  • Man, that is some real steep country you're working on, one heck of a work out you got from that stubborn stick, I was feeling beat just watching you pound on the wedges. I like the way you problem solve no matter what you're doing yeah. Thanks for sharing the good and the bad ones Bjarne, beast reel.

  • Packing a simple log dog, a rock climbers belt, some prussik loops and a tag line would make your life so much easier in accessing the far low sides of these trees. Way safer, faster and a lot less work than building scaffolds...

  • You definitely have got some patience, I would of thrown a riggin fit of unfathomable proportions. Lol it would of looked like a D8 cat went round and round that tree. Have a great day pal.

  • All that pounding with the axe really takes it out of you.this is one tree that fought back hard.you don’t have a jack in your back pocket do you 😅good job Bjarne it’s lunch time

    • A jack would have been handy but I shoulda made the undercut bigger and less holding wood 🤷‍♂️

  • i was taught if tree leans back and you have to wedge it you need shallow notch because bigger the distance betwen wedge and holding wood more leverage you get.

  • If you had a bottle jack with you would that have been what you’d have used? That tree really gave you the business!

    @BillsGarageWorks@BillsGarageWorksАй бұрын
    • Some of those slopes are steeper then they look slamming wedges for 20 mins is probably easier then carrying a bottle jack.

      @hammerdown184@hammerdown184Ай бұрын
    • Yes because I then have to pack the jack around all day. Also it was a mistake on my part for the smaller undercut and I shoulda cut more holding wood

      @BjarneButler@BjarneButlerАй бұрын
  • Hello Bjarne...when you say " undercut bigger " you mean deeper into thé tree ?

  • Bjarne. Can identify the species of tree each time? also, What do the ribbons or bands stand for? Thanks Bjarne. Keep em coming! It is fun to see what is going on with timber falling BC (live in Seattle).

    @lonnymo@lonnymoАй бұрын
    • Orange ribbon is for block boundary, blue is either trail or stream, pink is from the engineers and not applicable to fallers, yellow is to identify a danger tree that is too dangerous to fall, red is new road location center line. The white bands around the trees are to prevent splitting when they hit the ground
