Ppl who really need the g league they don’t send him lol bro 😮😂
Mike stop being a professional hater and start doing more positive videos, you post nothing but gossip level nba talk. Big feminine energy coming from you mikey
I really hate that a lot of these sports KZheadrs don't at least mention a disclaimer *in the video* about the dangers of gambling and that folks should at least be 21 years or older to play and that if they have an addiction to dial up the gambling addiction hotline. Like you get paid for these ads, sure @TheFlightMike but man, it's still gambling and people will lose money regardless, at least add a disclaimer. Like have your sponsor but at least be ethical about it
Wont promote his content as long as he promotes gambling
the fact that philly was able to move that contract is still wild to me.
Que Wilders voice, to this day!! 😂🤣💀💀
I thank my lucky stars every single day
h o w
Only bc Harden completely sabotaged his final month as a Net.
It’s wild to me you think it’s wild, how could you or anyone know his health would be where it’s at years after the trade?
I think the real problem with Ben is that he lacks the ability to differentiate between motivation and discipline. See a lot of players could really care less about their career as long as they make millions. This what sets apart the greats vs the average, which is basically discipline vs motivation. Everyone is motivated to get something but once it’s gotten the motive is gone motivation is jus a temporary feeling. The greats like Lebron, curry, Jordan, Kobe etc were disciplined. Not everyone could be disciplined because it takes a lot of mental effort and dedication unfortunately ben doesn’t have this ability which is why he never improved since his rookie year. Honestly this is a big problem that most humans have and why they can’t tap in their potential. Motivation is what gets you started but discipline is what keeps you going. I said this in a different video but i think people have to understand this his biggest issue
Extremly well said .
I 100% agree
You bodied that. Great post.
The greats/legends aren't motivated by money. They are motivated by winning and their legacy. Players who are motivated by money fall off, quickly. Look at Jordan Poole.. Money was his motivation. Now he couldn't care less about anything else. He isn't motivated to be great.
So you're spot on. Discipline is easier to have when your goals go way beyond "Getting a bag".
It blows my mind that Ben Simmons was picked #1 overall in the draft, had an NBA franchise build a system around his skill set and not his MVP teammate, won rookie of the year, was being hailed as the next Magic or Lebron, got paid a max contract even though he never improved beyond his rookie year, had multiple All-Star selections.. All that without ever learning how to shoot the ball outside a few feet from the rim, including free throws. Crazy!!
Philly built the team around embiid. Why else do you think they drafted another PG/playmaker and also traded for Butler who isn't a shooter but much more a passing SF.
@@jake8748they initially built around ben. I.e. his rookie szn i.e. colangelo.
@Yeen_ they built around a defensive pass first guy by drafting and trading for playmakers who weren't always great shooters? Why did they trade Covington and Muscala and Saric for players that didn't really fit with Ben but did fit with Embiid? With Ben you need space and shooting and they traded that for Harris and Butler. On top of trading 2x PGs after Ben including a number 2 pick and then Maxey though he was a amazing pick-up as late as he went.
@Pler1978 Jimmy was let go of to keep Tobias Harris. They couldn't afford both. It wasn't a choice between Simmons and Butler as Simmons already had a contract. Butler's prime didn't match Embiid and Simmons like Harris did.
They thought Ben Simmons was going to be a better player than Joel embiid can you believe 😢😢😢🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😂😂😊😅😊
Ben Simmons is an inspiration. He showed you don’t need to learn to shoot to earn millions in basketball 😂
He been planned this. He never wanted to play ball all he wanted to do is be rich and famous and now he has his out
Yep you’re right and he scammed them out of a whole Lotta money
Nets took a big gamble and lost, it happens. Simmons' future grandchildren are financially set for life, so he'll be OK if he's out of the league after his contract expires. This is unfortunate but not a tragedy for any involved.
Maybe you be surprise
I never automatically count people's grandkids as set for life. People can blow money fast as hell. Depends how he manages it.
I year left on his contract.
