Packing a Suitcase with a 150-Ton Hydraulic Press
In this video, we'll take on a unique challenge: fitting an entire week's worth of clothing and essentials into a carry-on suitcase using a 150 ton hydraulic press. Watch as we expertly select items for a week-long trip and then use the raw power of the hydraulic press to compress everything into a carry-on sized bag. We'll explore the limits of packing efficiency and the strength of the suitcase, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in travel packing. Will the suitcase withstand the pressure? Can we really fit a week's worth of items into such a small space? Tune in to find out, and enjoy this fun and slightly unconventional approach to travel packing!

I want to see the unpacking!
I will try to unfold these for next week's video and show how it went :D
@@HydraulicPressChannelleave the clothes soaking in water for a few hours and see if they unfold that way
@@Alfis26 maybe put it In the washing machine 😅
@@HydraulicPressChannelI want you to do an actual permanent press on some dress clothes. At 300 tons. I know it will work, I just wonder how well.😅 Also I love seeing how successful you guys are becoming with your channel. Have loved it since your first videos.
@@HydraulicPressChannelwould like to see the unpack video... can you share, please?
You need to try to unpack those clothes by putting them in warm water. Kinda like those small pressed towels you sometimes see in stores.
That was my thought exactly.
let's hope the permanent wrinkles will be all in the right places.
Good idea, maybe NordVPN can sponsor the decryption.
You’re right! I never considered that! 🤔
That's one way to ruin your clothes forever. It'd be a helluva lot cheaper to pay for extra baggage.
Ok I love your videos but this is a whole new level of hilarity and awesomeness. It's amazing how much variety and awesome you manage to pack into your channel with just one tool, no pun intended. 😉
I'll keep this in mind for future trip to Finland. 🔨 😂
i really want to see you try to unfold one of those clothes capsules now. i also wonder if they could be used to make more grinder discs that shouldnt exist
And let them grind some airport security equipment to show them who’s the boss
Yes, I was a bit dissapointed we haven't seen Laury get dressed in some of the unfolded stuff. 🙂
I bought cotton mini towels presswd in small pucks the size of juice bottle cap. When you put them in warm water they expanded and became regular flannel cotton towels. You can make these with the logo of the channel for travel towels as merchandise. I found them very useful.
One of the things I like most about your videos is hearing both of you laugh and enjoy doing what you do. Thanks for brightening my day with your sense of humor!
Best mans response that I have ever heard, "I'm just better at crushing shit." I almost fell out of my chair laughing!
I would like to see airport security go through that looking for contraband!
`Madly swabbing everything for drugs and explosives but coming up empty!
Going to need a hydraulic steam press iron to get those wrinkles out.
I bet the security check at the airport will have a blast checking that suitcase.
Can't wait to see the new press working... that will be fun!
Even after vacuum cleaner clothes packing I always imagined how such travelers gonna re-pack all of those at the customs after a random luggage check... But after HP it's even more impossible task.
Just bring your 150t hydraulic press with you.
Vacuum packing for travel, only use your body weight to drive air out of the bags, then it will repack.
He's taking a trip to the factory. His new 300 pound hydraulic press is ready. He making the next video there.
I have a little hand pump that came with my vacuum bags that I travel with. Not as good as the vacuum cleaner but it works. Portable press might also not be as good
@@bytesabre I have one as well..need to use external power supply..eg; a battery pack like you use to charge a phone..But I now use ..hand pressed ones..You rolled them as tight as poss to expel the air..So no need for the pump..They work pretty well..I'm not worried about creases.(not vain)..as long as my clothes are clean...Plus they have the benefit of helping to protect clothes against water if your luggage is not waterproof..Like when it rains during tranfers.
Nice! Have you tried a 2-piece outer press tool? Imagine the outer ring cut into two C-shapes, joined with an interlocking lug-clevis hinge, and a cam lever closing clamp on the other side? You could perform this kind of operation so much faster; just unlock the cam clamp and remove the item, lock it down again, and you're ready for another cycle
I might build one like this for test when I have the time!
