IT'S FINALLY DONE!
Last Life is an SMP series where all members spawn with a set amount of lives between 2-6. If someone gets down to one life left, they turn red, and they become hostile to other players. There is also a boogeyman chosen every session that has to make a kill on a green or yellow person or else they will start the next session on their red life.
I tried my best to make sure everyone had their moment to shine, but understand that I couldn't include every moment. I included my personal favorite parts of the series and the ones that felt the most iconic.
Also, a disclaimer, there are most definitely mistakes in this video. Life amounts being wrong, characters in the wrong scenes, character designs being wrong, etc. I did the best I could for the size of the project this was. Also, for most of the cast, this was my first time drawing them, and I'm not as familiar with some of the people included. So apologies if any of the designs feel wrong.
That being said, please understand that I am not open to unsolicited criticism or correction.

this just proves that the Last Life series and/or Hermitcraft could be adapted into an animated series and i would watch the HELL out of 'em. they're both more dramatic and emotional and wholesome than most shows out there

My favorite portrayal is the interpretation of the laughter as pained crying, as it just contrasts the original clip so much

I really love how this accurately explains last life in such a short time. The part where Mumbo got engulfed in flames by scars lava had to be one of my favorite parts

You are singlehandedly why last life is my favorite life series. The storytelling in your animation was what made me check out more povs and end up loving team best. Really impressive work!

@hackerz 236 It’s based on a Minecraft SMP series called Third Life/Last Life (they changed the name when they started Season 2 - the animatic so specifically season 2)
My favorite part is when Scar looks up with red eyes just as the song says "here we go", almost like it's calling back to all the destruction caused by Scar being the first red name the previous season. It's so good.
Probably one of the coolest references here imo, he was so ready and set on the chaos.
Actually! I noticed that whenever the person was the boogeyman they'd have specks of red in their eyes! It's a cool detail that really ties it all together. :)

Trying to comment on things sometimes instead of only watching them over and over, so here’s a list of all my favorite bits: - the opening notes, with each little group (especially BEST being in order) - Grian’s grumpy little face getting put back to yellow after Bdubz killed him - BEST being wholesome tbh - the fact you draw Lizzie with fairy wings bc of the Fairy Fort - Cleo’s little laugh and smile I adore it - Cleo and Etho getting bubbled up out of the ground for their attack - slowing the animation down to focus on the four remaining players before the final showdown

When this animation came out, 2 years ago, i didnt have any idea who grian was, hermitcraft, nothing, and i watched this animation and i was like "woah!!" And i wanted to see whatever it was, when i found out that it was Minecraft i was so happy because i was in the dsmp back then and i loved minecraft, now, after watching all of the series and every grian video, hermitcraft is my hyperfixation and so is grian, so thank you, youre the reason im into hermitcraft and the life series.

THIS IS SO GOOOD, the little red in the eyes to show the boogeyman and how it fades after they kill??? Dude that slight movement up on etho as he was midair and his eyes switching to green AAA. Sooo good, had to pause and rewind so many scenes this is delightful.

what about when lizzie was killed, she wasnt boogey but she was a red name and her eyes were red ( 1:54 ) as you can see at 0:26 both scar and joel have red + green eyes, meaning thats what the boogey eyes look like as they were both boogeymen that time ^ also to clarify if your boogey and your either at green or yellow hearts (bc red cant be boogey) then its red + what heart level your on in the amv

The only thing I hate about these last life animations is how everybody portrays mumbos end crystals as weapons of mass destruction, when most the time he is laughing while completely missing.

The animation is timed so perfectly with the music (and some of the scenes go so well with the lyrics, like ZombieCleo lighting things on fire - 'I'm up to something / I hope you like the show'). Let's take a moment to just kinda o7 for lizzie, all she wanted was to live with her friends, her scary zombie friend her loyal knight and big b. Then she got peer pressured into taking the enchanting table for a low price, so the handlers could get it off their hands. Her best friend turned on her for big b's mistake and burnt her home, she got rejected soon after by her only friends and alliance, and after that they all became a alliance without her again! o7 lizzie, the fairy lady

HOW SCAR GETS FORCED BACK TO YELLOW IS AMAZING
I've watched a lot of minecraft animations, Hermitcraft animations, 3rd Life animations, Last Life animations, even some Manhunt animations, but I think this might just be the best minecraft animation I've ever seen! The dedication to make something of this length, the shear quality of every single image, the fact that it was easy to tell who was who in the animation, the coverage of, to my recollection, every major event over the course of the series, and the flawless syncing of transitions with the music! This entire video is just *muah* , chef's kiss! Absolute perfection! You should be super proud of this!

When put in the form of an animatic, for some reason the concept of Last Life seems a lot scarier. Maybe it's the amount of death portrayed in the video, but either way, I love the animation and the thrill it gives!

