Also, I don’t where you are from, but here in Europe we have so many great artists that are never going to make it big because they’re either not American or British, or worse; they don’t sing in English… I’m Dutch, but I’ll listen to anything and I don’t care if it’s in French, Icelandic or Japanese. My tips: Pip Blom (Dutch), Aurora (Norwegian), Stromae (Belgian), Zaho de Sagazan (French) and as a bonus: Altin Gün (Turkish-Dutch).

  • Poo love her sound and her look. These lyrics took me back to high school when I had a desperate crush on a basketball player. I looked at him as one of the popular people. I know he knew how I felt, and he took advantage of that. Our school was small, which meant classes were small. We had study hall together, and it was held in the music room (which meant no desks). After I learned he had muscle cramps in his calves from basketball, I offered to massage them. (It was a private, Christian school, so it was very PG. At that point, I think I may have kissed two guys. In fact, I was almost 20 the first time I had consensual sex. I may not have done that, because of my upbringing. But, I had been assaulted at a party within the 6 months or so previous to that. After that, I confided in just one person about the incident. Because there were no witnesses and also because of my shame, I didn't report it to authorities. Since I was quite naive, I'm unsure how I knew/assumed I wouldn't be believed.) The next time I saw my crush was at our 20 year class reunion. We went out a couple times, and I mentioned my feelings for him. I asked why he hadn't been interested in me beyond friendship in school. His precise comment wasn't that I was "too much," but that was the gist. I would've dated him or just had a friendship, but I realized he was too emotionally unavailable. His work took him to the other side of the country a lot. He seemed to think he could blow in and out of my life when it was convenient for him. I made a conscious choice to stop communicating with him. I wasn't going to allow him to jerk me around a second time.
