave them benefit of the doubt, maybe they didn't do it on purpose, but it keep happening. I tried to unlock the chat feature but they wont accept it and that's when i knew something supicious, so i was like 'fudge it!' I left them and flying solo but they were following me. Maybe because i was a moth, they mess with me. Everyone was nicer back then, sky was such a therapeutic game for me, but now not anymore because of those mean players

this is why i dont normally friend people anymore… i was a long hiatus because of my studies too. when i came back, i noticed that only a small amount of the people i knew on sky play nowadays. so i usually always stick to them or solo and never friend new players unless they’re moths 💀 i trust moths more than veterans
moths are such cute players… i hate to see them treated like this. sure, sometimes it’s annoying when they don’t listen to you… but they’re only new players, so i can’t blame them. those messed up players that taunt the moths can get murdered by a krill.
I have been abandoned so many times I lost count... it sucks and I refuse to do the eye of Eden alone but no one has ever stuck with me long enough to reach the point of no return.
Awww I would love to help you go through Eden if I could. It's so hard to find a moth who wants help because they're too scared of other players. It breaks my heart 🥺
I can be your friend omg, i like doing eden with others, i also have many different shortcuts in case someone really doesnt want to go through it I CAN BE YOUR FRIEND PLS I DONT MIND HELPING
This is still better than leaving a moth in the last level of fire trials.

I’ve been playing for a few years and returned recently after a long break. I still don’t have courage to do that trial 😅😅. I never got very far no matter how hard I tried. I should probably ask someone for help with it 😂😭

I know the feeling when you get to wasteland and see krill for the first time 😂 After few atemps you get used to them.
A month in and I can only go until the 2nd area. I can’t handle Graveyard or battlefield. I didn’t go through the wasteland alone. Some lovely butterfly helped me. They got me to the end but I’ve been trying to figure a way to go through this realm . It’s hard
I met a lovely veteran on my first or second day of playing, in the valley of triumph after you slide down the hill, it was around the start of little Prince season She was very very nice and helped me a lot, without her I probably would have stopped playing and gave up I'm not as active as I used to be, but I will be again. We don't talk a lot that much because of timezones and schedules anymore but I just wanted to say Tia, thank you and I love you, thank you for showing me the beautiful world of sky.

I usually like to mingle at the forest to help people who can’t complete Assembly quests, but I might add the wasteland to my repertoire after this. Glad you were able to help

I entered wasteland and saw a new player, me being new myself still decided to help him, we both didn't knew what the wasteland was, but then a veteran helped us and im still thankfull to him.
I'm glad all my moth are safe and sound with me ..i take good care of my moth and love them
Are you adopting? Don't know if i still am officially a moth tho, i know my way around the game (exploring a lot of other areas) but i'm playing since almost 2 weeks and still terrified of wasteland and i don't even set a step into Eden😅

Seeing this kind of scenario suddenly makes me feel how lucky I am when I was a moth. A lot of good players helped me despite of me being annoying HAHAHAH. I don't know. Maybe, sky players were not that toxic at that time.
When I was a moth, players don't helped me. When I first time saw a krill, I was just be like: "wow, that's a f***ing big shrimp". And a krill don't touched me.
Okay but are we just going to ignore the fact that they have 587 candles!!!
I remember going to Eden and there was a moth standing near the first rockslide area, absolutely petrified I showed them the path then when we got to the krill zone they closed out the game. Protect your moths my friends.
I started playing a few days ago and I can honestly say that this was one of my fears when I first started to play the first day. Luckily I've only met and been guided around by other moths so far, tho I keep to myself rn, cuz I don't want to burden anyone by tagging along like a lost puppy. As a shy moth in game, I can only imagine how scary it must've been for that fellow moth.

I had a similar experience actually when I was still technically a moth but a little bit more experienced. I was standing on a ledge that the Dark Dragons won't be able to spot players to recharge. I did notice some players Krill Dodging but I thought nothing of it. Before I knew it, while I was watching a Krill go back on its track...all I heard was a roar, and then BAM, I was hit by another Krill and into the dark water. It took me a moment to process what just happened and I booked it to the entrance to the section once you get to the Graveyard. I had just finished collecting winged lights too and I had lost some. The player that I'm guessing was responsible followed me and laughed. This moth was extremely lucky to have you there to help them.
I hope these players will learn to know that most players spend a lot of time collecting their winged lights. 😔 And hopefully mean players will mind to understand that some are new and unfamiliar with krills. I want to friend you in sky now 😭.