@@HydraulicPressChannel I reckon Lauri should show us some of those clothes unpacked at the other end.. Maybe proof of concept by wearing the clothes to the factory 😛
I wonder if with solid items a simple false bottom would work? As long as it's thick enough and has a decent fit within the tube. Then the other end would have a tapered opening, so you only need to flip it over and press out the bottom and puck.
Liquids/gels might leak through the cracks where the 2 half meet together.
One thing I love about you guys is the way you speak English. Your accent is musical, I like it so much ❤️ It's a minor point, considering all the variety of explosive entertainment you've provided over the years. Thank you for the unbridled joy you've given me.
I love to see the look on the hotel staff laundromat cleaning service faces when you hand that clothes in!
So glad to hear you are keeping the old press too! 😊
"Today we are going to pack our old press to get serviced, using new one!"
OH MY GOD THE MEGA PRESS ISNT CANCELLED!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Safe travels Lauri! Looking forward to seeing what you do with a new, more powerful press!
Very clever. You never cease to amaze me. Technology and heart.
Well done, you have outdone Marie Kondo! Now I would like to see the face of the customs officer checking out the contents of that suitcase. Please film it!
It would be interesting to see everything unpacked and washed to see how much damaged was inflicted.
Best travel and holiday advice!
Congratulations on your new Press! Can’t wait to see the Results!❤♾️🇺🇸
Literally hooting with laughter here. I'm just about to go on holiday... 😁
Cant wait for 300 ton press!
This is one of your best video ideas so far. Props.
So simple yet so good
New press. Exciting! Thanks for your efforts mate!
You two are a wholesome fun pair!
The new press looks great, I am looking forward to seeing that. Regarding the bunker, a quick word of warning if you ever intend to rapidly decompress any gas containing thing inside it, it is surprising to see what doing that can do inside even a looslely enclosed volume. I did some work for a gas cylinder manufacturer here in the UK, they had a small test building for destruction testing their gas cylinders (the kind of bottles you might have for argon, acetylene, etc. in your workshop), normally they did the testing with pressurised water, so there was no significant decompression, but apparently they once did a special test with compressed gas (probably nitrogen or something), they prepared the room by opening all of the windows and the door but still it blew the roof right off the building and cracked the concrete walls. My advice would be tie the walls together at the top (roof eaves level) and have the roof fairly flimsy so that it can be blown off easily and allow the pressure out. And probably still stop short of exploding a 50 Litre compressed gas bottle at 230 bar inside it.
Gives new meaning to "permanent press" your dress clothes. Actually that's what you should do permanent press on some dress clothes. I'll bet that'll definitely work!
I'm very excited to see the new press!
I am a simple man, this kind of video title already puts a smile on my face.
It would be funny to see the reactions if you sent that suitcase through the airport security scanner.
Thank you for the idea for my new business at a kiosk in the airport check-in area! When you unpack this you should pick the most interesting piece of clothing and wear it as the uniform for this channel.
Customs/Airport security will absolutely love that! I'm guessing the best way to un'fold' those clothes would be to drop one in a dryer to refresh it first!! Happy New Year to you and yours!
Nah! Just throw in a cup of water and stand back. Way back!
6:57 pov: you on the customs control on the air port xD
Congrats on the new press!
That was awesome! Congrats on the new press, can't wait to see it.
This is genius, I love you guys 💛
Great story! Most interesting video in a bit! Excited for next week!
This Channel never fails!
Wow! So amazing, what a great innovation Lauri. You could make MILLIONS selling these highly convenient packing devices!
Good luck on your flight Hanna and Lauri be safe.
Looking forward for the new press! :D
This was really funny, I can't wait for the new press
So excited for the new press! I remember when you were planning a 1000 tonne press and I asked about it every video!
What size do you need to crush an entire packet of A4 paper? 5000 tonnes?
Did you check the pockets first?
This was a creative idea, and a fun video. I really wanted to see you try to unfold one of the clothes capsules though.
would it work like those towels when u just dip them in water
How do you get the stuff back in on the way back though?
Put the bricks in warm water and try to untangle them, it would be cool to see how they look!
When you carry on luggage weighs 50kg and you try to pretend it is not heavy ;)
WTF is a KG?

@@starbattles1Really?