Not Mumbo watching Grian get shot then immediately being attack by Grian. This was great. Also, this makes me want like a Webtoon comic series about this. Seeing everyone with red eyes be all cool and murdery, lol. The more I rewatch it the more I see. Watching Scar go red like 8 times because the man just can't stay alive in Minecraft is also great.
I was just able to get around to watch this and WOW! Absolutely incredible work Rusty. The camera movements and transitions between each of the scenes were so dynamic and fluid, and you were able to hit the key points of the entirety of LL without it feeling too adrupt or overwhelming. Fantastic from start to finish! Loved seeing you work on it during streams as well.

A single animation ANIMATION! Introduced and got me to watch 3-6 MINECRAFT SERIES!! QSMP, Last life( Lizzie's POV ), 3rd life ( Grian's POV ), Last life ( Grian's POV), Double life ( Grian's POV ) , etc..
Ahhh, this has still got to be one of the best animatics I have ever seen. It will always and forever be my absolute favorite 💜
After watching both series, a load of animatics and also hermitcraft I have concluded that Scar is the main character 🤣 he just gives off the biggest main character vibes and everyone interacted significantly with him.

Scar seemed like the primary antagonist in this for some reason, and honestly I love it
I love how Iconic some of the hermits skins are like I saw Grians collared shirt and haircut and immediately knew it was him.
This just convinced me that the general premise of the Life series could be used to make an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TV show: Imagine a serious series where a bunch of people are trapped in a fantasy world where they resurrect after dying, hunted by a mysterious, invisible entity that possesses them and forces them to kill each other over and over again, with each death corrupting them further and further, until finally they're too corrupted for the world's restorative properties to work on them. If that doesn't sound like a great premise for an action/horror series, I don't know what does.
This song is absolutely perfect, and the way you used the specific lyrics for different parts is amazing! Like soooo many others, I keep coming back to rewatch! I don't know if anyone else has noticed/mentioned it, but I love that every time that specific "here we go" in the other voice is played it's a scene with Scar. Kind of a subtle nod to him being an integral part in so many of the stories that unfolded, perhaps?

I keep watching this over and over. It’s so good! I love the part where Grian turns on Mumbo, the murderous intent on Grian’s face and the horror on Mumbo’s. I also loved the part where Scar fell into the Southlands trap, like a doofus. The subtle way his hood floats up, the look of shock on the Southlanders’ faces, the way it doesn’t actually say he fell into a trap but you can just TELL. Amazing!!
When I watched this for the first time, I wasn't even in the fandom yet and I think I found it at random when looking at animations, during that time i didn't understand who and what they were doing. I just remeber being BigB and Lizzie in one very specific frame. In 2023, I rewatched it(in the fandom) and i came across that very specific frame. Everything clicked after that. Now, probably a year late I have come back to say that this is one of my favorite animations and was I think the first animation that made me love animation and this fandom. Absolutly love your work!❤💛💚
I wasn’t paying attention and when the ad ended and the song (that fits this animation very well btw) started playing, I just started dancing and forgot all about the video I watched that ad for lmao. Dude, I can’t get over how sick Scar’s design is!!! I love your use of his magic, especially when he goes Red! Like holy shit, that was so cool!!! I love the magic wisps just wrapping around him and I can’t get over how much I love the way you portrayed his entire story!! Also, TANGO GIVING HIM THE LIFE. AND BDUBS TAKING TANGO’S AAAA. I LOVE HOW YOU DID ALL OF TEAM BEST IN THIS, ESPECIALLY ETHO ATTACKING SCAR. BUT THE WAY YOU DID BDUBS BETRAYAL WAS SO SMOOTH AND POOR TANGO.

This series was bait for really freaking amazing yet angsty animatics and animations and things, and I’m not complaining, the series was good, the animatics were good, and everybody is happy.
In the first 2 seconds your already explaining the teams, Team B.E.S.T. , The South Lands, Scott and Pearl's Alliance, The Fairy Alliance and The Wizard Duo Nothing was lost in the story, even smaller details like Tango giving a life to BDubs

this is so cool, the people's character designs were thought out and kept to the original person's character and also was easily reconisable and allowed the reteilling of the story to feel very new and exiting again!

After watching this I immediately ran to watch Last Life so that i could understand what’s going on and let me just say that this video just got ten times better! I wish there was more I could do than just give it a thumbs up but that’s all KZhead has. I can’t stop smiling when I watch this! The story telling, the creativity, and your art are all aspects of what makes this video so spectacular, AMAZING JOB!!!!

i come back to this regularly, and i always wish i could like it more than once! It never fails to get my feelings all activated, i genuinely react to the story (even though i've seen it many times before), and it makes me wanna go back and watch last life again. The way you interpret the scenes and happenings of a blocky, stiff-ish, game into this flowing, beautiful, and animated cinematic experience is beyond me - but it is amazing!! i cant wait to see what you do for double life!:)
I agree... This animatic has gotten me into animatics in general and this one is one of the best ones I have found for minecraft. I can't stop watching this and it has gotten to the point that I have somehow managed to incorporate this into an art project that I have been working on

I only watched Grian and Ldshadowlady but I recommend you watch people like Cleo, Bdubs and others in the shadow alliance cause they have completely different things going on
A good rule of thumb, is at least one per alliance to get a good ruling about what happened.
