      @mazzman1@mazzman13 жыл бұрын
    • Late reply but the rhyme isn't reliable and shouldn't be used, if you're not 100% sure it's a milk snake or snake with mimicry, stay away from it. If you google coral snakes you'll see there is way more exceptions to the rhyme than snakes that follow it. However I will say that coral snakes are notoriously calm and unlikely to bite so much so that they don't make an antivenom for it anymore because it was expensive, goes off quickly and wasn't being used not because they can't make it.

I jumped out of my kayak and lost my $450 fishing rod and reel it was by far the scariest thing that has ever happened to me I think I need counselling. I was casting lures into the water and I felt something touch me in my leg I looked over and there it was a 1.5 to 2 meter eastern Brown snake I don’t think I will be able to go fishing for some time now I will be always thinking about a snake coming into my kayak.

    • Don't even worry about it, I've lived here for 10 years and I've only seen 3 pythons, 2 of which were already dead on the road. There must of been 100s of snakes that I never saw. If you're in known snake areas, always wear good boots, thick jeans and that'll minimise the chance of a bite dramatically. It's always a good idea to keep a snake bite kit handy at home and in the car with some compression bandages. Learn how to properly use them, practice a few times and you'll be fine. You won't find pit vipers in Australia, but just in case anyone from the U.S reads this, *do not use compression bandages if you're bitten by a pit viper like a rattle snake* The only people who get bitten are idiots that try to stir it up, kill or catch it.
