After Frederic goal, “next penalty is going against Toronto, 100%.” Next penalty is against McAvoy almost exactly 1 minute later. Leafs fail to score.

To the “Refs won the game for the Bruins” contingent: Toronto had 5 PPs - many of which were derived from favourable calls - and they proceeded to score on 0 of them. At a certain point, the guys making $11+ M need to steal a game.

Who cares if they went 0-5 on PP it was the missed calls that made the difference, Matthews getting held and dragged down behind the Boston net by McAvoy and few seconds later Marchand taking Bertuzzi out, both refs don't make the call....both text book holding, tripping/interference in Marchand's case....and Boston scores, which never would've happen if the refs called either penalty.....so please the officiating beat Toronto not Boston

It’s true. There are some calls missed every game. Blaming the refs is always pointless. Besides if the Leafs got 2 more power plays they’d have just gone 0/7.

Leafs had 5 chances on the PP tonight. Get one! Or two or 4, if you get 5 chances in the playoffs and can't capitalize that deserves a loss
I agree the refs sucked for both sides, there were multiple missed high sticks from the leafs. There are better examples of missed penalties that the bruins did anyway 😂
I have watched the leafs give up WAY TOO MANY GOALS less than 1min after scoring themselves. That's losing focus.. that's coaching!!!
Very good game 3 by Boston. Hard to believe they won when they had to kill of four penalities in a row. Marchand puts on a show. He played a great game tonight. Leafs now must win game 4.

Steve thought that Marner had a good game. Besides that nice assist, he was continually getting bodied off the puck (again) and gave it away several times in the offensive in the 3d period. And did Matthews even play today, totally invisible with only 3 shots on goal.

I don't wanna hear it about a "diving team" when Matthews flopped to the ice after a gentle breeze hit him in game 1 and drew the penalty. Or bad calls when we look at Domi punching a guy in the back of the head twice and then they both go off for "roughing".
Do you remember Oilers at Ducks 2017? OT, goalmouth scramble, Kesler and Perry take Talbot out, the Ducks shoot it into the gaping net. Ducks all come off the bench they're throwing their sticks, gloves, helmets all over, mobbing the goalie, crowd going wild, Oilers sitting on the bench waiting. Ref calls it game over.

I just can't bring myself to cheer for the Leafs, no matter how badly I would like to see the Stanley Cup come back home to Canada. But being an Oilers fan, from 1979 until this moment, I can't help but feel for you Steve. We went through our 'decade of darkness' in Edmonton, and knowing how bad that was, I don't have the heart to be sarcastic or take any cheap shots at you. You had such a long dark age and Buffalo too they had to change the draft lottery rules to make sure others had a shot at the first pick. Oilers were spoon fed with generational talents and they still cant make it to the finals.
At least you got to see the Oilers win 5 cups with Gretzky and Messier. Hardly comparable to the hardship Leafs fans have had to endure. You have to be in your 60's to even have a memory of the Leafs winning a cup.

I can't believe I am going to defend Maple Leafs fans but I am. Listening to Joe Bowen on the broadcast complaining about how quiet Leafs fans are is not fair to them. Earlier in the broadcast they read the stat that The Leafs are 9-17 at home during the playoffs during this era. Now 9-18. Last season they were 1-5 at home. No wonder the fans are quiet. They are scared to death!
No its the fact that lower bowl tickets are 2-3k. Upper bowl bleeders are 300. Real fans are outside of course it's quiet. Watch a leaf game, everyone is on thier phone in the lower section
There were so many missed calls. Leafs got away with 5 boarding no-calls, and a handful of trips before Marchand and Bertuzzi. It was a game of no-calls. Bruins capitalized, Leafs didn’t.

Mitch showed a good attitude before the game, made a great pass for a Leaf goal, and then he wasn’t strong enough on the puck during the Leaf Power plays. Marchand was the super star in this game. 😀

Let's be honest...1/2 the penalties called now a days when someone supposedly crosschecks someone is simply the other guy diving...I wish the refs would just put the whistles away unless it's utterly egregious.

Tavares getting the penalty late in the game is what really gave Boston the win
