Awe, my mom owned a flower shop in the 80s-90s. She was famous for making those permanent flower vases. Although she had to use a product we could only buy at a particular floral wholesaler. Elmer's didn't sell clear glue back then. Of course, hers always included her signature (She added something that secretly let the world know she personally created her arrangements, bouquets, etc.) but I LOVE that the basic concept is coming back. 💜
Beg your mom is awesome
Oooo! What was her signature?
@@misshulabuloothe1st953 She hid a special, classy, but inexpensive (fake, but higher end) pearl into the arrangement. Nothing super flashy, wouldn't distract from the overall look. The color/design was unique, provided by that wholesaler, created just for her shop. For regular customers, they enjoyed looking for it. She was very creative in how she did it.
Awesome When I Make Stuff I Find away to add my name on it Sometimes I Even Date it Depending on what it is
Florist are very talented and creative and under-rated. When I watch how to videos, they never cover their mechanics with moss. I use excelsior. You would think they would want to sell greening pins and moss.
FINALLY! A craft tutorial that I can actually do! 👍🏼👍🏼
Yes!!
@@shellarmstrong1 /
Me, too!!!!
I know right 😊 and a cheap one at that ❣️❣️☝️I love it
@@CarolinasSweetTea Now I know what to do with all those vases. 😅😅
The clear glue in the vase is a heck of a lot cheaper than resin which gives you the same effect. Never thought of using glue. Very cool. When you did your stained glass piece, I notice you used puffy paint, I lucked out and found black hot glue sticks on Amazon and I love it. I did a wine bottle similiar to what you did with just making different shapes, almost like puzzle pieces, then went in and colored it with alcohol inks. Turns out great.
Very Mondrian like art
I would love to see the wine bottle I have tons
¹
I had the same thought. A much cheaper idea, That's using the old noggin.!
+p
My favorite was the colored Mason jars. I make paper flower arrangements and recycle jars of all types and sizes as vases. What an easy and inexpensive (a plus!) way to coordinate the vase with the colors of the flowers!
I just ordered everything you just made here...the clear Elmers glue, the white and clear stones, and the artificial flowers, from Amazon! I have a beautiful clear vase almost identical to yours. This is such a terrific idea. I recently remodeled my house and just did not know what centerpiece I would like on my dining room table. This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!! (:
Just so you know for next time, all of the items (glue, stones, paint, and artificial flowers) are also at the Dollar Tree, if there is one near you.
Well, how did it come out?
@@TanyaQueen182 I was going to ask the same question! lol lol
That first project is amazing. It is a substitute for epoxy, much cheaper, and easier to use. Thank you for the great ideas.
Substitute for sure. I wonder if I may be able to layer it and paint On It as well
I tried to watch it earlier and the video cut off I didn't see what she did with it
Can you poor this on painting
@@belindamartinez8441 Watch it again when you get a chance. Simply amazing
Maybe a substitute but I wonder how long it would last and how well it holds up over time
Wow ! Loving the first project! So simple to diy , yet looks store bought !
Great video segment. Thanks so much for keeping it direct, simple and moving along and still at a pace to easily understand. So many videos out there waste alot of "just talking" or rambling time that makes you not want to watch all of it.
I love this. I always wanted to do stained glass but didn't know how to do it easily. Great idea!
Hello
Theres a “stained class paint” that is much better than this.
A welder and some real stain glass is very easy to
The idea, obviously, is to get a stained glasses effect cheaply and with ingredients you already own around the house, I imagine, otherwise, she’d make a video on how to do _real_ stained glass.
Plaid makes Gallery glass paint that you use to make imitation stained glass... Found in craft store & Wal-Mart etc. Not expensive at all
I made one of those cases with silicone from a craft store and it was over $ 20.00. Never made another one till now. I just bought 2 clear Elmer's glue bottles.Thank you for the idea! Now I can have one on our dining room table for every holiday.
I often wondered if clear glue could be used instead of resin. So much less expensive and looks great. Thanks for the info!
It will turn very yellow though. It won't stay clear.
Glue can yellow, so it made me wonder if clear gloss silicone would work - like the stuff you coat wood floors with.
Yes glue yellow and dried and will eventually shrink and turn really gross
If you mixed blue food coloring with the glue would it stay blue or maybe even a greenish color? Looking to make something that resembled ocean water.
Depends on the craft too! Clear Glue should be fine for things that are temporary or seldom handled, while Resin will last much longer if it is something that will be handled often (like jewelry!) Glue will retain a softer texture while resin is much harder. Glue will yellow quicker than Resin (Resin will sometimes yellow if exposed to enough sunlight) Glue isn't a bad tip for something fun and inexpensive- especially if prone to mistakes (Like I am! XD ) Plus Glue is a lot safer to use around pets and little ones while Resin needs to be handled in its own well-ventilated environment. I don't have human children, but I do have a couple of clingy cats who lament my isolation while I play with resin. I'd definitely try it some time!
All projects are really good!! I personally, want to try the last one "sun and moon". It came out really pretty! Thank you for sharing 😊
I know, that was my favorite.
Great ideas. I especially loved the last one, the sun & moon. What an amazing way to add texture. Beautiful.
I really like the faux stained glass idea. I will be giving it a try! Thanks 😊
try a different video then there are much better ones with much better results. that look look less tacky
Check out Mondrian art for some inspiration
@@marytramp5678 the only tacky thing here is you...if you have people come over or, are someone that goes to someone's house and judges their decor, that makes you tacky...she made her art, what have you made? Besides a rude comment 🙄...
@@user-uv5yi6cf6v this is not her home. but a public forum on how to do something. and in this case she did it incredibly poorly. and it looks like like crap.. if you wnt to make yours to look like that and have it in your home and have it look like like a toddler did it go ahead. however if you want to a project similar to this and have it look beautiful then i suggest looking at the many other posts. i upcycle and recycle many objrects it's how i make a living. i scour youtube, and pinterest, etc for inspiration. and i just hate to see videos like this that people will have spent good money and time trying and end up with disasterous results. when by watching much better and simpler ways will get them better results. and less heartache. so if that makes me tacky and rude so be it. i've been called worse.

