Todays episode sees us completing our first big project here on our Portugal Farm Renovation project. A very exciting episode in which the boys are over the moon to see Mario arrive with his big digger, and some serious stone work gets put into place.

  • I comment occasionally and often read comments, but one thing I haven't noticed, could be because I don't read them all, but nobody comments about how absolutely gorgeous you are, Tara. I just thought I'd spotlight on you with my comment today because you truly are a stunner! . No need to get jealous John, I'm an old lady. 😅.

  • I'm 72 and decided I want to drive a digger and build stone walled gardens when I grow up!😊 Great job family and builders!! This video was awesome!!Good on you!!❤❤

  • Is there anything better than strolling around a market, picking out plants and returning home and planting them, watering them in and sitting back and admiring them ahhhhhhh.

  • I was told in high school that I should not go to college and just find a retail job somewhere. I just retired from being a daycare assistant after 38 years and was paid very well on an aboriginal reserve on the edge of a lake with the Rocky Mountains overlooking us. My commute everyday was to drive around the lake passing maybe 1 or 2 vehicles, while beholding incredible views. BLISS. Dream job to cuddle babies all day!

  • Tara your ever present attitude of gratitude is so nice to witness. Being grateful even in the hard times is a game changer. There is no room for resentment or anger when we are grateful. I feel it’s a humble way to acceptance. I’m loving seeing John lawn finished. ✅

  • John, you definitely should have been a professional landscaper! The garden is definitely your happy place as every project begins with a garden landscape first.

  • as a child I always wanted to be a vet. The careers advisor when I was 14/15 realised I was not bright enough and suggested instead I deliver animal feed to farmers! For the past 38 years I have been a social worker!

  • At 15, my High School aptitude test recommended I was best suited to become a mechanic or a nurse!!! I indeed became an RN. My “mechanical” tendency stood me well as I was adept at repairing medical equipment!!

  • Love watching the Portuguese stone masons. Their spatial awareness is incredible. Watching them at the Scotters building their retaining walls, base walls and bathroom was mesmerising. ❤

  • You are so lucky to have Mario in your lives, his work on that wall is beautiful

  • My son, several years ago, did the same type of careers advice survey. It suggested he should be a florist in Saudi Arabia! He has never gardened or wanted to live abroad. Can only presume because he is musical and artistic, they decided something creative would suit.

  • Mario is very skilled and creative! But the best about Mario is his patience and love for the little ones!

  • I’m always happier after watching your family interact with each other. The work Mario and John did on the walls is beautiful and I know after the plants continue to grow it will be even more beautiful. Much love and thanks to you all.

  • Fascinating to see how they slice off rocks and the teamwork in action without any verbal conversation. Each one knows what the next step is. Amazing

  • It is so interesting to see the skills of an experienced stone mason in action. From what appeared to be a pile of random sized stones came a beautiful stone wall. Well done!