Not really harden woulda forced his way out
@@LivinProoofespecially when you read all those articles of NBA millionaire to bankruptcy lists
And people were blaming phila instead of realizing Simmons is a fraud
Phila still sold last szn without ben lol
@@sethc2241 yea we had fat slow quitter James harden
@@sethc2241 Yeah and they woulda been out first round if they had Ben.
@@JonHop1ok they still sold regardless
@dashawnballard52 of course the did. 76ers are overrated. Embiid is a monster but Harden was washed n Maxey still needs experience. They ain't doing nothing this year either. And I'm from Philly. I'm not biased.
Been overrated since day 1. I don’t trust any top college prospect that can’t get there team to the ncaa tournament. They let in 68 TEAMS!!!!
Agreed. It's nuts that the top pick in the draft could take his team to the tourney. Pretty much every above average team from a big conference (like the SEC) gets in. That he couldn't take his team to that level is quite telling.
And in his final game they got rolled.
Or in other words the ncaa let's in any team that's actually good. Especially one with a top NBA prospect.
I’ve been saying the same thing. I can’t believe between were calling this dude the next lebron.
He left Philly told everybody he was ok now look at him
Never clicked so fast
You're a Ben Simmons fan?
He is done after his current contract is finished. His lack of motivation is crazy.
Ben Simmons is a video game addic. No one really talks about that. Can you imagine sitting and intensively gaming, and then going to compete hard in the most athletic league in the world. The shear forces become significantly higher on the joints because they're misaligned from sitting too much. No wonder Ben's getting injured and back nerves getting impinged.
Yep
At least he's good in 2k my team!! 🎉
He seemed like such an arrogant guy in every interview and clip seen of him. Very much knew he was better at basketball than the league and it came across as being better than others. I can see that being hard on your mental health after everything, loss of an ego and what not but can’t feel bad for a multi millionaire who bought into his own hype to early.
His basketball career was over as soon as he signed that $177 MILLION dollar contract with Philadelphia. Some people are just not in love with the game. Once you start getting that much money, you start realizing you have all kinds of options in your life. Basketball is just not in his heart.
I doubt it, its obvious his fall was about something mental, the guy was on his way to a hall of fame career. 177 mil? He could have made over half a billion is his career just being 80%of what he was. Its a mental block
@@ghsense2626 lol 80% of a no-peremiter shooting, no free-throw shooting PG that he was since LSU? He got found out and stopped working on other areas of his game. Russell Westbrook was drafted on a lesser skillset but massive potential due to his athleticism but he worked on his game every year and turned himself into a perennial triple double threat despite having low BBIQ. THAT was how half a billion was earned.
In the future players will most likely get paid after they play. Not before.
@@limonator8280 The NBA players association would never agree to it. For every Ben Simmons there are LaMelo Ball, Luka, SGA, Haliburton, D Fox, Trae Young, Austin Reaves, and many more who don't take their NBA contracts for granted.
thats not 100%correct all-star simmons coulda easily made half a billion@@onlydbrasko
Mike, this is the one video topic you make that makes me upset. You keep giving me hope that this waste of a roster spot will finally disappear never to be heard of again and every training camp he returns. 😭😭 My heart can't handle this disappointment much longer
i love the vids mike
Australian here. Please don't send Ben back here. Keep him in Brooklyn. We will even throw in some tasty magpies
hopefully this will be a cautionary tale to college players not to let the media hype you up into not trying new levels of play
@Ash_things38 no but that doesnt mean he shouldnt work on his game and just believe he is the greatest of all time
All the issues will become non-factor if he weren't so grossly overpaid. I understand that Philly gave him a supermax contract until end of 2024/25 season based on his potential back then. However, he did not manage to return the value due to injuries, mental health issues and confidence crisis. Once he becomes an unrestricted free agent, no team will offer anywhere near his current pay...if they even offer him at all. In the current league where scoring ability is increasingly more important, his offensive liability is becoming very difficult to hide. I am all for a person to stick to one's strengths, but by not sharpening his scoring ability, he risks becoming less and less relevant.
