😂 as a European I’ve always found it weird when apps are held back like that.. the news app, the apple fitness+ app and now this? Are apple really so keen on native language support? Because most people in Denmark can understand English just fine 😅

Probably Apple doesn’t want to add apps until they are completely translated to language specific to that country. Willing forward to see this app in 🇸🇰

I like that you see the scores of the game on your Lock Screen too but for some reasons some games doesn’t show on the Lock Screen any ideas why

Seems like a decent start to the app, but needs way more sports/teams. Also, what took them so long?
I asked Siri for my team's upcoming games and it showed the info from the sports app, so there's a good connection between the two.
iPadOS yet again gets left behind with no dedicated app, still waiting on that Calculator! Hope there is an interactive widget with this app coming soon as well.

Yeah, in your settings app scroll down to “sports” then there’s a “hide betting options” option you can toggle on.

This is the future of the ios / android battle - robust native apps.
NLL Lacrosse would be super relevant to add ASAP, and I'd like to see the CFL added too. I'd also like to see them try to get global distribution rights to CFL games, but that's wishful thinking on my part. Would be a relatively cheap property though, and help pad their sports offerings.

This app feels like someone at Apple accidentally hit "publish" ... very thin on features and it won't replace theScore app I use on a regular basis.

There are no notifications/Dynamic Island with this app.
Doesn’t suprise me one bit that the app isn’t available in all Europe. When it comes to Sports the US brands don’t really expand into the Eu! Just looks at Sports betting not a single App/Company is available In Europe!
Going by Tim Cook’s tweet it seems they wanted to make sure this was out for the MLS kickoff tonight 😊

Curious why Apple would create an app for this when there's already enough options out there. Seems like a crowded market.
Lack of intrusive ads is first reason. Apple fans will use the Apple sports app when they get NFL scores. Apple also has live sports and wants to be the conduit. If they ad sports news feed they will be much more attractive than other apps

Well, I’m in the UK and I watch a lot more NFL than I do English Premier League games.
Because Apple TV+ is only going to move more and more into sports, and they’d be crazy not to release other apps supporting and promoting that. They’re bound to add links to live game coverage sooner or later, for example.

Live score should be shown in dynamic island (EPL in UK). Other than that, it’s far too basic in comparison to Sky Sports Scores.
Surprised they released it missing so many features. No European or international tournaments, no football(soccer) domestic cups etc. No logical navigation to league tables. Restrictive fixture list. No other useful information like head to head information, team info, broadcast information, very little reason to use this at the moment. Hopefully it improves quickly and becomes viable, for now I sticking flashscore
Seems to be USA centric, because the app doesn’t exist (at least yet) in Europe.

Such an odd app. Not a fan of the interface. I’ll keep an open mind.
It's very disappointing for an Apple app. They even didn't include live activity and the name of player who score goals for NHL games for exemple isn't at the top like any other serious sports app.

hate that this is another app that is targetted specifically for a couple of markets. People outside US, CA, UK are not watching sports at all? i can understand NEWS app not being globally available, but this? come on apple.

There are no NFL games to follow at the moment, it’s my guess as to why it isn’t showing up.

Here's the deal I really need your help with this guys cause I'm really struggling. I'm having a really difficult time with Apple right now I have all their products I have the Apple Watch Ultra which I really like probably my favorite Apple product and then I have my iPhone 15 Pro Max Win terabyte I have a MacBook Pro I have a 2018 iPad Pro Still works great but here's my issue. There's no multitasking on my phone which is killing me and my iPhone 15 Pro Max feels exactly like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which felt like my iPhone 11 felt like my iPhone X and so many ways. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but it's really hard to buy the same phone over and over again and Siri is complete garbage and I really want company is going to lean into AI and also lean into strong features like multitasking and things that Samsung is doing and I think someone said it when they said Apple wants to sell you multiple products so if they make one product better than the other product, you might just buy one product. I feel that way about the iPhone if it were as good as the Samsung phones with multitasking in AI maybe wouldn't buy that tablets me know your thoughts I'm just getting bored with Apple and I feel like they never really innovate that much and I'm use all their default apps because I try to support the stock situation but I really find myself bored. Let me know if you can help me through this, I wonder if I should get a Samsung S24 ultra or S25 ultra down the line to feel something different. Have you guys ever felt this way here's another thing voice texting on iPhone is painful. I remember having android phones and really appreciating how accurate the voice texting was that actually actually bumps me out about Apple to. Also, how can you sell? A premium smartphone has to have such a terrible assistant. Siri literally feels like they just forgot and literally don't care anymore. Thoughts 💭 make it make sense I didn't wanna leave Apple, but I feel like apples leaving me and it's really hard to make sense of it all right now.
