The snowy owl nest is located in Barrow, Alaska and is part of the Owl Research Institute’s long-term study on Snowy Owl and Brown Lemming Breeding Ecology (now entering the 23rd year). With 24 hours of sunlight in the arctic this time of year, you can tune in any time day or night to watch the nest!
I remember seeing some of this. These snowy owls are amazing.
Okay,... I,.. I,... Have just learned something new. It never occurred to me that any owl would nest on the ground.
I LOVE owls and have had amazing encounters with them in the wild (especially at night or early morning in the barn). I just wish I could handle the food chain/circle of life thing better. I’d not deny them their food of course, or look badly at ANY animal (except man who hunt for “sport” or trophies) that needs to get its prey to survive. I love ALL animals so as much as I love owls 🦉, it’s hard to watch the struggle of the prey. It’s my issue to deal with & get past. These wild cam vids are amazing👍🏼
And those Harry Potter fans.
Awwww the babys 😍🦉

Arctic owls must "or usually" nest on or in the ground, as most Arctic locations have no trees!
What the temperature?