He can play all nba defense and defend 1-5 . I always say as long as u can defend you’re guaranteed a spot in the league
He’s mentally absolutely not ready. Injuries aside, he can’t make shots or won’t, he leads people on with pseudo reels. He and Zion and several others, should truly not be hyped so early on. And not get paid if they refuse to play. And there shouldn’t be any max deals unless at least 5 years of active play
You’ve obviously never tried to play basketball with a herniated disc and a failed back surgery.
Agreed. All this social media toxic waste and max extension at an early age, before they have ever proved anything, is effectively destroying careers.
It’s crazy that we are still talking about the harden trade from Houston to Brooklyn but it’s literally kinda holding this nets from just blowing it up but I like this nets team plus they will win games
With him leading the Nets in assists and rebounds I admit he got me helpfull and optimistic but it is the damn Ben Simmons cycle again
Yea bro is done ✔️ good video Mike
I still belive in Ben, he needs to get his confidence back. I think he fit really nice with splash brothers and warriors might be the team that gets his confidence back and be who he was 3 years back
Somehow I knew you were going to put that Kobe clip in somewhere 😂😂
This dude is an embarrassment but props to him for fleecing the league out of 100s of millions
Great videos! After his contract is up next year he may be out the league, sad, trade bridges to the Knicks !
How did Philly sell that contract in the first place 😂😂
lol I’m so early I can actively see the views go up 😂🔥
Why is the Prize picks logo Fan Duel logo upside down lol
7 years...what has Ben accomplished? What benchmark has he reached. What do we know him for, other than quitting.
I love your videos Mike, but that Kobe clip again??!
Suns vid plaese
I forgot this dude existed
Ben is one of the reasons I don't believe Supermax contracts are a good idea anymore.
Don’t feel bad his mentality effected his health and he was paid to perform not to sit out when he wants
Nets are 12-9 with multiple injuries, one of the most difficult schedules in the L and a few heartbreaking game winning daggers against them. Also the 6th best point differential while leading the L in rebounding. Quite incredible what they have been doing this year. Don't forget they are also stocked with a Top 4-5 amount of draft picks going forward. Seems like such a random and biased video 😟.
I haven't watched the video yet, but isn't the focus of the video about Ben Simmons carrer rather than the brooklyn nets?
As a nets fan. You right about this. Glad someone was paying attention to what we doing. At this point I’m really over Ben and wish him the best of luck. If there is any way to get him moved we gotta do it. So long as it doesn’t include crazy picks. We have a ton of picks, young players , potential all stars in bridges and cam Thomas. This team needs to now focus on finding a pg.
@@jethawk1172 can't wait till the league is suddenly shocked as to why the nets are better than they thought despite having 0 all stars
could argue mikal bridges is a perennial all star moving forward@@Jamellii
@@Fossilization the video's main subject was about Simmons but highlighted several times was just how "mediocre" the Nets as a team/franchise are/is.
Sad to say I called it last year. Once you dislocate your herniated disc, you will always have to get surgery to repair it if you are playing sports. It’s impossible for you not to stretch your back in basketball.
Bottom line is, if Ben played like I play him in 2K, he would win back to back to back MVP-s from 2018, and without barely attempting a mid range or 3point shot.
He doesn’t play on easy/rookie difficulty though.
@@bandito241 only Hall Of Fame 💯
He’s on the path to becoming the biggest bust of the past 20 seasons 😭
Not really, still a lot more players worse than Simmons. Even Wiggins is considered a bust by some for not living up expectations like how Kat and Ant did in their rookie seasons lol
@@darklord9581 that’s fair, I think he wants that magic Johnson type set up but doesn’t want to shoot him self
Well...he played well for quite a few years...let's not take that away from him lol. Unfortunate that he didn't achieve what people expected him to be though.
Benn Simmons only hope is to step up his intensity (which i dont see happening) and play the most elite defense possible. He would then become like a Draymond/Rodman type of player at the least.
7:16 talk about not shooting while showing a travel highlight lol
I un ironically think he'd be a great fit in Sacramento. Someone mentioned it before and i thought they were crazy. But the Kings have enough scoring and 3pt play to compensate. He'd be like a Trey Lyles/Harrison Barnes hybrid minus the shooting ability. Keep Keon Ellis. Trade Davion and picks?
