2023 ж. 9 Там.
604 208 Рет қаралды

Welcome to the final episode of project Chicago, 2008 Alpina E65 B7. It's been a long journey, but we made it! In this last chapter, we take the B7 back to Alpina in Buchloe, where they gave us a warm welcome. We go on a tour of the entire Alpina facilities, see their production and process of building special cars. Mr. Andreas Bovensipen, the CEO of Alpina, takes project Chicago for a spin and we talk about Alpina's future and their motorsport heritage. Also, Jarax, the E65 guru from Czech Republic comes over for a visit and to inspect the Alpina. The total price breakdown of this project towards the end of the video.

Although they most likely have better mechanical skills using the specialised tools, he has so much knowledge from ALL the models he restored on his own, without delegating the work to someone else from the company, that he knows... The part where he knew from which engine the parts on the table are without a hesitation, while the workers weren´t sure, showed how much he knows about ALL BMW cars. He would be good consultant, if not employee. Especially after seeing a lot of reoccuring issues among all the cars, that could be solved by simple changes suggested by him. It's a nice behind the scenes look at all these niche industries with craftsmen that bring tired things to life. Even the one guy who converted the E46 seats to a model that was never actually produced, the sport comfort seats. Really cool and nice result.

Thank you for always giving us your best, Sreten, it's greatly appreciated. Also, it was amazing seeing you finally get the recognition you deserve, Alpina went out of their way to welcome you into their dojo. You represented all of us very well and made us proud. Thank you for everything you do to bring us all of this content, I'm sure it's not an easy task and you do it extremely well, my friend. • Sreten, your engine has at least the factory spec 500/700 performance. I was going to mention this in the last video on this but look at the Dyno room!! There's no intake air, I have a supercharged engine myself M113ML, Dyno result was 460 crank, 400 wheel - open road it has 500+ crank, 450 wheel because of the air. Our engines with supercharger take in 25.000-30.000L of air per minute depending on compression and displacement - that Dyno even with the big fan is restricting your intake air volume considerably plus the engine will be heat soaking after the first run given the charge air cooling system of the Alpina engine. The Dyno guy needs to tell you the IA temps, they need to be below 60C ideally and that needs an open air Dyno or at least front and rear open door if you want to measure it halfway accurately. The B7 with it's weight and resistance cannot reach 300km/h at anything less than 500hp - that is the easiest test. Same on my E55 wagon, it cannot reach 300km/h with less than 480hp but it does so it has the power. Just wanted to share that to give the charged engine Dyno some context.
