  • When you mistake memory for intelligence, education system happens😂😂

    • @Appu Paul it means when you think a good memory and intelligence are both same things....which they are not

      @BruceWayne-dr9zh@BruceWayne-dr9zh4 жыл бұрын
    • @Appu Paul Intelligence is the ability to interpret information and form conclusions. Memory is recalling your conclusions or those made by others. You could think of it as a man writing one great book as being more impressive than another man who's read 100. Just being able to recall information doesn't necessarily imply understanding. For this reason he bashes the education system as he views it being something that values only recall. Though I disagree with him on this as we use regular tests to quantify the level of understanding, which is what you're ultimately judged on.

Part of this involves being aware of the difference between the past and the present moment. This involves identifying a nature of stillness within you as you observe the consistency of the present moment. Memory is only but one part of you.

    • An enlightened being is someone who knows God. To know God you have to go into the light. "The word enlightened comes from the Latin prefix en meaning "in, into" and the word lux meaning "light." Combine these meanings - "into the light" These people talk about being in a state of nirvana, which is not enlightenment. When you go into the light you know everything in existence is God, and all of reality is mental. That is real enlightenment, to know everything.

  • To me enlightenment deals with one's ability to come closer to the truth of our existence for what it is. We are all just living creatures whose existence really has no purpose, but we still convince ourselves to live in a certain way because others are living that way, to believe certain fictitious things, to not question things, to pursue things that are bad for us, etc. By doing so we neglect nature, we neglect empathy, we neglect understanding and acceptance and we vastly overrate our own intelligence in the process.

    @miraclesage8622@miraclesage8622 Жыл бұрын
    • You say our lives have no purpose , we follow others, believe fictitious things and neglect nature . I am sure you are right in a lot of what you say but don’t you think our purpose like all other forms of human life in nature is to reproduce to ensure the future existence of our genes or family or community or nation . Is this not our highest purpose at the end of the day and this is something we share intimately with all forms of life we see in nature ? This is the purpose I think that we share with the animals we see around us as well as the plants and insects and so on. Do you agree ?

      @eamonhannon1103@eamonhannon1103 Жыл бұрын
    • @@eamonhannon1103 I appreciate this comment, and this is is in fact a rebuttal I've seen before. This is a very good arugment but as an existentialist I feel this is a bit difficult to agree entirely with because reproduction is a choice that we choose not because we have to but because one of the ultimate joys in life for many people is to have our own children, as a result I see it more as a hedonistic pursuit than as a necessity. On top of this, some of us wish to have children and others don't. Some feel like child bearing is too challenging in today's world, some are not good at finding potential partners, some are not good with kids, some maybe do not care about the status being a parent brings them etc and other reasons can cause a person to experience little joy at the thought of raising kids. Whatever the reason may be to refuse parenthood I do not believe those in this boat are refusing their own nature. All the intelligence that is necessary for this living organism is already there. Our attempts to teach this body, or make it function differently from the way it is programmed by nature, are what are responsible for the battle that is going on. • @ talking about living in the past or in the future is talking about a metaphor, and it just makes things over complex. Everybody alive lives "in the now" with different awareness of themselves and of the environment. The point is awareness. If you avoid something by thinking about memories or ideas about the future, the point is to get aware of what you are avoiding, not to time travel "to the now". People neither know you can "live in the past" or "live in the future" unless someone tells them, and that someone just confuses things even further for them because it's a suggestion to overthink about a metaphor and not a reality

You can know more by knowing nothing in many cases. So many people are set in their ways and do not want to study life itself, because they already think that they know the way. There is no direction and there are never clear answers, which makes it the clearest answer of all. I don't know.

  • It's amazing when you feel like you found it. I would say it's truly listening to that voice we all have inside us. Without ego or all the noise that we all share. Our fears, our uncertainties and the feeling of needing to punish yourself because you feel like you don't deserve what you have. It tries to fight your true voice. Trust it. Just trust it. Listen to what your soul tells you you need and you'll never be on the wrong path and you will actually be present for all life has to give. It's wonderful. Gratefulness is everything brothers and sisters

Enlightenment is your true authentic self which feeds it's knowledge not from repeating books but from actual experience and instinct to see clearly. Solutions and ideas are created on the spot by the clear mind in an authentic way. Creativity surges from this type of beings whom don't hang from.past prejudices or other people opinions.

