I am always enthralled to see how thin the little flakes of sole are - translucent, particularly on a light colored hoof. Also, I understand the reason you hold your knives so the “business end” is closer to your little finger - leverage for being able to precisely remove those thin slices….but still, that just seems backwards to me, compared to how one uses the handles of other tools. Lovely, precise work - thank you for sharing!
I don't miss one if you want your video! I follow you here from Brazil! Success and health, my friend!
if you are wondering if the horse is feeling pain no its its not he just cleaning it if he didn't the horse hoof can become ingrown because the horse to not walk.
sorry about my grammar mistakes I suck at making comments
@@eduardorosales5042 Nah, you're good.
And if it did hurt the horse, the horse would have kicked the guy across the country

The sheer grace with which you gesseminied that geschmoigan was phenomenal!
Another excellent job, Jake. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Ahhhh. Such ASMR. Much Wow. Great job, Jake!
You make a nice Job :D Best regards from germany c:
Beautiful! 💖
this video makes me comfort !
During lockdown I went from Kpop to Japanese candy and now this site. I'm completely fascinated by it all. While I'm here, could you please tell me one or two rookie mistakes new farriers can make? (Preferably the bloodless kind!)
I would love to see a compilation of just Rasping hooves or more or less the end part of the trim?
Hello, I've seen a lot of your videos, tell me how do you choose the size of a horseshoe for a horse?
I love how your gentle and kind to your horses and I love how you take care of them with such gracefullness but the horshoe part seems painful yet I know that it's painless or is it?
If it hurt, the horse would stop you.
I don't know why people assume the horse would just stand there, motionless and silent, if it was painful.
I'm from india hyd 👍👍
thanks for the video
How long does a horseshoe typically last? Also, when you sear the hoof with the shoe, what does that even smell like??
@@pryzzm_1 burnt hair + horse + horse manure they don't really care where they step unless its pointy
Amazing work. From earth brother
How do you know how much frog or wall to take? Love ur channel btw Thank you
Nice video 👍
Forbidden coconut shavings
so relaxing
Are there any special ( ie: electric) type tools designed to make this less labor intensive for you? or is this the only way to do this work?
Maupin farrier uses a rotary sander attachment for a drill to sand the toe before dressing the nails and shaping.
9.4/10 I like the camera angle when you were using the anvil
4:18 wicked smooth
The polished hoof looks like marble...🥰
Not sure how I got here but do you think horses get excited for new shoe day?
I don't know so much about horses , but it's satisfying .
Cordial greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
The Forbidden Coconut !
The file flip… silky smooth.
Any reason why you changed the type of shoe the horse was wearing? Also still working wondering why you use the 3-2 nails for the shoes.
Many times, a farrier will change the type of shoe because that’s what the owner wanted. I know competitive riders will choose different shoes for different kinds of training or showing.
hey I'm wanting to be a farrier I live in the US and I'm 16 what's the best way to get started in this career? I love your videos keep it up!

There's a US based farrier channel called S&S Horseshoeing that may be able to best answer your question. If you were in NSW, Australia, I'd tell you to look at TAFE NSW courses for Farrier work and Blacksmithing. You may need to go to a regional TAFE. Like Scone. But if I remember, they also ran TAFE NSW students out of Sydney race courses. Mostly Randwick.
@@TheShadowChesireCat sweet thank you so much I’ll look into it!

Excellent video! But to be honest, I was thinking about toilet restoration, the first time I see the cover image.
Fantastic Audi and Video quality! Great work 👍
do you make this for young horse. i want to see how to start in first time to horse. how to trust you and dont do anything bite smash like something
Another comment about those of you who think it’s painful it is not. Think of the hoof as the horses finger nail. When you clip your nails it does not hurt and you don’t feel any pain in the nail (if u do get that checked out) and it’s same for the horses they do not feel a thing ❤️❤️❤️
buen video para dormir recomendado
Are those race or showhorses or "just" regular horses?
3:20 mano porquê isso e tão satisfatório
how he is so comfy
That’s a big horse 😳
I wish they would explain all the steps and why they do certain things
Hi Jake, why do you put in 3 nails on the one side but only 2 on the other?
I am curious i don't know much about horses shoeing but does burning the shoe hurt the animal
Not at all, if it hurt the horse then the farrier would've been kicked
Question, why do you put the hot shoe on the hoof for a bit?
To know if itll be flush
@@phildobz375 Ah thanks!
2:34 nice phone lol
How can you clean the frog like that
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Does this hurt the horse are there and tender spots
No this doesn't hurt the horse, its like trimming our nails
Does the animal feel this process and suffer from it?
No it doesn’t. It’s like cutting ur fingernails when they get too long.
No, if the horse was in pain it would stop him- horses are very vigilant animals and have powerful legs that can kill a human with a kick. So the fact that the horse is letting him do this proves the horse is not in pain, all the cutting and burning is just on hoof material which is the equivalent of fingernails
Why tap the anvil with the hammer ?
Does it hurt on the horse??
Horses don't have nerves in their hooves. It's literally just a giant finger nail.
Мастер класс,,🇺🇿💪💪💪

Why do you heat up the horseshoe & then burn the hoof?
the heating of the shoe is for easier to shape the shoe for the hoof, the buring is to make the shoe fit perfect to the hoof it also tells jake is there is some un even surface he missed
Un trapazo jefe?
5:30 IS THE HORSE OK?
He probably didn't even feel it. The horse is perfectly fine

So... wait... this is scencially horses getting manicured right???

Restoration or rather just shoeing
