Forza Hamrun! Honestly though, the ground share at Ta'Qali is very authentic to how the league is run. It would be preferable for the game to scale in a way that would eventually give clubs the opportunity to build a new ground once finances allow. IRL Hamrun has applied to build a new stadium. Previously Valletta and their investors had a similar idea. I'm not in love with each club being given their own stadium to start, although having made my own DB I understand the scheduling conflicts that can occur.

Hey everybody, quick little update. There was a small update for FM earlier this week that has messed up the TV revenue for the DB. Essentially the game starts giving teams money for matches that weren't televised causing out of control finances. I've temporarily removed the download links for the DB and save file. We should have an updated version of the DB out very soon with all the fixes that the game can't break this time. In addition, we've also been able to find a few other solutions which will be baked into the updated database which means the clubs wont' need anywhere near as much boosted finances in the early game making a better experience overall too. I'll update the links in the description and edit them into this comment once they are done. This does effect the stream save but we've found a solution for that too so all things go ahead as planned! Nice! I was looking forward for your tips and tricks to build a nation because I am doing an insane challenge: I am going to build San Marino from scratch without any custom database and with the real rules! Maybe I should make some videos of my challenge

I did a Malta save last year and got Valletta to UCL knockouts. My fav save ever.
Building a nation in Malta was my save in fm23. I’ll be transferring it over to fm24 and continuing as we’re in 2045 and a top 10 league and top 75 national team. It’s been a blast so far and im glad im able to keep going!!

I’m doing this with the Netherlands. It’s a much easier challenge than Malta of course, but I was tired of the 3 UCL spots when I finished 4th with NEC Nijmegen. Time to do well in Europe on a shoestring budget!
I am 5 seasons into my Ebbsfleet career and I’m in the championship… I’ve had 3 really good welsh players come through the academy in that time and have sort of decided to do it with wales in this save

Took me about 25 years to get them to 4th. But this season has been weird with Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Vitesse outside the top4.
@@michaelh878for me az was in the second division for about 5 years with psv at the bottom half for a while. de graafschap is the eredivisie powerhouse if you dont take my team into account, this game is wild. i still for the life of me cant break into the top5 coefficients while ive been regularly reaching semi's and finals in the champions league

I have been doing one with Riga FC in latvia. Currently in 2033 and it is a slog haha. My top players (championship level at best) stick around no more than one season as soon as someone that is not in Latvia want them they jump ship without hesitation! love nation building! thank you for the inspiration a few years back, keep up the great work!

I’m currently managing Valmiera however the registration rules are really halting any progress I want to make. Unfortunately I’ve just seen that with the in-game editor I can edit the registration rules. 8 seasons too late🥲
In my Slovakia build a nation one one of the clubs had a takeover when doing the extensions - it right royally screwed their loan farm they had 4 players left! Excited for this years save Matt!
i know youve previously mentioned that this will be your last building a nation save for a while but i just want to say that you are the best streamer/youtuber who regularly does this type of save and i will miss it a lot when youre no longer doing it

As a Birkirkara "Fan" (hard to follow from Germany but trying my best :D ), was a great time during the Pandemic when MFA livestreamed all the games on their KZhead. I will probably enjoy this Malta Playlist and the VOD one. Sirens FC is also a nice choice for this project. I'm also looking forward to the pronouciation of things, if there are any :) I did basically the same when I played FM (it has been a few years) but I tried to get an All-Malta Squad going while winning titles and so on. The biggest problem is the AI and the nonsense FM has to offer as you mentioned (pay-outs, followers, growth).

One heads up when it comes to adding the promise to get them a loan in their contract. You will still piss them off if they are on the dev list and they get offers from abroad that you reject but no home nation team come in for them.
The guides provided in the discord should encourage me to redo my league system instead of exporting it from fm23 and importing it to fm24 😁😁 Thanks a lot!

31:55 Ahhh so that's why I hardly see Transfer deadline days at smaller clubs, it's a dynamic thing, that's something new I learned about this game
ooo I'm going to try this database right away. I always like to play bad teams in lower divisions and bring them up to become juggernauts and improve the league also but I'm always disheartened by the way the game completely ignores that progress when it comes to revenue and economics and also social media and fans. You would expect that a team that becomes really strong over a short period of time also gains a lot of financial and fan support but the game just doesn't care and gives you the same barely percivable progression as if you were a mid-tier team or just managed to stay out of relegation.