    • because they are not attaining the path of dharma , when a human being is born it's duties is to experience life (dharma) ,but you have a choice, as human life is all about choices , you can take either the good way or the bad way. if you take the way of being good (being a human) you experience good karma but if you take the way of being bad (inhumanity) you experience bad karma. no one can escape karma . no one could escape karma,sooner or later we reap what we sow

Now, there is a new mind and heart spiritual practice, Falun Dafa (The Great Way), compassion-truthfulness-tolerance, with 100 million practitioners worldwide. It explains many of the great mysteries of creation, in a very understandable way. Its master is Master Li Hongzhi, twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The only requirements are a kind heart and sincerity.

  • Dear Sadhguru: Thank you for your work. It happens like coincidence to find the video that I needed to listen to. The lectures do make me re-think and humble were humbling is needed. If you allow me to express my opinion regarding what (or who) is an enlightened being. For me the video intends to call to reasoning enlightened people. Specially the people who are still discovering the marvellous and hard things that enlightenment provides. I can see that there is a tendency to feel superior to others, due to the way we are taught. Which is wrong, mean and disrespectful; towards ourselves and others. If an enlightened being is a person that only sees what is there with clarity,m (like hearing the entire notes of all instruments in a music; instead of going tune deaf); then... What is a person that goes beyond and transcend the human laws and is able to: predict events, see places without being there; access knowledge that in present life; one never had such information? Thank you in advance. 🙏

  • His explanation is simple but it has got real deep meaning in it. Enlightened person can not be recognized from normal person just by his appearance. Enlightened person does the right thing always, he is pleasant, he is happy with the things around, he sees himself in EVERYBODY. Being normal, what we know about ourselves is just by the memory. But, an enlightened person truly knows what he is, what he was (in terms of soul concept). Sadguru teaches Jnanayoga, meditation techniques to get God realization/enlightenment. Even Budda taught the same. But the shortest way for enlightenment/god realization is not Jnanayoga, it's Bhaktiyoga (as per the Vedas) Devotion brings God's grace and gives enlightenment/God realization. If we don't surrender, if we don't become zero, if we don't get a drop of tears, then enlightenment/god realization is not at all possible. Jnanayoga or Bhaktiyoga, we have to put tears. Whatever the method is (bhakthiyoga, Jnanayoga), result is same (enlightenment/god realization).

  • Thank you Sadhguru. I have great appreciation for the way you explain ideas and concepts that people have in this world. I was once told to keep things simple. So I look at things for simplicity and keep my mind open to learning. I admittedly struggle from time to time because of the perceptions I have until I realize they are only perceptions and let them go. I also appreciate the idea between mystic versus mistake and the idea about people assuming. I have spoke about things in simple terms that are considered straight forward and have offended many people simply because I stated what I understood the way that I understood them. People would say that I called it as I saw it. I knew I wasn't alone in this world, but have felt alone often. I am very thankful that my search and my mind led me to the recordings of you and allowed me to listen to what you say. I know I have much to learn and yet, I have learned. I know I have lived and I know I have much living to do and need to shine a light for others and for those who are willing or seeking to understand how to let go. Thank you May peace be with you.

  • “Wanting has to go. Wanting to be free from something that is not there is what you call "sorrow.” Wanting to be free from sorrow is sorrow. There is no other sorrow. You don't want to be free from sorrow. You just think about sorrow, without acting. Your thinking endlessly about being free from sorrow is only more material for sorrow. Thinking does not put an end to sorrow. Sorrow is there for you as long as you think. There is actually no sorrow there to be free from. Thinking about and struggling against "sorrow" is sorrow. Since you can't stop thinking, and thinking is sorrow, you will always suffer. There is no way out, no escape.” ― U.G. Krishnamurti, Mind Is a Myth
