  • for those who want to jump straight to the point, min 7:00. Basically the lower you push the tire wall, the more slack. Get your roller to push a bit more and the tire will slip right in.

  • How do you know when you should not clamp on the ID of the rim?

    @blair683ify@blair683ify3 жыл бұрын
    • On alloy wheels your supposed to clamp the outside to not damage the barrel with the clamp spikes, though a lot of places don’t use this method. You mostly clamp steel wheels from the inside.

  • There isn't Inside outside on Directional tires. There is direction of rotation. So depend what side of the car it's going on will determine what way it faces on wheel. The DOT number means nothing as far as figuring out what side to put out. Secondly the other tire type u speak of is called Asymmetrical. That will say Inside/ outside. Those get mounted the same on the wheel no matter what side of the car it goes on. Third there is just regular tires that have no bearing what way they face because the tread is the same no matter what side is down. Then to touch on mounting. The valve should always be at 9 o'clock NOT 6. Also Ford wheels have banded sensors. If you dismount or mount those the same way u do all your other wheels you WILL break the sensors. The sensor is Opposite the valve on a banded sensor. So basically you start with your valve in the Opposite position of a normal wheel. This goes for breaking bead, dismount and mounting. Hope this helps. That's only for banded sensors.

    • Rewatching my video I should have been better at clarifying tire types, my bad. Directional tires will always show a direction of rotation as far as how tie tire rotates driving forward. You would mount two rotating clockwise and two mounted counter clockwise according to the arrow on the sidewall. Ones with the arrow clockwise would be passenger side and counter clockwise on the drivers side. Directional tires will have the full DOT on both sides. Asymmetrical tires have an inside and outside. The full DOT will “always” be on the outside sidewall. If No directional or asymmetrical tires are mounted technically you can mount them any way, however here in NY at least the DOT requires the full dot on the outside. Ford tires can have a valve tpms or band tpms, I believe passenger vehicles are valve tpms and their heavy duty are band clamps. That is the exact reason you break the bead 90* from the valve stem. That way neither can be broken. Mounting. The tpms always goes just after the duck head removing the tire. Regardless of if valve tpms or band tpms. I can almost guaranty if you do it that way you will never break a sensor. Mounting wise, what is important is that the bead is pressed into the drop center a little “after” the sensor. So you can do it at 6 o clock or 9. That is not the important thing. The 9 o clock is more of a general standard. I have never broken a tpms sensor doing this method. I hope that clarifies things. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
