Beard! 😅 Love ya both, great episode and keep the good times rolling. Lastly, can't wait for Tom to eventually smash Jones. Dude is hiding and being protected.

  • Jon didn't wanna move up and fight any of the heavyweight champions in their primes. He didn't wanna fucking know about prime velazquez (rightly so because Cain would have been a motherfucker for Jones to deal with in my opinion), he could also have fought prime Jds, Prime Werdum who was demolishing Jones teammates consistently (he thought that if Belfort could nearly take his arm off, god knows what would have happened in this match up)he didn't wanna know about prime stipe either. When asked about this potential match up around in 2017-2018 from memory I reckon he answered that it was one thing to fight a heavyweight another thing to fight a good heavyweight. He didn't wanna face do at heavyweight either he would rather fight a drained to 205 38 year old Daniel cormier at ufc 214 but had to cheat to secure a victory (de had the balls to step up directly after beating volkan to ko stipe while being 39 and 5'9 and fat as hell despite stipe being on an absolute run of 3 consecutive title defenses including a last impressive victory in Boston albeit against a 4 year in MMA inexperienced Ngannou with holes in his game at that point wrestling and grappling wise but who was incredibly dangerous nevertheless... ...The first time we ever heard about a real potential move up was against Brock after he beat de the second time but guess what he tested positive for steroids (oh | shouldn't have mentioned that sorry) ...even though he walked around at the same weight as the heavyweights I mentioned on fight night. He only wants to fight stipe because he is in his 40s and hasn't won a fight since 2020 and got absolutely demolished in one of the most one siding, brutal beat downs and best title winning performance ever by Francis Ngannou (best heavyweight ever IMO but that's unpopular). You said the first time ngannou called him out was in 2021, I may be wrong but I fully remember ngannou calling him out even in 2019 and in 2020 once the ufc restarted during the pandemic (Twitter exchanges between both fighters show that. Jones even dared compare the danger of facing ngannou to Thiago santos despite not being able to finish the latter on one knee). He didn't wanna face Francis unless he got paid 30 mil, didn't wanna fight Sergei who was the next top ranked guy after Gane (extremely one dimensional fighter with no wrestling and grappling defense by the way), doesn't wanna face Aspinall to unify the belt. At what point do his fans(there seem to be kind of a cult going on with morons claiming that he would never lose regardless of age, lack of peds or the weightclass) get tired of making excuses for all these fights not happening and realize the 1 common denominator.

  • The title means nothing these days, just create an interim title just to add a trinket to a PPV, but ultimately it's as worthless as the BMF title. Not taking anything from Aspinall at all, he should be the next challenger, but it's stupid decisions like this that make the titles worthless in the sport, but money is money at the end of the day. Eventually though Aspinall will get his undisputed title fight.
