This video is NOT staged and this is NOT a joke!!
I arrived here in Gaziantep - the culinary capital of Turkey - and as I've been going eating different foods from street vendors, NOBODY IS LETTING ME PAY FOR ANYTHING!
Turkish people are so kind and generous that when they discover that I am a tourist, they simply will not accept my money. In some cases, they aggressively hit my hand away and put my money back in my pocket. It's unbelievable.
If you guys can remember about 1.5 years ago, I made a similar video in Peshawar, Pakistan -- where nobody would accept my payment -- so this is a kind of a sequel. And now, I think you will finally start to understand that the people in this part of the world are the friendliest!
I hope this video inspires some of you to visit Turkey, it really is that amazing here.

    • 1) Prohibition of Harming Neighbour: The Prophet, (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer.’’ It was asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?’’ He said, "One whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil" (Sahih Bukhari). 2) Recommendation to treat neighbour well: The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him), said: "Jibril kept recommending me to treat my neighbour well until I thought that he would tell me to make him one of my heirs" (Bukhari: 6014). 3) Caring for your neighbours: Abu Dharr, May Allah be pleased with him, reported: The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him), commanded me thus, "O Abu Dharr! Whenever you prepare a broth, put plenty of water in it, and give some of it to your neighbours" (Sahih Muslim). 4) Co-operation with your neighbours: Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him), said: "No-one should prevent his neighbour from fixing a wooden peg in his wall." Abu Huraira said (to his companions), "Why do I find you averse to it? By Allah, I certainly will narrate it to you" (Sahih Bukhari), 5) Do not eat your full while your neighbour is hungry: The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him) says:" He is not a believer who eats his fill whilst his neighbour beside him goes hungry" (Bukhari). 6) Never scorn your neighbour’s gift: Sahih Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet, (Peace and blessings be upon him), used to say: "O Muslim women! No one should scorn the gift of a neighbour, even if it is (only) a sheep’s foot" (Bukhari: 6017). 7) Harming a neighbour may lead to Hell-fire: Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him reported: A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah! There is a woman who prays, gives charity and fasts a great deal, but she harms her neighbours with her speech (by insulting them)" He said: "She will go to hell". The man said: "O messenger of Allah! There is (another) woman who is well-known for how little she fasts and prays, but she gives charity from the dried yoghurt she makes and she does not harm her neighbours". He said: "She will go to paradise" (Ahmad, vol. 4, p. 166, Ibn Hibban, hadith no. 2054). 8) Tolerance when treating neighbours: Mutarrif said: "I heard that you (he means Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him) have said that the Prophet, (Peace and blessings be upon him), said: "Allah loves three and hates three.’" Abu Dharr said, "I do not think that I would tell lies about the Messenger of Allah." Mutarrif said, "Then who are the three whom Allah loves?" Abu Dharr (quoting the Prophet, (Peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "A man who fights for the sake of Allah, with perseverance and hoping for reward from Him, and fights until he is killed, and you find this in the Book of Allah.’ Then he recited: “Truly Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.” [al-Saff 61:4] Mutarrif asked, “Then who?” He said, “A man who has a bad neighbour who annoys and disturbs him, but he bears it with patience and forbearance until Allah ends the matter either during his lifetime or upon the death of either of them.”

  • In Germany, once me and my friends were in Turkish Döner shop. Me and one of my friends did not have cash and wanted to pay by card, but their card payment system was not working that time. Surprisingly a Turkish family stand up and paid the bill! We have asked for their phone number so that we can pay them later day, but they wouldn’t accept it! My turkish friend told us that it is very normal for turkish people and they will not accept anything from us in return! This video reminded me of the good memories and hospitality of Turkish people! They are so amazing!

I'm not Turkish but my sister in law is but like my brother lived there for 20 yrs so they met, married, and had kids over there and thus we used to go visit all the time back in the day like early 2000s. Eventually they moved to NJ bcz my sis in law got offered a job to teach at an ivy league school and my brother wanted his kids to go to upper level school in the US but Turkey especially Istanbul (bcz im basic like that ig) has a very special place in my heart.

    • I cannot describe you how much I love Greece without even being there once in my life. Every time I meet a Greek person I feel like I am finding a lost sibling. I love listening to our common songs, the dances, the food fights, little jokes between the countries, how similar we look and act, everything. One time a Greek person I met asked me if Turks hate the Greeks. I told him that would be like hating your own self. I was so surprised when a Greek friend of mine asked me if it would be safe for him to visit Turkey since it looks like our countries might end up having a war soon. Such a thing was literally never mentioned in the Turkish media (not that it is reliable, but I have never heard of such a possibility). That moment I started to question how we are portrayed elsewhere. My point is, for politicians, I guess it is helpful at times to demonize an external power to distract people from focusing on internal problems. Please don't buy that. Very glad for all the help that came from Greeks during the 1999 and 2023 earthquakes. Very happy to somewhat help with your wildfires. Very grateful to find comfort in your presence, especially when I am abroad & far away from home. Very eager to fight about "ayranaki", "baklavaki", "dolmades" and whatnot like two little kids. You are the best komsu that we could ask for. ❤
