I thought it was all a contractual thing that, a lot of RE voices didn’t get a renewal of contract in the remake or most recent games, and movies, like Chris is no longer voiced by Roger in RE7 and 8, and it’s even weirder Ada from RE2 remake don’t get to reprise her role
DC got in huge trouble when leaked DMs showed him flirting with underage girls. He was also a huge supporter of the cancelling of Vic Mignogna. So f him. Glad he's been replaced. He was a great wesker but he is an awful person

Gosh Ada is so beautiful. But I miss in the end when Ashley asks who was that and Leon says “a part of me I can’t get rid of.” They made Leon a lot harder and distrusting in this version and Ada showed a giving (she didn’t even offer him a ride in the original) and vigilante (she turned the plane around) side meaning they are both changing each other in ways.

I actually think she was being serious.
For the first time.. Ada Wong felt like a totally different person, its the VA. She sounds too generic, flat or like horribly fandubbed, no mysterious charms like all past Ada VA's.
Honestly she just sound extremely bored with the material she was given. It sounds like she was pulled off the street given a few bucks and food to read the words off the script

How can you say the ship is dead, when ada shows more feelings towards leon. And leon is still upset about what happened after 6 YEARS. Like you can literally feel the tension AND ANGST when they are together. We all know Leon still has feelings for ada.
Yeah, the ship is still sailing. We can tell just with the look on their face. They just simp for Ashley because honestly she's very cute, stable and caring in this remake.
Not gonna lie, the whole take of "Leon doesn't like Ada anymore!!" after the release of RE4 Remake is so weird. RE4 Remake is well.. a Remake. It doesn't change the timeline or what happens next whatsoever (unless capcom decided to rewrite every RE game & movies that comes out after RE4) Their next on-screen encounter after RE4 is in Damnation Movie where it is confirmed by Shotaro (the story writer) that they spent romantic night somewhere during RE5. Let's not start with RE6 lol, if anything it truly seals the deal with how the game ended

New design is hot, but that voice actor.... absolutely sucks any charm or allure out of the character. Instead of the teasing and sultry familiarity of their relationship, this VA makes Ada come off as almost annoyed with dealing with Leon.

@@shafaykhan9339 I think the voice with a hint of accent does suit her, but the recording kind of feels like it took place in a different setup compared to the rest of the characters. She does need more professional training tho, sending emotions with voice is different from theatre play. It has to be a bit more dramatic.
This new VA is great. Great for motivating someone out there to use AI to to make some voice line mods for RE4.

Well he still got a sample anyway, so she indirectly helped him by getting it off the island at all.
Wrong, Ada Wong never intended to give Albert Wesker the Master Plaga, "Separate Ways" from original RE4 make it very clear. Ada was _pretending_ to work for Wesker since the beginning, and always was going to give the Master Plaga to the Organization she was working for. Capcom either failed to do its own homework (not the first time) or deliberately decided to make Ada more heroic while making Wesker dumb. Either way, I hated this change.

Friendly reminder, that film and/or theater acting doesn't always translate to voice acting. They are two different things with each of their own have different challenges.

I'm glad that they recreated the Leon vs. Ada scene, even if they didn't make it as goofy compared to the original with Ada's iconic cartwheel.
That scene wasn't goofy. I would have been happy if they added it and made Leon and Ada's interactions as fun as Leon and Ashley's. I would say the remake was really good though.

When I first played the game and heard Ada's voice, it felt really weird to me. However paying attention now and being used to it, it fits this Ada's version pretty well. They've done such a great job imo and I am truly in love with Ada. Better than ever!

@PipeRhymes I understand you. However I think it makes total sense, because we can't keep comparing RE4 from 2006 to this Remake. Different years - maybe generations. We should give a chance to some change, like this one. I love Ada in RE4 (2006), but I love her even more in this Remake, because I believe they followed the same rules when they did that Remake for RE2 and now just enhanced her a little bit more, as I said mysterious and fearless. Although she's got nothing to do with that version we love so much, yet her delivery has been perfect, giving us an idea of a total diferent perspective of how her DLC shall be.

Jolene Andersen was much worse than Courtney Taylor, and Courtney Taylor wasn't as good as Sally Cahill, the original and best version of Ada by far.

Throwing my hat in the ring here.. I think that once again Sony had input on why we couldn't get classic OG Ada's gettup. Its a pattern with every game they are deeply involved in.

@justareplica yeah, you know it's not just dialogs. Cutscenes are less polished in a cinematic way. There are fewer high and down moments in cutscenes (the camera movement and camera position) and dialog, it's feel flat I don't say it's bad, but isn't that cinematic, and It's not iconic anymore,

One thing to say, RE studios nowadays doesn't do "Union Voice actors" anymore.. Look at Chris! David Vaughn has potential in Re-7. Yet in Re 8, they change & cast Jeff Shine who was Carlos in Re 3 Remake.!? Capcom Re studios were lazy to bring back majority of Re-7 voice casts except for Ethan's, Mia's & Eveline. Most of the voice casts of Re-8 were from Re Remake 3.. For God sake, they probably just asked the Recent voice casts from latest project to involve in Re-8.. Dang, how I missed Union VA's.. its their charm & charisma that shape most of Re- Protagonist character direction. Paul Mercier, Roger Craig, Allyson Court, Sally Cahil, Patricia Ja Lee & Mathew Mercer..

David Vaughn voice tone direction was still kinda like Roger Craig & Kevin Dorman. If you want older, he can definitely deepen his vocal tone. But, these r just my POV.

17 minutes is pretty long for her cutscene. For comparasion, Claire Redfield screen time in re2 remake is around 10 minutes mark 🤔.

Being a hardcore Resident Evil series fan especially RE4, I would like to say something about Ada in the Remake. I heard many bad comments about her that she's the worst in the Remake and all but guys trust me. She has got justice but of course her VA is not that good. She isn't able to express emotions in her voice acting. But as for her facial expressions, it can be easily interpreted that she is thristy for Leon. But Leon doesn't seem interested but deep down he IS interested. And at last, he didn't wanna say her goodbye but there was no other way. Ada is 100% more emotional and sentimental towards Leon but they both have less emotional intelligence and are unable to express freely. She really is more emotional and interested towards Leon, it can be easily seen keeping her voice aside.
Yeah but you can't just ignore the really really really really bad voice acting. Every steam season is ruined every time she opens her mouth because her voice actress just sounds bored

There's like no chemistry with them anymore. In the last game there were more scenes with Leon & Ada that painted a picture that they had a more intimate relationship prior to after Re2. Leon in this game mentioning not seeing Ada in 6yrs this doesn't really make sense cause he wasn't surprised at all that she was still alive.
