  • 'Daybreak' was the first Chinese song that Dimash had ever heard at the age of 10. Coming from a close-knit, loving family, Dimash was moved by the great love the parents showed by sacrificing themselves for their child. 'Daybreak' tells the true, heart-breaking story of a cable car accident that occurred on October 3, 1999, at the Maling River Canyon, near Xingyi, Guizhou Province in China. It is famous for its many waterfalls, thus the background water feature on the stage. Among the 14 people that died in the accident were the parents of a 2 ½ year old boy. Desparate to save their child, the boy’s father lifted his son into the air before the cable car crashed, thus saving the life of their son while the parents perished. When famous Chinese singer and songwriter Han Hong heard of this story, she was deeply moved and composed 'Daybreak' to commemorate the tragic accident. She then adopted the orphan Pan Zihao who survived the accident with minor injuries, giving him the name Han Houhou. Han Hong performed 'Daybreak' at The Singer in 2015.     • Thank you for the links! For me this song is so tragic and emotional that I can't listen to it - and I can't understand how someone doesn't get anything of the deep emotion, the desperate screaming of a child that Dimash is portraying here... So I'm disappointed here as I am quite often when someone reacts to this song. But thank you for your good and obviously needed comment! 😘

  • Thank you for doing one of the best performances by Dimash. This is a true story turned to song by Han Hong. A family was on a cable car that was overloaded. It broke and the father and mother lifted their 2 yr old son to safety moments before they plunged to their deaths. Han Hung adopted the boy and wrote this song. Dimash was so moved by it that he asked if he could perform it and she agreed. This is incredible on many levels.

    • ⁠@@hans6929I mean, it’s not his mother tongue, and I have no doubt the Chinese pronunciation is one of the hardest in the world. I’m sure he has improved since this performance. As a native french speaker, I was impressed by the accuracy of his french pronunciation. I think he tried his best, and what matters is the emotion he put into the song - and that’s definitely there.

  • I think you got lost in the song and missed the meaning behind it. It's a very sad and tragic true story hence why it's sung so passionately by Dimash. The young boy who survived this cable car accident was later adopted by the woman who wrote this song and she has performed on stage with Dimash.

  • Esta historia cantada por Dimash en chino,rs espectacular y veridica ,muy triste , es sobre un niño que se salva de la muerte gracias a los brazos de su padre ,iba en un 🚠🚠🚠🚠 teleferico en China ,cuando este sucumbio y murieron muchas personas ,el niño lo salvo su padre en el ultimo momentoy fue adoptado por la autora de la letra de la cancion ,que Dimash canta magistralmente poniendo su alma y expresiones al maximo en el escenario ,se me rompe el corazon ❤❤cada vez que lo veo interpretarla ,es epico y estremecedor ,solo Dimash puede transmitir tan desgarradores sentimientos en una cancion tan brutalmente bella ,lo amo ❤❤❤

  • You are pausing and smiling and making inane comments whilst a skilled artist sings of tragedy. You pointed out that the lyrics were in English, but then didn’t read them. Then you comment about how dramatically he is singing, without ever understanding why he puts such drama and passion into this particular song. Your reaction is so unaware it hurts. Please don’t do reactions to Dimash. He deserves better.

  • 👉 After returning from the Singer competition (2017, China), the Kazakh government was so impressed with Dimash's success that they sponsored Dimash's first solo concert entitled BASTAU. In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! This song based on a true tragic story and is very well known in China. In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Original singer and songwriter Han Hong later adopted the child.
