Emirates Reveals BIG Plans For Airbus A380 Just SHOCKED the entire industry! Here's Why
Do you remember the Middle East's largest air show in Dubai in 2023? Everyone said Airbus was in the dust when Boeing brought in more than three times as many orders as the A380 manufacturer. On the first day of the event, Boeing received an order for 90 Boeing 777 thanks to Emirates' generosity. It seemed like the airline was placing the future of its fleet on Boeing's long-haul wide-body aircraft, Emirates suddenly announced that it would bring its Airbus A380 fleet back to the route.

What’s going on? Why did they switch to the Airbus A380? What is Emirates’s big plan? Let's find out in today's episode!
On the show's opening day, as the world's largest wide-body passenger aircraft operator, Emirates committed to adding additional aircraft lines to support its growth plans, while maintaining its modern efficient fleet. At the same time, they actively improve performance and provide their customers with the best flight experiences. That's why Emirates has aggressively paid 52 billion dollar for Boeing aircraft, including 55 777-9 variants and 35 777-8 variants. As a result, combining previous orders, Emirates will introduce new 777-9s into its fleet from 2025 until 10 years later, in 2035. And Emirates will also become one of the launch customers of the 777-8 passenger variant, with first deliveries expected in 2030.

What about other Boeing aircraft? After many order changes and delivery delays, Emirates has signed to buy 35 787 Dreamliner aircraft, specifically including 20 787-8 variants and 15 787-10 variants. Compared to the stable plan with the 777, Emirates seems to not know what to do with this wide-body aircraft, which is why orders have always had changes before. In short, looking at the orders for these wide-body Boeing aircraft shows Dubai's optimistic outlook on air travel demand on long-haul flights as well as the great importance of the Middle East market.

That is also shown more clearly through the significant investments signed at Dubai Airshow 2023, Emirates is determined to direct its A380 fleet to "fly better". This was quite sensational because, in reality, we all know the A380 has been discontinued. Nothing can deny the superiority of the commercial aircraft with the largest passenger capacity in the world, but the cost of operating and maintaining it is also really something worth considering, especially when the A380 was showing signs of aging.
Despite this, agreements worth more than 1.5 billion dollar have been signed with an expanded network of suppliers and partners to deliver superior aviation aftermarket and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul services (MRO). Emirates wants to ensure that the A380 fleet, which currently has around 90 aircraft operating at full capacity, remains a reliable choice. They even plan to put more A380 aircraft into operation, proving that MRO service is a necessary step for this Middle Eastern airline.
