  • Moonshine Harley has some awesome (and reliable) parts (mods/upgrades) for the HD SE 131 motor. I'm thinking you could see 160-165 HP&TQ with 131 Cu. In. in normally aspirated form on pump gas (w/reworked heads, the right cam, right exhaust, etc.). Keeping the stock 4.500" stroke [of the 114/117/122/131] you could build a 135 or by increasing bore to 4.500" you would get 143 Cu. In. (expensive custom billet cylinders). Of course there is always "boosted" options (Supercharger, Turbocharger, and/or Nitrous)...to be continued.

  • Looking at the torque curve that thing has about another 1000rpm before it rolls over naturally. There's probably another 10hp in there with a decent tuner ans set up. I can't wait to see if you get the 200hp. Its looks like its on the cards but how will it go in reality? Fingers crossed for you and if/when you do it can we have a costed list of what we need so we can copy cat you?

    • @@BikesandBeards You know I never even heard it mentioned the first time I watched. Makes sense because its going strong up to then and doesn't look ready to give up by a long way. I'll bet that thing is close as makes no difference to 150hp once that limiter is off. Only 50 to go. I can't wait. I've been looking forward to this since you got that king.

    • That Twin is basically the same as dropping a 520 CI V8 into a car or truck. 4.3 inch bore in those jugs. In every dimension of the thing, it is basically 2 big block pistons roaring between your legs. Harley should just go ahead and make 200 CI twins and just run the frame between the jugs and call it a day.....oh and a backpack fuel tank.

  • For anyone wondering how much performance improvement relative to displacement that was: 114 ci is 1868~ cubic cm, or 1.87 L, at 82 hp that's 43.9 hp/L 131 ci is 2146~ cubic cm, or 2.15 L, at 138 hp that's 64.2 hp/L Definitely in a higher state of tune than the original motor, even if neither touch the horsepower per liter that most other bikes are able to produce.

    • torque is what you should be using

      @dukeljk2191@dukeljk2191 Жыл бұрын
    • @@dukeljk2191 why? Horsepower is a function of torque (work) and rpm (how fast that work is being done) therefore horsepower is always the more relevant number for performance, and an engine will always be doing more work at it's peak horsepower than it's peak torque. Of course on an actual bike gearing, weight, etc matter, but if we're just comparing engine to engine, especially engines with similiarly shaped powerbands, then why use torque?

Get someone to port those heads, slap some woods cams in it, find you a big ass throttle body for that monster, and get a good tune. You’d be a lot closer to the final number of 200 and 200
