Xabi Alonso made an exceptional team out of a struggling Leverkusen side. Might be next big thing🤞👏
I would not be surprised if he is, quite a few top level coaches expected him to become an incredible coach, but I doubt any of them expected this so early. He's absolutely sensational for Leverkussen. When he took over last year you could see that the seeds for this season were being sown. But even though I said that they'd be ones to watch, I did not expect them to perform this well, it's an incredible team to look at.
Inb4 they miss out on winning the league and Bayern buy their best players

Álex Grimaldo has always been a baller. He is one of the best attacking left back in the world only because he was in benfica people did not notice, but if you know Ball, you know him almost like trent Trent Alexander-Arnold nothing he can't do accurate free kick taker, fantastic crosser, accurate shot and passes I can't believe he just got his first call up to the national team am shocked better late than never.
His shooting is superb

as a Benfica fan, this type of goal from Grimaldo doesnt surprise me and my fellow Benfica fans anymore, he's been at this level for so so long! I was always surprised how we managed to keep him for so many years, even after his amazing CL games. He earned this moment!!
I feel his loss but I'm happy he's in Leverkusen, he looks like he's in the form of his life, if not for Benfica, I hope they win Europa League

I think it's because EPL don't see him as physically strong enough to survive an entire season, La Liga is in economic transition mode (besides Madrid, not many paid a lot for transfers this season, even Barca was scouting for free agents, plus they rarely ask former academy players like him who left, to return to play for first team, it's an insult to them) and there are no top teams in Serie A who don't already have quality or home grown players whom he can displace. Now he is at Bayer, he would stay for Champions League next season too, so good on them.
It's a pity, FFP is slowly killing football across the major leagues

Besides the glowing attacking system materialized in Wirtz, Hoffman, and Boniface, Lever also have the best WBs (Grimaldo and Frimpong) and CB (Kossounou) in the BL.
Xabi really got a proper team together. Watched a few of his drills, have these guys moving like clockwork. It's sad that in recent years the BL has switched to selling talent, they have something really exciting there this season.
@@keystone6162 unfortunately that’s the trade off German football wants to make by sticking with the 50+1 rule, for those of us that want to see Germany retain most of its talent and even sign and retain a portion of the best foreign talent.

Imagine qualifying for UCL in one season and being at the bottom of the table next season. No idea why Union Berlin has this much downfall.😂😢
Their tactics last year was parking the bus in the penalty area. In addition, everyone underestimated them. This year they wanted to make a step forward to attractive football and had many good transfers. But everyone is taking them more seriously now and has no problems with breaking their newly built-up, more slack defence.

Now they a facing 4 straight clean sheet loss in Bundesliga. Compared to them, Ajax is way more better. Now Manchester United recovered, Chelsea recovered, Ajax recovered. Hope Union Berlin will recover as well.

Leverkusen needs to maintain the Bundesliga as its top priority, and put the Europa League and DFB Pokal on the back-burner.
Nah - would rather we go all out in all competitions. The DFB Pokal in particular looks as winnable as it has been in a long time, first place in the UEL group is all but secured so no Thursday nights for a while and whilst we are doing amazing right now, it is just 11 matches into the season - if we are still in contention in March after the AFCON, then we will maybe have that conundrum

It's peculiar. For several seasons he wasn't good enough for the first team, then one relegation and he was too good.
This team had no quality players last season and managed to qualify for Champions league and now they brought in a wonderful iconic defender Bonucic from Juve and a pretty good qualit yliek Gosens from Inter nd are in relegation status at the moment

The first shot at the brim of the box was beautiful! Rønnow did make some brilliant saves, but still could not stop the fierce attack from Leverkusen. It was a hard time for Union Berlin and now they needed to struggle for survival in the league!