I’m not a Ben Simmons fan at all, but I have one of those hip impingements and it has had me messed up for six months. I didn’t understand a lot of these injuries In nba that took so long to come back from. Like Derrick Rose when he hurt his knee and then is groin back in like 2012. When you rush back it’s so easy to mess it up again. I understand all that now.
He clearly was not “rushed back” hes had like 2 years to get right
He was not rushed back at all…..
Rushed back? Only Zion was babied more than this guy was man
Same here. I have right side nerve impinging in my lower back. I can do many things almost like normal, but sitting on the wrong surface and it can take me 20+ seconds to straighten my back. There's days, like today I have constant pain shooting down my right leg that makes it feel weak. The thing is I thought the issue was in my right hip originally aswell. The thought it was just back spasms the sciatic nerve then finally scanned to see a bulging disk pressing onto the nerve. I can do my job, occasionally exercise, generally struggle through normal life things but not way am I remotely close to peak ability in anything. Simmons won't be remotely close to 100% until the impinging is gone. Sadly it can be slow and hard to fix.
@sethc2241 derrick rose rushed back which is what he's referring to, come back too fast and too often another injury follows. Youngest MVP to bench player in couple of years. All because they rushed him back. Rose should still be one of the best PGs in the NBA not salary matching trade piece.
4 losses between number 1 or 9th place in the east.. Tbh I think alot still say "the east week af" but i feel its a shift to were they honestly arent too far off of the West..
It’s wild to me that he says he’s tryna get a rhythm my guy you’ve been on this team for years
Only one thing can be said, if Ben continues on this tragic path, he’ll definitely have a spot on the saddest promising rookies list when he leaves the NBA.
The next Kwame?
That Kobe quote, you can tell he was talking to Ben not the crowd when he said “he’ll regret it…”
Not surprised we have not seen a mahomes video yet
Its being made lol
@@TheFlightMike mahomes got, mad on a good call "it was a few inches" he was still offside and got mad about the correct call

What drives me crazy is a lot of his teammates superstars and just role player. Teammate had his back and the kid refused to work hard.
Right? Crazy that even with all the drama that players like KD and Kyrie had for the most part his teammates have had his back when there was obviously a problem.
How does the injury money work in basketball? In major league baseball, they generally take out insurance on major free agent contracts where the team can re-coop 75% of the players salary. The qualifier is they can not play any regular or post season games that year. Therefore, can the Nets get back some of his $40 million for 2024-2025? I'm sure the underwriter-Lloyd's of London-would fight them but I am curious.
People that get back surgery go downhill if the first surgery doesn’t work. The injury could easily be traveling up his spine. If he gets a surgery on the next disc up, the one above is going to fail next and repeat the cycle. The epidural steroid injection is there just minimize the inflammation that is pressing on the nerves on his back. If he is in pain, this soon after his ESI, the next step is to focus on physical therapy. Also, he could lose weight and try to play with a smaller body but he is at risk of losing his ability to play bully ball. The options aren’t looking good for him.
Like they always say players come and go in the nba. Ben unfortunately has faded into oblivion just like that while the league will move on with hali, sga, fox, wemby, chet, ant and other young studs of the league
Wonder what players career you think is going to be "almost over" next week 🤔
I saw a rumor dodo is a trade target for the Mavs and I wonder if Simmons gets traded to the Mavs like we have to take him on if we get dodo
Ben Simmons will have a heck of a Season next year, close to his All Start Level of play. Then 1 or 2 teams will sign him for a considerable amount of money(not max), and then we're going to witness the same cycle again.
no team will fall for that again
I don’t think he will play this season. When you have a herniated disk you typical take off from extended periods of time from squats or deadlifting for example.
Its something mental, this guy was an allstar
Had to check the upload date probably ten times while watching this video, and yep it was uploaded today. The saga continues, I guess... What a shame.
The guy's prep for a NBA game is playing video games. I mean being lazy is one thing but putting video game above your profession is destined for failure
It pisses me off as Nets fan to see him sitting on the bench every night
I wish for him to be better he’s still young and he can be soo much more if he has a drive to be great.
