  • Neat car fake story, Everything is true - except the idea that this car ruled the streets, its a high 13 second car on its best day and a low 14 second car on an average day. Hardly legendary at a time when there were legit 10 and 11 second street racers in the area. This is a completely stock Challenger: owned by a non mechanic, the original owner's friend telling the story of its conquests says that he had to tell him when to shift, etc. The original owner never said not to sell - he himself was asking $80,000 in the 1980's

    • Not so fast mr. know it all!! Soon you and all the others who say it's a fake story will see documented proof of it being a stock 426 hemi or not. Furthermore unless you were a personal friend of GQ how the hell can you call him a non mechanic? You don't know if he turned wrenches or not! Lastly, I have recorded videos of some guys that raced the Black Ghost that will also be released in the near future.

    • @@Untouchables3 Lol! Go ahead and strap it onto a chassis dyno, it won't be pretty. GQ's own family and friends will tell you that he was no mechanic - that's why it got benched and sat for an extended period of time. I started drag racing in the 1970's - street racers tell lots of stories like a fisherman describing the unbelievably large fish that got away. I had a stock 1969 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. At OCIR it ran a consistent tire spinning 14.3 second 1/4 mile at just a few ticks under 102 mph. I beat all sorts of so called 12 second cars on the street. I later owned a legit 496 Chevelle that ran 10.8x seconds at just over 125 mph in full street trim (street slicks). The only non-stock part on the Black Ghost is the ignition coil - and that probably puts out less spark than the stock coil. Just listen to the Black Ghost with its stock exhaust and there is no wild lope or super high idle speed. The famed Silver Bullet ran four large mufflers to help disguise its true power. If you choose to believe that the Black Ghost is in the same league as the Silver Bullet that's on you.

      @Thomas63r2@Thomas63r27 ай бұрын
    • @@Thomas63r2 When did I or Greg ever talk about the silver bullet? We didn’t! Nobody said it was faster then the silver bullet or it could hang w that car. It really doesn’t matter what you did or what you had in your day because nobody is talking about you or your cars. It got benched because he had more kids, was working as a cop and re enlisted in the service. What video are you watching? You’re right street racers do tell a lot of car/racing stories. Just like a few guys that I have recorded on video that raced the black ghost back in the day. Just because your guys didn’t talk about it doesn’t mean it’s a fake story. A mechanic is defined in different ways. A guy can change a spark plug or change a tire and be considered a mechanic. Just because he took it some where to add some things or remove some things doesn’t make him a guy who knows absolutely nothing. The funny part is you & a-lot of others think the whole story has been told and it hasn’t so sit back and keep watching. Greg heard from other guys in his dad’s age range & their young son’s who witnessed racing The Black Ghost. I guess those guys that we don’t know from a hole in the ground are fake story tellers? Lol. The people who said he never lost was no one in Greg’s camp. And for the 100th time it doesn’t matter if it was a 19 second car. He raced from light to light. He won some and he lost some. Is some of the story fabricated from the truth? Yes it is! When someone retells a story it’s hardly ever said the same way as the original story. Greg never said he never lost. “Was” it all stock back in the 70’s??? You’ll find out soon enough!

They're even making a movie over this sweet story. Fake as can be. The car don't even have a set of headers. And the gentleman who owned the car he weren't no mechanic. • Welded the distributor in place???? Why, all us car guys advance timing over stock settings and just tighten the distributor down at the setting, I've been working on ,driving and studying performance and muscle car facts for close to 40 years now, and theres no reason to weld a distributor ,im not well versed on what materials hemi distributor are made of, but most are aluminum and engine blocks are cast iron, so welding would be out of the question , and again why would you anyway, the only reason i could figure welding it would be if the hold down bolt was broke off in the motor and still that would be a ridiculous fix, it is a rare well optioned and fairly fast for stock production car of that time, but if you look up the numbers they dont support the story, especially with stock exhaust manifolds, and the car being totally intact as far as weight reduction, those cars are no light weights, i guess if it was rarely taken out and never met up with alot of customized purpose built cars that were around that area at that time, then i can understand it winning some races, and no coils, advanced timing, are gonna make any big substantial differences in performance, compression, cam, heads, carburetion, exhaust flow those are the thing that it takes to gain substantial changes in performing, and there were plenty of cars at that time in that area that had those mods, and in seriously lighter cars with there weight reduced by stripping away everything none essential, sorry fellas but you cant dispute horsepower and weight equations and for that car it just dont add up, but its a nice survivor car with some cool options regardless

I would go down to Detroit on weekends and look for some action or watch other guys run from light to light.....I dunno, I may have seen the Black Ghost on The Avenue. • Talk about having egg on your face, Dodge et all. I did a video breaking down, how this car not only is a hoax car, but its not even capable of running a basic street race. Honest question, and Im curious if you will answer. Were you paid by the auction, sponsored etc? If you were, then, I can actually accept that. Its your job to prop up this car, even if its not what it claims. Im sure by now, you have seen enough, read even comments here calling the car out. But, small channel, I get it. But, this has to be the most obvious hoax cars I have ever seen. At least some cars out there, are modded somewhere where it MAYBE could be sorta possible. But this this has a tow hitch lol. Its heavy. Not to mention the family photos even show this car to have white walls and wire wheel covers. Hagerty also made it very clear that they have a political idelogical agenda. They run the "national historic vehicle registry" and its as biases as you get. No General Lee or Knight Rider or other famous cars that still exist today, some unrestored, but this thing is? We know why, and its an insult to a veteran. It could have been just a cool car, passed down to a son, but wheres the money in that? Wheres the MGM movie deal, and auctions and all. The car even has the fake stickers on it, the Panafrican flag, which at the time, for a cop or vet had a seditious connotation. The kid even bragged about prepping other cars to look this way or that way. It would be better, my take, my advice, to say if it was part of some deal. This car was elevated to a non existent status. Look into what Hagerty is trying to do nowadays. Sad story there too. Owner builds a company, and the kids get in bed with Blackrock and State Street, going full ESG, despite who their customers are. Though, they will discriminate against people like me, recorded and all. Like I said, my two cents, because more and more people are learning that this car is a lie. Its not a drag racing car. A Datsun would have smoked it. It even has the vinyl top. Do you know howheavy they are?