Thank you for making a video full of great Idea's for crafts. Every project was a new idea that you could use craft items you have lying around the house.
Very creative, loved the moon and sun project. Definitely will use that technique. Thank you for sharing the how to.
Hi Rita
I'd have used silver paint on the moon.
Great ideas and beautiful projects😃 Thank you for sharing🤗
WOW! What clever beautiful ideas for decor!
Hi Joanna
Everybody have a different artistry. You are amazing ❣️💙 love it.
I like the idea of coloring clear mason jars. Colored mason jars can now be purchased at large craft stores, as well.
I just got back from Dollar Tree 20 min before coming across this video. They have colored glue there.I just bought 3 bottles of the blue that's the same that she used in the mason jars. They had a pretty green as well. I found it in the arts and crafts section. I'm going to use it in my floral vases. I love all the arts and crafts projects that was shared on here. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!
Do you have a picture to share?
Now, I want to want to do so many of EACH of these projects - specially the water and Rose's, and, the colored Mason jar ones. ALL of them are such unique ideas. TY for sharing. 😉

Hi Sharon
@@thstrt90gmailcom11 Hello
@@sharonjerseygirl7165 How are you doing?
Loved the water vase/floral idea, I love faux flowers ; and like to add plain water to them to make them look somewhat alive, because the “wet water” you can buy for this , is very very pricey. So, this seams like a better alternative than, just plain water! Can’t wait to give it a try! Also loved the stained mason jars, and that stained glass! They were all AMAZING! Thanks so much!
You can also use a hot glue gun with ultra clear hot glue sticks and add small drops here and there to several petals on each flower. When the glue dries it looks like water/dew/rain drops on the flowers to make them look even more realistic. I like to tip the petal downward for a few seconds as soon as the drop of glue touches it so the glue slowly starts to move downward just enough to give each drop the appearance of movement. Its a very effective way to transform silk flowers into realistic looking live flowers just after a fresh rain. 🌼🌺😊
@@x_HarleyQ_x I like this idea. Thanks for the tip!
Can someone please tell me why the clear glue turns yellow after its dry in the vase with the flowers?
I just love this idea! Thanks so much for sharing and I will be making this soon. Be safe and God bless everyone watching this video.🤗❤️
People used to use the first project a lot years ago in the 90s and early 2000s. Especially for weddings, haven't seen it in a minute! 🤣👏👏👏
Does the glue stay tacky?
I love it! Such a cool idea. Thank you for sharing. 😊
That flower arrangement with the pebbles is a great idea. I always wondered how they did that. I'm going to try that. I have plenty of assorted vases from when my husband gives me roses. It sure saves in watering the flowers and watching them dry up and fall apart. Thank you for this idea.
Really cool last project...great job explaining and thank you for making it simple and a project worth doing.
One of the best craft instructional videos I’ve seen
When I was a child, numerous adults used Mason jars for canning, dry storing, and temporary food storage. A few of the jars were a greenish blue, similar to the jar tinting shade in this video; I was fascinated by their color.
Loved the puffy paint stained glass
That's soo Beautiful..and thanks for making and sharing your ideas

