  • The thing about dunkey is that so many of his videos have practically infinite rewatch value. He's one of the only youtubers who will upload a video that I want to watch 3 times in the same day. So for every 5 minute dunkey video he nets like 30 minutes to a few hours of watch time from me.

    • It isnt 0 effort, it's a huge amount of effort to create and edit for a daily deadline. Thats why you need at least a small team/company. It's just when you do that you spend all your effort just churning it out, not making it good. No research, no considered arguments, no fancy editing, no short punchy vids because YT dont like that. But you try to convince the shareholders to optimise the algorithm for quality, not advertising money.

    • I think it's because youtube kind of forces it to be the default, probably because they found it works. I keep getting youtube suggest among us videos. I've never seen one, I know nothing about that game, and nor subscribed to any channels of anyone who plays it. I don't even think I'm subscribed to any gaming channels other than this one. Perhaps it also appeals to all the bots, like those autogenerated nursery rhyme videos. I used to work in heavy industry, and on a fresh youtube page on my work PC for a video relating to a piece of industrial equipment, EVERY suggestion was a nursery rhyme. I wonder how much money those scammers make through that scheme. At least they're only ripping off advertisers, so I couldn't care less.

There's so much noise on the internet, and the people like you who actually think about the stuff they make, edit it and put all their creativity into their work add an immense value to the world. You can make a lot of money and not add value to the world, but then what is it all for? When creators prioritize views over the quality they're providing their viewers, they're lessening the quality of the world we live in, even just by a little by taking up space that could be occupied by more thoughtful, creative, funny and meaningful content. So thank you for what you do. Setting an example for others and providing space for other creators to share their work

It feels like the reward for finishing a truly great video now on KZhead is just a fleeting sense of personal fulfillment before your hard work is quickly drowned out by 1000 among us highlights. I can’t even express how much I appreciate creators like you that have chosen to try and release high quality content in spite of the current state of the platform.

    • The amount of people on the internet who cant recognize satire absolutely baffles me. I understand when it's just text with no inflection but listen to the tone of his voice after he gets into the "weekly schedule". "You guys know I love internet drama because I find it so intellectually stimulating." "I'm gonna do something that's never been done on youtube: play minecraft." This is obviously a joke once he gets past the actual serious stuff at the beginning.