I did this in Slovakia on 21, getting them to the 4th biggest league and the national team won an u20 world cup and the euros Also had 2 different teams win the conference league (Ruzomborek and Banska Bystrica) Finished in 2055 because i finally jumped to 23 😂

Same here! Except I've gone with Septemvri Sofia as they have some fantastic facilities for being in the 2nd tier. Have you noticed any drawbacks with the rules in regards to doing a long-term nation building save?
@@aidanwillis213 I'm admittedly only in season 2. I have a lot of problems loaning players out in nation so far because of the foreign player rules so I've started focusing on young European players if I can get them cheap and minimizing how many foreign players I have unless they are very very good. I think I have to do some development in my first team, drum up some interest through playing time, and hopefully I'll have better luck then. Getting into Champions League group stage tho brought in a cool 12.5m (us $) to the club which gave me the wiggle room to expand my scouting to worldwide
Doing one myself but unfortunately I’m stuck with the console version - on the plus side it’s easier to improve my own team, but the league as a whole it’s much tougher (I am enjoying all the players I sign declaring for Gibraltar though, the national is doing very well)
I will do a building a nation in Slovenia with oldest club ND Irilja in second division. I did manage them in FM23 and it was really fun.. But I will mainly focus on slovenia players and nebouring countries. Hate build a nation without any domestics players, not realistic in my option, nothing against you Matt. One weird rule in slovenia is that 16 years are not allowed to play for the first team, so not uuntil they are 17 years old

started a save with Gudja united to try do this. made 4 signings and 2 free loans and im top with 10 games left which was unexpected but means loan farm starts in season 2!

I'm currently doing that in a very very very long save in Scotland right now. Playing as Fort William (Started in Tier 6 (North Caledonian League)) and currently 14 Seasons in I have reached the Championship. Done the same in 2020 but never really took off with the Scottish FA despite reaching multiple CL finals and having various teams break into the other competitions with Hearts even winning three seperate Conference Leagues.

I got promoted to vanarama national league, I'm 10 points clear now so I'll be promoted to League 2. Its league 2 that scares me haha

Id be intrigued to see what happens after you build that nation, then not renewing any of the loans and see what happens to those clubs and that nations coefficient over the next 1 2 5 20 seasons

To whomever it may concern: if you're building a nation in Ireland and want to extend your loans for two years, I've discovered that the magical date is the 31st of December, as early in the day as possible. The loans are actually supposed to end that day, but the game *will* give you a window of opportunity to receive the loan offer, agree to it, and finalise the extension. On any other day your only option is one season.
You'll get no.1 this year Matt!! Could you upload a season by season update? I'm really eager to see how this challenge with Malta goes on FM24 since I can't find the time to sit down and watch your streams sadly! Maybe an idea? Have a great Sunday.

What was the strategy in Norway ? I'm 17 years in and the only way to make the other teams improve ive been able to do is make a new manager to take over and clear out their horrible squad building

Hey, Maltese person here! Not to be the pronunciation police but just wanted to say that the team you are managing is actually pronounced as "Sireens", with an elongated e. Hope this helps and good luck bringing us Maltese to the top of world football

I did a save like this in Northern Ireland 2 years ago, got the league rep up to 8th. Took me until the 2040's. I noticed you never moved clubs in the Hungary save, do you think that helped? I moved from Glentoran after winning several CLs, but had to move because the my team carried the league. Moving to a club just off the big teams was a cushion before catching Glentoran. Did you fet a new stadium with your team? I got 1 with 2 teams. I believe the size is determined by reputation.
To be clear, the Television money system can only be implemented at the start of a save?
One question you didn't explain - how do you cover the wages of 170 loanees if your asking Loan wage is set to 0% ? Especially in smaller clubs like in Malta where the wage budgets are quite small. EDIT - nevermind its covered at 18:23

Question, If I loan a player to a team that is in the third division, extend the contract to the same team in the third division or not extend it and try to get you to go to a better team in the best division? Im in Portugal btw, my young players allways go to third division... :/ Thanks

May need to be careful with development list for the time being. I've seen a lot of people complain that the loan manager will accept and confirm loans with option to buy for ridiculously low fees without any warning. Surely this will get fixed, maybe already has been (?)

Sigh, I wish SI finally give us variable continental competition reputations like the national leagues and cups. So that the likes of the Asian or African champions league could grow in reputation and not remain the same 20+ years in the future.
The problem I have is I barely get loan offers from my own league, doesnt matter if i offer them for free or not
I was playing AIK in Sweden and 50 years in the future, 7 time Ballon d’or winner, absolute best player in the world at the age of 27 cost 1,2 million pounds

League reputation i think. Club reputation was nearly 10k. But league rep was still pretty bad