@@vickiallred977 you’re welcome silly girl
Those are some cute ideas. I think I'll try the stained glass.
Hi Debbra
so simple ad so inventive. Looks like a great idea for gifting.
You can still buy antique BLUE Mason & Ball jars. Some are with & without lids. I have several of both & use one small Ball jar (pint size w/glass lid) for my teabags. They are so worth the $$ u pay. Sometime u can find cheaper ones in small towns, rural country areas. Good Luck shopping. The idea you have is still a good using glue & paint to color them. Thanks for sharing!
The only problem with using glue as resin is that sunlight will turn it yellow or brown. Also, it's a lot softer.
Suggestion: add a little blue food coloring to glue
i feel like putting some type of dye in with the glue would help with the discoloration issue. it is a lot softer though, absolutely.
Water is even softer.
@korn dawggy but toddlers aren't lol
Elmer's glue doesn't yellow
Does the clear glue yellow over time? Great project.
Makes me wanna make a big mess in my kitchen lol Looks so relaxing!!!!
Love the vase and your pictures are soo original !!!
The clear glue with seashells would be nice too!
How long did it take your glue to harden? I did this (minus stones) in April, and the glue still isn't hard lol
I wonder if the stones some how are the key for the glue to harden.. just a guess
@@dawnbodine I did a project last year with smaller stones and Elmer’s, less than 2cm deep and it took days and days to dry
maybe put it in the freezer? if it's still not lol

Hi Delores
Love the ideas. For the first one. How long does it take for the glue to dry? I did this over a month ago and it is still not dry.
Is it dry now? 😂 I was thinking that it would probably take a while for it to dry, but I didn't know how long. I figured maybe a couple days?
Lol....I just used green glue as fake poison for a halloween beacon 8 days ago and it's still wet🤣🥴🥺!!
Seeing ur wonderful video again. So nice of you sharing ur ideas.
Awesome Ideas. I flow paint vases, and I have used Elmer's Clear Glue in my paint mixes, so I'm going to do this with a clear vase . I'm sharing this with my contacts. Thank You for the inspiration. (I'm subscribed+all)
I would actually like to try my own rendition of the stained glass one! :D it would make some fun gifts for friends! I wonder if glue bubbles would pop under a flame like Resin does? Also the sun and moon canvases turned out beautifully! they looked as if they could have been from a little boutique shop
Have you tried Gallery Glass paint? It's fabulous for faux stained glass...colors are transparent so it looks more like glass.
@@paulablock3202 yes actually! Back in the 90s My mom and grandmother made gallery Glass window clings that hung on my childhood windows for years! Gallery Glass would definitely be the higher quality option :) but I never thought to use glue for a cheap and quick option

For the "stained glass," you could also use a DQ straw for that little "lip" on it. It takes practice, but it will give you better control over your medium.😁

Love the clear clue vase project 👌
Oh! And THANK YOU for showing us how to do this!
I tried this method with the glass vase, artificial flowers, decorative pebbles and clear Elmer's glue and so far the glue is still fluid and has not dried after a week. How long did it take for the glue to dry on your project? This information would definitely be helpful. Thanks in advance for responding.
……hmmmm, I’d like to know as well
Yeah, well it seems as though a lot of people would like to know how long the drying time is and considering she has not replied to anyone’s question,my guess is, it doesn’t ever dry.
I made a vase with sand on bottom. Pebbles and stones it looks beautiful but it's been 2 days and it still hasn't gotten hard. I'm making them for wedding centerpieces and i don't have much time. Is there a way to make the process faster?
I did this with about 2‐3 inches of glue. It took about 3 weeks to fully dry and half of it evaporated. I had to add more back in and wait even longer. Definite fail
Glad I saw your comment. Resin it is
So, that's why my moonshine tastes like glue!
I just saw different brand clear glue at Dollar Tree ;) Thank you God bless you
Loved all of those. Great job. Thank you for sharing. Everyone please have a wonderful day. 😗😊❤🐰🐨
I’ve tried the clear glue in a vase method…it’s beautiful but it took over a week to dry…and some evaporates.
I wonder how long this glue will last.
Good to know. Thanks!
Mine hasn't dried yet
@@laurabiczo9663 This may never happen. Try adding some pvp glue to the elmers.
This did not…I repeat DID NOT work out for me 😂. My Elmer’s glue must’ve been defective. When it finally did dry (actually closer to 2 weeks), about half the glue disappeared…and not because it was clear, and the other half pulled from the sides and flower stems. When I try it again, I’ll use E6000 or B7000. Hopefully I’ll get better results with one of those.
Very cool ideas! On the stained glass piece could I use some transparent watercolor paint mixed with the clear glue? This way the stained glass wouldn't be opaque. The tubes of watercolor paint list whether the color is transparent, opaque or semi transparent. Just a thought.
Wow!! Awesome ideas. Will be making a few for gifts!