No it isn’t, hes got that contract 🎉
Nice change for ur schedule name
Damn if I wasn't such a Ben Simmons hater I woulda clicked out this video the second that ad hit DAYM
2 minutes to get the video started is crazy
Video killed the Rockstar. It's hard watching him practice so Lackadaisically after losing so much. Even the stuff he releases of himself just looks like he doesn't care, or even like the game.
It's easier to blame others than to be introspective.
I don’t blame any of this on Ben. He’s been entitled. Why does he need to change if you reward him for not changing?
🎯
Part of me wants Ben Simmons to magically return from this injury as a 3 point threat who averages over 10 assist, the other part of me wants him waived from the team so he can find his true calling in life.
Ok lemme get this strait last video about Ben “the redemption of Ben Simmons”. To now ben Simmons career is over? Pick one
I can't believe I literally wasted all of my last picks in fantasy leagues on drafting Ben Simmons with my last picks and he's not his summer self optimism
I bet he would play if he's traded to a team like Golden State, I think him and Draymond should change places
I think the nets are a lil better than u think they are lol they dealt with a lot of injuries but Simmons is done his body can’t handle the nba anymore
He's done. Damaged goods at this point and Jacque Vaughn knows it.
As a nets fan I hope we don't resign him.
Ben punked the NBA. Being payed as a superstar while being an unavailable role player 🤦🏾♂️
2:02 to skip thru ads and bs
Injury has definitely ruined his psyche was continuous injuries to continuous surgeries to continuous rehabilitation,That really mentally affects athletes
I feel bad for the guy, he's not there mentally. Hopefully he will prove us wrong before the end of this season.
If that was true there would be some kind a diagnosis on him. Mentally I think the guy is a prima donna and he refuses to work because he doesn’t like to be told what to do. That’s how he comes across to me with that face.😮
Shoutout to Sean Marks for trading all those picks for James Harden to transfer those assets into Ben 10.
wishing he would just play in australia where theres no pressure to be good
Yes he can be a great role player. It's fine if that's what he wants.
Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman, Draymond Green all have rings without being good scorers but does everything else that’s needed on the court….jsut surround him with scorers why is this so difficult his best years were when he had Embiid and Butler running around him…it’s so simple lol
@basketballboygenius u may have to take the genius out of your name cause Simmons never teamed with Harden 😂😂😂😂
@basketballboygenius Simmons best year was when he was just a playmaker with Embiid and Simmons his faults didn’t get exposed untill Butler left and he was made a 2nd scorer which he isn’t… he’s a playmaker with elite defense..and he’s gonna make a good 3rd or 4th option when coaches stop trying to make him a scorer which he never been…This is all Philly fault for over hyping and over paying him cause he knows his strong points but his contract is making him something he isn’t lol
The league moved away from his game just as injuries slowed him by a step or two. When he entered the league he was a hyper athletic enormous point guard. Now he’s just a spacing liability on offense who can’t quite mask it with his athleticism anymore. Shit happens, he still made 100m. Not too worried about him
You have to use him at the 5. If Looney can play the 5 then he can. He has to get better at rebounding and or shooting. Tell him to pick his poison...
Ben is a solid defensive role player who was held to too high of standards. It is what it is 🤷♂️
As for contract extension for Ben Simmons.... I wouldn't even offer him the league minimum.
Still injuries are the worst enemies of athletes 😢
Supersized this is the first vid from flight on Ben
I love how everyone laughs off Kobe when he says that like hes joking but hes dead serious and here we are years later and his career is over because of it.
How many peoples career you gonna claim is over Mike! 😂😂😂
Bro got his feelings hurt and been trash since
Just glad he’s on the nets
nah who asked for a Ben Simmons update tho !?
Sixers should have never traded him. People tried making him into something he wasnt with the shooting. He could have played the same way in 16 and 17 and been fine. Just as great
The only that were optimistic are the same one that don’t watch games. He wouldn’t contribute nothing to that team, injuries or not.
