Some of the actors were attached to the roles at one point. Sandra, Nicholas and Leonardo. Wizard Magazine had Willem for Joker, Alec as Batman & while John wasn't cast as Lex Luthor; he was chosen as Ra's al Ghul. Stellar casting all around.

As much as I love Brendan Fraser in movies, the perfect Shazam for late 90's/early 2000's would've been Brandon Molale. Dude looks like he fell right out of an Alex Ross painting of Captain Marvel, and he was petitioning to play the part long before The Rock ever did. Frasier would've made a great Hawkman, though. He probably would've made a good Flash, too - with short, lightened hair he looked way more like Barry Allen then Ezra Miller ever did.
Holy cow! Malkovich as Luthor is one of those "why didn't anyone else think of him?" moments alongside casting Alfred Molina as Doc Ock.

I would reverse the Cary Grant and Gregory Peck thing, myself. Especially considering that Gregory Peck was a character study when Alex Ross was coming up with the look of his Batman/Bruce Wayne in Kingdom Come. And Cary Grant was Christopher Reeves' inspiration for his portrayal of Clark Kent.

Christopher Lee and Malkovich are the most spot on. They would have kicked everything up several notches. Especially crossover. Luthor appearing at Wayne's door and either denied entry by Alfred, or trading highbrow barbs in the foyer while waiting for Wayne to appear.

Really solid choices with Sean Connery, Christopher Lee, John Malkovich, Lawrence Fishburn, and Russell Crowe. My personal change would have been to swap out Jennifer Anniston with Reese Witherspoon as Harley. Going against her character type would have been a really bold choice for Reese.

Alec Baldwin played the Shadow, one of the main inspirations for Batman, in the 1990s, so it isn't that much of a stretch. Also, I am definitely down with Christopher Lee as Alfred and Willem Dafoe as the Joker.
Brendan Fraser would have made an excellent Superman, a sentiment I have held since watching him in The Mummy. Regarding Alec Baldwin as Batman, he would undoubtedly embody an ideal Bruce Wayne. It's surprising that this has not been widely recognized before.