@@SparkyOne549I guess it's one of them dinkies that skipped school.
Carry-on usually doesn't have weight limitations anyway.
Very well packed
Congrats
Can’t wait for the 300 ton press!!
I wanted to see some of them unfolded again!
Finally, you have find something actually useful usage for the press :D
May you and wife anni have 100% awesome 2024🎉🎉
Great idea!!! Im actually going to Finland in 2 weeks, that will make the stuff fit :D
Will the new press be able to make ice-9 (or ice-7 I can't remember which one is the metastable state)?
I remember visiting a lab that tested slightly explosive technical failures . Their safety walls were thicker than 10 cm of steel reinforced concrete with really tiny observation windows between the control room and the test room . There was also a dangerous power room that we visited with the power off .
Thanks for the fun content as always, guys! Karlfazer though 😭 the best chocolate I’ve ever had, but very hard to find in the UK
What was the final weight of the suitcase?
This was hilarious 😂
You need to give that bag to some prank channel to attemp to pass airport security
How do you get it all back home?
This channel is so messed up, I love it to death! 😅
I don't even need to see the video, the title and subject made me laugh so much!
I am sorry to hear that you are not getting rid of the old press :( I was hoping that it would end up on Facebook Marketplace for me to buy and fix up :)
Next week's video should be a fashion show and taste test! 😂😂😂
Reminds me of those tablet-sized towels you can get which turn back into a towel when you put them in water. Would love to see one of those clothes pucks put in water to see how close to usable it is when it's opened out again.
Good idea guy
I would love to see someone rock up to airport security with an overweight suitcase full of hydraulic pressed clothes and try to explain it. XD
How will you repack the clothes when you're returning from your trip?
Work great for plane ride to vacation spot but when its time to go home you may need to find the local press person to pack up your suitcase again!!
The new building looks great and I’m glad it will be bulletproof but how about the windows? Will they be shrapnel proof? My wife was watching over my shoulder and could not believe what she was seeing. I don’t think she will let me buy a press to pack for our next trip. Just as well, I hate unfolding stuff.
I'm not sure if this would crumble your clothes too much but you could rotate the circles you make and crush them on different sides a few times to make them into really small cubes
It would be funny to try and return a shirt that you bought, after crushing it. Great episode!😂
Finally!!
How much did the new press cost? Btw great video!
Seems like a great upgrade on those big bags you shrink with a vacuum cleaner. I’ve been using them to beat Ryanair’s stupid luggage size requirements for a while
300 tons? Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😊
"Sir what is the reason for your travel today?" "I'm just good at crushing sh!t" 🤣
how will you pack to come back?
I dare you to make a video of you taking this to the airport and allowing TSA to examine your luggage! All on video! I would like to see the expression on people's faces!😂
You forgot to include an iron ... (though in the US, they are often included with a motel room) ... but there will likely be some wrinkles in that clothing. Love your videos.
How does it compare with the obvious alternative, packing the same clothes in a big vacuum bag and using the atmosphere to apply pressure? Your method is obviously slower, but is it at least tighter?
Fantastic - with room leftover!! Careful - the airlines are going to see this and start to do the same with passengers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew a lady, many years ago, that had a t shirt compressing business. She gave me one that was about the size of a dishwashing sponge. I bet you could fit 50-60 in that suitcase.
I thought my wife could pack a suit case, but you got her beat. Happy buying.
Lol. Now you need to unfold one.... Maybe in the washing machine... :) Congrats on the new press!
It could be very fast and efficient if you had a press die with the same base dimensions as the bag but much higher. Then you could just fill it and press everything at once into one solid block. I think the press is strong enough for the larger area.
Since there is those hydraulic pressed towels/wash clothes, If you can chuck a clothes tablet in the washing machine, run a cycle, then dry it, maybe some of the clothes would come back. If you have them around, might be a neat follow up.
Ok, now take it to the airport video. I'm ready
Don't forget to pack an iron for those creases. Haha!
Unfolding will be presented at Hydraulic Pull Channel.
"We don't have enough money for two plane tickets" Lauri: I have an idea
I would have liked to see you try to unfold some of these :)
