  • Man, when he said "I know kids get teased for wearing my shoe, but my shoe doesn't look like a 29 dollar shoe and I take pride in that". That touched me deep. I think is a shame kids do get tease for wearing Shaq shoes. We got to teach humility to our children.

    • word to god. we used to call them "air walmarts" when i was a kid. makes me sick thinking about clowning on someone because that's all their parents could afford. Im 35 now and I buy clothes from walmart and target all the time even though I make decent money. It's about looking fly, not spending money. After I discovered thrift stores in high school, I never looked at clothes the same way. You can hit up goodwill and look good for $10.

Shaq will forever be, imo, one of the most caring, humble, down to earth guys I've seen in the sports industry. The giving he does and doesn't want credit or press for. No tiktoks or instagrams of him feeding homeless people. He just does it. He doesn't care about the clout. Such an Old School Cool. Would love to meet him one day and tell him in person. Much respect Shaq Diesel 👍

Also remember growing up thinking less of the shoes since Js and Nikes were the hype then and still to this day. But watching this has opened my eyes and made me realize what Shaqs were for and makes me appreciate the shoes my parents had been able to afford. Going to grab some of his shoes out of respect for what hes been doing for kids.

    • Wow it was diffrent in Sweden, Nobody could afford the Shaq's (that i know) that was like the holy grail. You alwaysvused to go to the sporting shops and they always had a replica of shaq's gigantic shoe. It was like 150$ at the time, the most i got sneakers for as a kid was 50$ and those was FIRE, regular joint like 20-30$ and nobody had jordans. Dont even think thet existed out here in the 90s. Reeboks was tha shyt. When air forces become popular is when people started rocking nike again and Js aint become popular until tha mid 2000s
