  • Most NATO small arms ammuntion through 25mm and 40mm for Mk19 is delivered from the factories ready to use already on clips or links to rapidly load magazines and belt fed weapons. The cans are easily opened without use of tools. Soviet era ammunition involves some assembly required. Often requiring preparation in the rear away from combat to be utilized in belt fed machine guns. Requiring can openers to open the spam can style container.

  • 1:40 - DShK is not a sniper rifle - it's a heavy machine gun which normally is used on vehicles because it requires at least three soldiers to operate.

    • No its ukrainian made dshk sniper variant, its more precise than original and less recoil, efective range is 2km. Its mby 3-5 years old variant so there is almost no info about it.

  • 3/12/22 - I have very good information on Ukrainian defenses that cannot be photo documented for obvious reasons. Well trained combat engineers have been in charge of constructing defenses for the past 17 days in Ukraine. They had a large inventory of old soviet T-72s and other armor that was no longer considered serviceable and had not been maintained. Some had been used as donor vehicles for parts. Those vehicles with serviceable guns that were in inventory, and damaged vehicles with working guns that have been captured, have been moved using recovery vehicles and cranes to construct armored infantry fortifications that block the streets and roads into Kyiv. They drain the fluids out, and fill the vehicles with sandbags, leaving room for the main gun to operate. Destroyed armor is also recovered, stacked, and packed with sandbags. These fortifications block the streets, stop armor, have passages for soldiers and ammunition, and have shooting ports.

  • The tripod mounting point for the DShK isn't good. Middle mounting is good if you want to sway the weapon fast. For precise fire over long distance, a mounting point in front is better.

  • 対戦車兵器ってある程度訓練してないとなかなか当たらないんですよね… 距離感を間違えることはよくあるので、やっぱり大事なのは扱える兵士の数なんでしょうな

    • @@John-pi5ti ウクライナは古い兵器ばかりやからな。 ジャベリンだって三年前にやっと投入されたんだぜ。 自動照準器とかに関しては軍事企業なら導入出来るかもしれんが、高すぎて無理。 アメリカですらなかなか導入出来てない自動照準器をウクライナが直ぐに導入出来るかと言われれば答えはNo 高い 導入しても自動照準器自体の訓練必要 デリケート すぐに導入出来るかは分からん。 それなら7.62ロシアン弾とか9×18mmロシア規格弾送ったりARとかMG送った方が良い。

    • Those Russian sardine can, ammo containers are very well sealed until they are opened. Once opened you cannot reseal them. I think those old Soviet ammo cans could possibly last for hundreds of years. As long as they stay sealed.

    • @@chadhardwick1780 they are repurposed vehicle mounted, anti aircraft machine guns. They fitted a shoulder stock, pistol grip and a massive muzzle brake to control the recoil. It's still not a sniper rifle but with the addition of the scope it's good at laying a few bursts of .50cal quite accurately over 1000 meters.

  • I've never seen a dshka with a stock and muzzle brake like that one. Pretty neat conversion Edit...I just watched a video showing ukrainian mechanics in an autobody shop are modifying captured MGs off of tanks and apcs that the troops are bringing them. They're mounting stocks and optics on them so as to make them man portable.

    • I wonder if they are already implementing a more western NCO centric command structure. I would hope so because it's clearly superior to the Russian system with little to no squadron level communication apparently. If the Ukrainians can adopt the best of NATO and Eastern Block tactics they will be unstoppable

    • @@blakelowrey9620 A NCO leadership at the Platoon level is the way to go. Soviet style operations required commissioned officers. One for the oversight of the troops and a political officer. I never could understand the purpose for a political officer. Only used to further brainwash people for the continuance of the communist party system and Marxist ideals. If all the officers were killed off then the entire group couldn't do anything. Had to wait in place until an officer replacement occured. In the western kind of leadership. If the officer is killed, the Platoon Sargent is the replacement. Then the buck Sargent's step in. This goes on and on until the lowest ranking private is the leader. Until the mission is completed.

  • Please dont forget that in the Soviet era many of those Manufacturing plants and deaig bureaus werei Ukraine. T54 and T64 are of Ukranian design and manufacture. Probably a big part why they stick to their upgraded T64.

  • 10:45 They didn't use Aiming Posts. If they have precision GPS its fine, but i'm sure they didn't use GPS in drill. Every single shot is very important. That drill was useless. Artillery's recoil makes its position changed.

    • I think that is why Russian equipment has had large white markings painted on the sides. There is a video on here about a Russian anti aircraft missile unit captured, and instead of the farmers handing it over to their side troops, they set fire to it, oh well.

    • @@stefanm5636 Russia does have some modern weapons but they still use loads of old soviet ones, just upgraded with more electronics and such but look very simular outside. Such as they have ~400 t-90, 450 T-80, and 2,000 t-72 in active service, meaning around 75% are considered soviet made
