I think that it was a little Jiang Cheng centred, meaning it was not at all focused on the story and showed none of the important stuff. For example Jiang Yanli’s death, the relationship between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji and just angst. Sure, you did put angst but for Jiang Cheng, when they saw the tiktok where Lan Wangji “knocked off” Jiang Cheng’s headdress, they did not even pay attention to Wei Wuxian passed out in Lan Wangji’s arms and immediately jumped into conclusions, basically making Lan Wangji look like the bad guy of the story which is simply not true. As mentioned in a previous comment in the comment section there is a reason why his headdress was blown away and for the people who haven’t realised it yet, his headdress symbolised his dignity and it was blown away with the very little spiritual energy that Lan Wangji used meaning it was very loose They also did not question why his headdress was blown away. All in all, focusing on only one character especially side character makes the reaction lack important information.

I like this au but, I only have one problem, Ron and Hermione end up together in the books, yes I know they are reincarnated but Yanli and Jiang Cheng and still siblings and it just feels wrong.

I enjoyed it but you should have focused a bit more on the other. I was expecting a bit more of wei Wuxian and Jiang yanli however it was mainly just Jiang cheng.

If someone doesn't mind, could u explain the meaning of LWJ knocking off JC's headdress? Edit: NVM i figured it out. For anone who doesn't know, the guan (headdress) represents dignity, accomplishments etc etc BUT in this case...... ⚠SPOILER ALERT!!!⚠.... my guess is that the guan in this scene had a rather stronger implication towards JC's pride and his inability to accept the truth. This would mean he would have to retract the blame he placed on WWX for his family's death. Dignity is synonymous to pride in some ways and JC is portrayed to have an abundance of it especially after his family's death almost like a coping mechanism. In essence, pride is what stopped him from feeling guilty for killing WWX, whom he undoubtedly loved. Now a lot of people do not like how it was LWJ who knocked it off but here is my explanation. In this context, personally I see that it is fitting LWJ is the one to knock off JC's guan only because LWJ, who arguably was prideful when introduced in MDZS, disregarded his pride for WWX. Essentially it signifies the similarities between LWJ and JC, but also highlights the differences in their character development in which LWJ was able to change himself for WWX but JC could not. It also foreshadows JC accepting his family's death and really exemplifies the beginning to a crucial character development for JC. This character development can be seen when JC apologizes to WWX at the temple of WangXian's confession scene. Furthermore it wouldn't be accurate to say LWJ purposefully knocked it off but rather it was inevitable that it would happen. Jiang Cheng is a victim and in a lot of pain but the hard truth is that he was fixated on justifying killing WWX out of anger and betrayal and that WWX was just too selfless. LWJ being able to knock off his headdress with a very little spiritual energy blast means that it was 'loose' or bound to happen hence why I said it was inevitable. This is also why I believe that no one but LWJ other than WWX himself has the right to 'knock off' JC's guan but as all the MDZS fans know, WWX is too selfless and would never hurt his brother which is why, Lan WangJi is truly the only person fitting to knock it off. In some ways JC is selfish but that is the raw beauty and ugliness of human emotions when exposed to a lifetime filled with horrors and regrets. This is why I love JC and LWJ's character so much.

Why are people so mad that the creator put Jiang Cheng in the main focus? Like, let the creator do what they want and have their own opinion. Maybe they like Jiang Cheng more, hence him being in the centre. Also, they don't need to love Wei Wuxian! Please, for the love of god, he's the main character and needed to withstand a lot of trauma but that doesn't always justify his actions. He's no saint, so please, leave the creator alone.
