  • When it comes to weather nowhere in the world can beat Hawaii. Being born and raised here I took it for granted. Hearing you talk about snow and ice reminds me of how lucky we all are to be living here in Hawaii.

  • When I lived there I honestly never had a bad drive. Except one time when I got mad at a driver in a big white Cadillac for driving so slow on H1. I was going to make an obscene gesture at him when I was finally able to pass until I saw it was Jack Lord. Ha!!! He was my hero. I learned to relax and enjoy the view that day. 😁👍

  • Fun Fact: People in Hawaii live about 2 years more, than in the mainland. What's that worth?

  • Florida and Texas are the worst places to live in the summer. The humidity is awful. There is a reason it's cheaper to live there. There is no spiritual living in those states.

    • @Kiya Small You preaching to the choir. I was born in Louisiana.....I only visit in the winter or spring. Only time I am visiting La in the summer is to go to a funeral....and I will give that second thoughts if it ain't a close family member! 🤣

  • Hi Peter, have asked you questions before and seen many of your video's. Thank you for what you do. Love the newsletter as well. I enjoyed my visit there in January and yes things have gone up a bit, but they have everywhere I assume because of covid. Being that I'm a spiritualist what really matters to me is the free weather and beauty. I need very little to survive in the way of material. I know healthcare is pricey, but Medicare is a few years away. Car is important but nothing costly. In your estimation what would it cost to live on very little? Perhaps a studio or renting a room in a house. Does uber pay well? I'm 63 and still work in the hotel industry (40+years) non-management. Seattle is getting expensive too. Thank you! 🌴🐠😎🦀

  • When you moved to HI in the 80's, did you move by yourself? I am a spiritual person and trying to live a more minimalized life. I don't have a large home, I have a very nice 1200 sq. ft townhouse. Not a luxury complex but nice. I have been to HI 12 times. I would have been there more but after my last trip in 2015 my mother went through Cancer and now I care for her. I was then laid off for a year an half. Now I am back to work and it's the most stressful job I ever had. I will soon be 58 and thinking of retirement coming up. I have friends living on the Big Island and that is where I would move if I did. They have a beautiful home in Volcano. As of now I don't think I could purchase a home there. My concerns are finding a permanent rental. I don't want to keep moving. Also the quality of healthcare on the Big Island. I live in New England and love the scenery and lived here all my life. When I'm in Hawaii I don't want to leave. Even though I have friends there, I wonder about moving there alone. I can't depend on them for my entire social life. They have their own busy lives. I'm planning to go back for my 60th.

    • Yes. I moved by myself at age 21, didn't know a soul. Join my newsletter. I've helped a woman who had a lifelong dream move here at age 79!
