seems like this sport has become so much less dynamic than I remember years ago. no spin techniques no rear round houses, double kicks that change levels no fakes no feigns fading kicks. it just jousting with the front leg. so much ability in kicking trained in TKD but that this format doesn't showcase (any longer). can anyone tell me why?

- Evolution of electronic chest guard! Also, it became a more strategic game than throwing amazing kicks. Now is more about a smart game, smart game brings you medals, throwing amazing kicks does not.

- @@panditaleon what ...you trying to tell me that there was less strategy before the electronics hmm doubt that. well guess this is one of those times when things don't evolve in a positive direction. Suppose the judges don't need to work as hard either they just depend on the electronics also the electronics will degrade skill all you have to do is touch an area that will register which means if your kick is crappy but makes contact you score. I've seen it when two are in close one simple lifts their leg like they're gonna do a yoga stretch pose taps the back of the headgear and viola 3pts ...if that's what you mean by strategy.

- @@redpillpusher it's indeed strategy and hours of technical and tactical training. Looks easy, but it's not. If it is easy, everyone should be Olympic champion, World Champion, European Champion, right? Don't like modern Taekwondo, then don't watch it.

- TKD is dead. They should get rid of the point system or do something drastic to the rules. Refs are also mad annoying. Definitely was different when I was doing it myself in the past.

I love tkd now I might not be old enough to say this but when I started it was still kind of in a time where the fights were more speedy and really interedting and exciting it was when the exciting part was the whole experience now people consider it exciting when someone scores a single kick

En la academia que práctico se le tiene mucho más respeto al taekwondo, siempre que entramos o salimos al tatami se hace reverencia, al igual que si se comete alguna falta, y al entregar o recibir las tarjetas de reclamo de puntos se entrega extendiendo la mano derecha, y poniendo la izquierda doblada bajo esta

There's a difference between thinking and too much waiting. I really want more to happen in fights the whole time I was like go! I think its rediculous they had they fight call like 5 times in the first round

- They have to win 5 fights to get to the finals and believe me, constantly raising your leg is harder than it looks. To do this sport you need a lot of stamina.

Yo soy de México y la verdad que la diciplina del Tae Kwon Do aquí es mucho más diferente a la de Tokio, acá tienes que tener poses de protección, momentos de ataque, el saludo, la patada de giro, entre otras. Pelear como ellas pelearon sería una falta de respeto aquí en México

My first year in tkd, everybody were told to train your front leg to kick so that you wont keep on kicking with your back leg. Now this is the result, every practitioner now are kicking with their front legs constantly. Their body are all expose for a roundhouse kick but they are to busy using their front. Miss the old days

when the red player got her third Kyong Go (warning -0.5), the Blue one got one point. while each two half warning should be one point for the opponent. why still there are issues with the referee systems? Also, it would be better to use just one point for all type of hits to the chest protector and two for all types of hits to the helmet. In the current scoring system in 6 minutes of the fight, we can see even more points than the basketball and it is ridiculous.

- Bak şimdi ben de taekwondocuyum bu işler demekle olmuyor. Pazartesi salı 1.30 saat antremanım var 2 saatte ek olarak çalışıyorum nerdeyse her gün. Bacak kası lazım. Temel teknik bilmek lazım. Bunlar ha dedim oldu bitti olacak deyince olan şeyler değil. Puanları ezberlemek, temel tekniğe göre pratik ama etkili tekmeler atmak, tekmenin sağlam olması için bağırmak lazım. Çoğu taekwondoya başlayan kişi zaten daha bacakları oturmadan çıkıyor, ilk aylarda bacakları tir tir titriyor. Bacaklarının tekmelerin için sert bacak açmanın esnek olabilmek için ve kol kaslarının tekmeye karşı çıkmak için sert olması lazım. Taekwondocuyum diyipte daha günde 10 şınavı ıkına ıkına çekemiyorsan diyemezsin. Taekwondo emek işi demekle olmuyor.

The problem with tournaments is the girls are too worried to make the make the move which don't look like or feel as a proper fight even just a comp. The boys are most brutal in TDK. They don't waste time looking for a opening.

Evet puan sistemi, hakemler vs. eskisi gibi değil ama bu sporcuları küçümseyebileceğiniz veya linç edebileceğiniz anlamına gelmez! Onlar öğretilen şeyleri en iyi şekilde yapmaya çalışıyorlar sadece. Ayrıca Türk sporcuyu Türk olduğu için linç etmeleri çok komik. Türkler hakkında ön yargılarınızı bir kenara bırakın, ben çevremde yabancıların sandığı gibi olan Türklerden çok az gördüm. Bir çoğu oldukça modern ve ahlaklı. Muhteşem sanatçıları, sporcuları ve akademisyenleri var. Lütfen kimseyi ırkı yüzünden linç etmeyin!

I know this is the world championship, but to a guy who knows nothing about Taekwondo and has just come from watching Jackie Chan fight scenes, it's like two poorly coded NPCs fighting in a video game.

Bu videoda hemde desteyin ne kadar önemli olduğunu anladım,ruslar sayca türklerden fazlaydılar amma hiç türklerin Zelihaya destek verdikleri kadar Kudashovaya destek vermediler.İşte ,türklerin bu özelliğini çok seviyorum,hep başarılı türk görünce full gaz destek oluyorlar,aferin!👍🏻
