I'm not Catholic or Christian or Anglican or in any way religious. I just like the music. So you can take your screaming religious comments. negative or otherwise, and shove them up your asphalt.
Performed by the nuns choir from St. Catherine's convent. San Fransisco.
(they're all actresses)
Conductor: Sister Mary Clarence A.K.A Delores Van Cartier A.K.A Whoopi Goldberg.
This is the ending song from the 1992 film "Sister Act".
Lyrics:
-I will follow Him
Follow Him wherever He may go,
And near Him, I always will be
For nothing can keep me away,
He is my destiny.
I will follow Him,
Ever since He touched my heart I knew,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love.
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him,
And where He goes,
I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow.
he'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
from now until forever, forever, forever
I will follow Him,
Follow Him wherever He may go,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love...
We will follow Him,
Follow Him wherever He may go,
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep us away, away from His love...
I love Him
(Oh yes I love Him)
I'll follow
(I'm gonna follow)
True love
(He'll always be my true, true love)
Forever
(Now until forever)
I love Him, I love Him, I love Him,
And where He goes,
I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow,
He'll always be my true love,
My true love, my true love,
From now until forever,
Forever, forever...
There isn't an ocean too deep,
A mountain so high it can keep,
Keep me away, away from His love

Why don’t they make wholesome movies like this anymore?😭
Movie wasn't that wholesome lol the music numbers were though.
because people nowadays is just interested in violence, sex and people who abuse others in order to affirm theirselves. What a sad society we live in.

2024!!! Never gets old!!!! My late nanny introduced this film to me when I was younger. I'm 35 now and still feel exactly the same about this film!! The emotion that hits me is unreal!!! My 15 year old son is the same! I put this on and he's right there singing with me and trust me he loves rap and all the new artists but he knows this is gold! All four of my kids will run out in the kitchen when I put this on! Amazing!!
I'm 66 now and have loved this movie for 30 years. I always sing along and my heart melts ❤✨
2025! Still never gets old!
"The emotion that hits me is unreal!!!" Yes, I feel the same way! The movie was released in Germany in 1992, 32 years ago, and since then I've seen it countless times and sung along.

Could you pls let me know which film is. I just love this song so much...
I'm not a religious guy, but I love everything from this song. The concepts of faith, selfless love and the pursuit of a higher purpose always get to me.
That's because this is actually a love song about a girl obsessing over a man lol!

Whatever you are: Catholic, protestant, orthodox, muslim, jewish, buddhist, agnostic or atheist, this song moves you.
ladylenett Because believing in this stupid shit infringes on my freedom and gets a lot of people killed. I suffered through this rubbish for 5 years in Catholic school. And have you ever heard of the Crusades? The Spanish Inqusition? The Witchhunts? The forced conversion on Native North and South Americans? Intifada and the centuries old idiotic religious wars in the Middle East. No, an anarchist can not suffer stupidity... in their presence. Its well overdue time for humanity to let go of their retarded caveman beliefs in the imaginary supernatural.
CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, witchunts and all the things you speak about was been done by men, not by God... God is only Love. Who kills in name of god doesn't know at all what God really is.

For me, the best part of this song is when the redhead finally sheds her shyness and just cuts loose.
For me, when the black started singing (i dont remember her name
Bloody Night you really calling Whoopi Goldberg 'the black' ....... disrespectful
Jessica Castle i didnt remember her name --'
+MrReed314 The way she sings kind of reminds me of a young Michael Jackson.
+Bloody Night You made the mistake of not including the word woman in your comment. "The black woman" is not as disrespectful as simply calling her the "The black". Also how do you not know who Whoopi Goldberg is? She was like everywhere in the 90s.
Does this give anyone else goosebumps?

This is my favorite comedy ever. It’s rare to find such a gem that doesn’t cross the line into being disrespectful yet is still one of the funniest movies I’ve seen.
I agree Pam. The movie was actually very respectful to Catholics and Catholic clergy--it takes a few liberties as a comedy, but it's very uplifting and hints at positive change and making a difference doing a world of good for everyone. I really like the original movie. It's very moving on a human level and filled with hope and optimism.
Evan Almighty is another good one.

Not to be that guy but she has no actual technique. Shes just pantomiming along with the music. She still did a great job but her conducting skills are pretty much nonexistent

One of the few pieces of music that actually gives me chills 💕
Thirty years ago, this was my favorite comedy, and I watched it with laughter and emotion. Thirty years later, it's still my favorite comedy, but I'm silently crying. . . .
Same here. When this film came out on VHS in late 92, I was 4 years old, and it became one of my all-time favorite.
This movie is more clever than people give it credit for. Someone has studied church culture and knows all the tropes. The severe but caring leader. The quiet church mouse. The uncomfortably genuine one. The way they interact with their with habits aswell says a lot about their characters- and says that someone has taken the time to study all this.
It was a giant hit, in fact one of the highest grossing of the early nineties. Deservedly so. I think the second one was a great follow up and smart for changing it up big time while still with the same main characters.
Astute observation
I've lost count of how many times I've seen this movie.... 😄😄😄
Well, the writers did actually visit a convent... a convent in fact, where an actress who had been acting in the movies during the 60s (and got to kiss Elvis Presley) had gone to and became a nun. She's a member of the voting Academy for the Oscars, so she gets the mailers and she and her sisters watch the nominated movies every year.

I left the church in my mid 20s after suffering abuse at the hands of religion. But I realized suffering is a part of the journey. Jesus suffered at the hands of religious people. I never walked away from God, even when those who claimed to follow him wounded me on such an intimate level. It’s you and God, foremost. It’s not about what Christians, or anyone else for that matter, have done to you. Nothing else matters. What a joy to know there creator of the universe.

Powerful, powerful, powerful! Tears of joy, knowing God got this glory out there, let it flow everywhere, let it tell the world that THIS IS WHY LIFE - OUR HUMAN LIVES - can endure ALL!! Because we love Him, and can’t stop loving Him, and wouldn’t stop if we could. We wanted flesh security, prestige, acceptance- but along came Jehovah who’s not that type at all. You see him in the street and never notice Him. Hook up with Him and all hell breaks loose. We love Him because He’s - we don’t know - because He’s just our Jo.

You don't have to be religious to like this song, but you AT LEAST have to be a spiritual person to feel all of this song's power. If you just enjoy the music (instead of feeling it), you are losing half the fun. This song thouches my soul in a very, very spiritual place. This is how voices can heal and give faith. And yes, I am spiritual and I love God, religion is not important at all for me. This song is a masterpiece. I miss Whoopi Goldberd and this kind of movies.
Don't tell people how to enjoy music. You enjoy it the way you want to, but the song existed decades before a movie did a cover. It was about a love interest originally, not god. It can be about a relationship with god or a love interest, whatever floats your boat, but don't tell people that interpreting it as it was meant is somehow wrong.
Whoever did this arrangement must have gotten a raise! Man, those strings, those KEY CHANGES! The harmonies, everything was perfect!
