    • Oh yeah. Thats why he's my favorite actor and he's drop dead gorgeous. No one else can be a pirate, mentally insane writer, murder, mobster, crazy candy factory owner, demon barber, greaser, indian, voice actor, pretty okay singer, rich guy, spy, etc. He fits it all and still keeps his crazy, fun personality in all of his characters. Cant wait to see this, looks interesting. He has been in some movies that i found were a waste of his talent but people have to admit even in crappy movies the man acts out the entire cast like its nothing.

This movie is great, is beautiful, is pure genius. At the end of the movie you'll find yourself thinking about everything really. To me, this is more than Oscar material, this could e the movie of my life, only future will decide it.

The concept was great, and Depp's a great actor but I don't think it was well directed and I don't think it should've been so long when some parts were just... nothing. No substance and nothing to hold our attention. That's from my perspective, at least.

    • If you really watched the movie you'd have seen that the humans panicked and destroyed him and all modern technology with him, because they feared what they didn't understand, only to realize that he was helping them. They turned humanity back to the stone age out of fear of the unknown, when he was using his nanoparticles to remove pollution from the air and remove toxins and contaminants from our water. So maybe they are telling us the future. Maybe they're trying to say "AI is scary, but we shouldn't let our fear of it push us to do something we may regret later."

  • When I think a movie looks interesting, I avoid reading any reviews or information about the movie till after I see it. That way my opinion isn't tainted before I see it. It's interesting how negative reviews I've read affect my experience of a movie. I just avoid them altogether and go into it with a fresh mindset and retain the original excitement I had. I enjoy the movie much more this way, and make my own judgments without someone else telling me what to think.

    • It's predictive programming (conditioning/priming), the loserferians have to tell you what they plan to do to you before they do it (for their spells to have more power). It matters not, that they get around this spiritual law by coding it into "entertainment". It's an opt-out situation; and if you treat it as plain old entertainment, you're unaware you are consenting to their plans. I suggest you look into the World Economic Forum, and the 4th industrial revolution, and what Klaus has to say about it. Would you like to be one of Will's worker drones? Where your autonomy could be subverted by AI (Satan and his demons)? I assure you it's very real

    • Rikhartpt I've seen very few movies that take risks artisticly and story wise. Because nowadays every sci fi movies need Michael Bay explosions to cash in. And even the 'deeper' sci-fi movies that try to take a different route fall back to very predictable roads because they don't want to disappoint anyone. This movie is very different and is quite unique compared to most sci-fi movies in recent years.

  • This film seriously could've been turned into a trilogy. Film one could've established all the characters, the threat of RIFT, Will getting shot and dying, his mind getting uploaded into a super quantum computer and then Super A.I. Will and Evelyn on the run from RIFT and heading to the small town, Clearwater. Film two could've could've picked up with Will and Evelyn arriving in Clearwater, establishing the subterranean super computer lab, RIFT attempting another attack on Will and the super computer lab and failing, Will beginning to super evolve the towns people after most are horribly wounded in the attack and then will creating a new NANO body for himself. And film three, could pick up several years later where many humans on the planet have been enhanced by Will and the world being divided and potentially starting a 3rd world war. But yeah this movie was awesome as just one film too.

    • Don't even have to watch it though, to know how it's going to end. The Johnny Depp transcendence guy is going to lose and the system is going to win. It's not like its uncommon knowledge that Hollywood won't let a singularity-formed violent criminal, especially one going anarchist terrorist level against the structure of human reality, fail. It's not even to say that independent movies are better. Although a number of the indie films pre-millennium, especially foreign ones were better. But really, nowadays independent films are just hacks going to an indie movie label to get trashier than Hollywood for a quick and easy buck (not at all unlike Hollywood). Another Hollywood movie that, to be fair, has a premise with promise. But as usual, is run into the ground with uninspired, unimaginative, predictable and cheesily cliched writing 'cause the MPAA and capitalism. There's a bunch of things I can think of off the bat of my head that's better than watching these movies. Like watching the grass grow. Or signing autographs for some random beatnik writer back in the early 60s. Or pulling weeds from the garden. Really about anything is a better use of your semi short life than watching stupid movies.

Things like, at the point where technology can manipulate life and death and the power to heal is it considered god? I could see where a lot of hardcore religious people would not like this movie just because of what it suggest. Which is the fact that technology will in fact one day exceed what we can comprehend.

If you know anything about nanotechnology you would see this isnt so far fetched and to top that this is a sci-fi movie. you wouldnt call Harry potter a bad movie because its fake. The part where he gets uploaded to the internet is a bit off sure. but who is to say that is for sure impossible? if your consciousness can be uploaded to a machine would it still be you? Thats what got me thinking. IDK what you expect from sci fi movies.

    • i think the movie told you alrdy... people dont like what they dont understand... dont like other views.. the movie seems to be build up wrong.. as example johy uploaded himself into a human.. that means hes able to live inside biologic form... hes human 100%..... so that means he was uploaded with codes that simulate him... even if hes a copy of himslef he is himself--- a smal example of materia going from one form of dimension into another.. if materia goes from this dimension into a black hole it exists 2 times... once in this dimension as destroyd materia.. and as 2 dimensional code in the black hole... is hard logic m8.. i think its a theory.. not proven bt possible.. so that would mean this "copy" is him and takes place as him.. so we see the person in many bodys but hes not gone... even if his old self is not connected to his new... he always thinks that he is what he once was and will be.. we dont know if he is one or another version of himself or if hes cuted into many personalitys... bt the movie makes clear that he always was himself, just gained knowledge and power.. his charackter changed because he saw to many things... his innocence seemed to be gone... if a smal kid deosnt understand why the doctor cuts his patients open it might think hes bad.. so did they.. they disslike it because they dont get it m8. neighter i do get it for 100% bt i like it and happy to watch something else than weedmovies or other fuckt up cheap shit. something with weight.. this movie is heavy for dumb people.

    • It's like a Nolan movie: Dull, unattractive, redundant, cold... but this one actually doesn't try to explain every single thing at the end. So, you have a movie that has all the problems your average Nolan movies has, but it doesn't make the critics/audience feel smart!!! Therefore, they must hate the movie.

  • This movie was... wow. This is the first time i've seen a movie about someone with artificial power who actually wants to heal the world and is motivated by his love for his wife. At first I really thought that Will was gone and the one inside the computer was just an emotionless, cold replica of him but I was gladly wrong. He only meant to do what's good for everybody, for the planet but... people just HAD to destroy something without even fully understanding it.

If you think you didn't notice anything strange at the end of the movie feel free to ask me :D

  • That was the best movie I have seen in years. No, it doesn't have car chases, action scenes, and big special effects. And further more, no it doesn't give you the answer to the struggle between human and technology. What it gives you is the pros and cons of what technology can do, and YOU decide what you wish to believe. There are many things shown in this movie that I disagreed with, but many others that I completely agreed with. And that, everyone has their opinions in what is wrong or right. This movie doesn't try to feed you the perfect answer on a silver plate: it let you make that decision by yourself. It wasn't meant as an action movie; it was meant as a psychological thought-provoking movie about the dilemma of technology.

    @melodierivers9457@melodierivers94578 жыл бұрын
    • +ryokuf5 ‍ I meant not as much as most action movies nowadays. Only at the very beginning and the very end there was heavy action scenes, at the terrorist attack, and then, the military attack. And though there is also special effects, it didn't took away the storytelling. The same could not be said for some action movies out there with the same special effects and action. I was just saying that it didn't lingered heavily on action scenes to make the movie appealing. :)
