I'm not Catholic or Christian or Anglican or in any way religious. I just like the music. So you can take your screaming religious comments. negative or otherwise, and shove them up your asphalt.
Performed by the nuns choir from St. Catherine's convent. San Fransisco.
(they're all actresses)
Conductor: Sister Mary Clarence A.K.A Delores Van Cartier A.K.A Whoopi Goldberg.
This is the ending song from the 1992 film "Sister Act".
Lyrics:
-I will follow Him
Follow Him wherever He may go,
And near Him, I always will be
For nothing can keep me away,
He is my destiny.
I will follow Him,
Ever since He touched my heart I knew,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love.
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him,
And where He goes,
I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow.
he'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
from now until forever, forever, forever
I will follow Him,
Follow Him wherever He may go,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love...
We will follow Him,
Follow Him wherever He may go,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep us away, away from His love...
I love Him
(Oh yes I love Him)
I'll follow
(I'm gonna follow)
True love
(He'll always be my true, true love)
Forever
(Now until forever)
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him,
And where He goes,
I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow,
He'll always be my true love,
My true love, my true love,
From now until forever,
Forever, forever...
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love

  • 2024!!! Never gets old!!!! My late nanny introduced this film to me when I was younger. I'm 35 now and still feel exactly the same about this film!! The emotion that hits me is unreal!!! My 15 year old son is the same! I put this on and he's right there singing with me and trust me he loves rap and all the new artists but he knows this is gold! All four of my kids will run out in the kitchen when I put this on! Amazing!!

And have you ever heard of the Crusades? The Spanish Inqusition? The Witchhunts? The forced conversion on Native North and South Americans? Intifada and the centuries old idiotic religious wars in the Middle East. No, an anarchist can not suffer stupidity... in their presence. Its well overdue time for humanity to let go of their retarded caveman beliefs in the imaginary supernatural.

The movie was actually very respectful to Catholics and Catholic clergy--it takes a few liberties as a comedy, but it's very uplifting and hints at positive change and making a difference doing a world of good for everyone. I really like the original movie. It's very moving on a human level and filled with hope and optimism.

  • This movie is more clever than people give it credit for. Someone has studied church culture and knows all the tropes. The severe but caring leader. The quiet church mouse. The uncomfortably genuine one. The way they interact with their with habits aswell says a lot about their characters- and says that someone has taken the time to study all this.

I never walked away from God, even when those who claimed to follow him wounded me on such an intimate level. It’s you and God, foremost. It’s not about what Christians, or anyone else for that matter, have done to you. Nothing else matters. What a joy to know there creator of the universe.

Because we love Him, and can’t stop loving Him, and wouldn’t stop if we could. We wanted flesh security, prestige, acceptance- but along came Jehovah who’s not that type at all. You see him in the street and never notice Him. Hook up with Him and all hell breaks loose. We love Him because He’s - we don’t know - because He’s just our Jo.

If you just enjoy the music (instead of feeling it), you are losing half the fun. This song thouches my soul in a very, very spiritual place. This is how voices can heal and give faith. And yes, I am spiritual and I love God, religion is not important at all for me. This song is a masterpiece. I miss Whoopi Goldberd and this kind of movies.

It can be about a relationship with god or a love interest, whatever floats your boat, but don't tell people that interpreting it as it was meant is somehow wrong.

  • 2:01 Mother Superior looks like a mother smiling so proud of her daughters. Dame Maggie Smith gives off a look like she couldn’t love her two girls (Mary Patrick and Mary Robert) more!

    • Dame Maggie Smith is an amazing actress! She seems to seamlessly get into character for whatever role she plays. From playing a Nun in Sister Act to playing the Dowager on Maggie Smith you belive these are real people and not an actress playing them. The woman deserves an Oscar!
