And I am not even talking about the percentage of women who work even after having children (cause the numbers obviously would be much higher). I am talking about homes where women receive more money than their partners or are the only provider and because of that are responsible for paying most of the bills.

Men shouldn't have to feel pressured into persueing careers in order to sustain their families and women shouldn't be shamed for wanting to do so. • Fun facts: The two boys dancing with beyonce in the beginning of the video, are part of a group of dancers from Mozembiq, Africa with a style of dancing called Tofo Tofo. Beyonce and her team saw these guys on KZhead and tried to mimic their dance moves, but they couldn't do it exactly how the boys were dancing. Finally beyonce hired a team to look for these boys in Africa. They went and searched them.... After 4 long months they located them in a village in Africa and flew them to LA. and the rest was history. Look it up.

  • 12 years ago, this woman initiated a remarkable evolution among females that the next generation may not be aware of. However, the music, particularly Beyoncé's, was so powerful at that time that I believe it brought about a global change in society. She planted a new seed in women's minds, leading them to realize their power and strengths. Younger people might feel how smart they are now, thinking they already possess this knowledge. But the truth is, this is what the previous generation is passing on to them. It is the result of the incredible female revolution sparked by Beyoncé's movement, and it is not the same today. Although she is now living her life more than ever, she has done her job. Today's younger generation, with women being more independent and emancipated, is also a result of her incredible contribution and the implementation of this strong ideology of empowering women. Then came Ariana, with songs like "God is a Woman," and JLo with "I Ain't Your Mother", most recently Miley Cyrus with her "Flowers"...However, Beyoncé laid the foundation for this movement and demonstrated how powerful her songs have been and continue to be. She really mentally empowered women like any other woman in history, I believe.

    • Common knowledge: The two African men in front of her actually choreographed the Whole thing. So the credit of her dancing goes to the two men in the beginning of the video. SHE even says so in the "making of this video" interview. It can be found here on youtube. They literally didnt know her when she requested for them. It's a great vid. Please check it out and give credit where it's due, like she did.

  • aw, poor men! There's a song saying that women are strong... how awful that must be for you. I feel so bad. Even though it's not like males were oppressed and limited for centuries. It's not as if they were mistreated, seen as inferior, and made to lessen themselves. And I don't recall men being treated as objects either. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also don't remember men being denied of their basic human rights! But hey, if you want to drown yourself in self-pity and be all butthurt for no reason at all, go right ahead. EDIT: Of course I am aware that there are men who have been mistreated as well as, but it is undeniable that women were oppressed more than men. I just feel that it is stupid and unnecessary to get upset over a song about female empowerment when female empowerment is what we need.

    • Women in America, at least, don't face these problems anymore. We go to school, we work, we have rights. So many important discoveries have been made by women. Computers, for example. And women are the ones who have the kids. You are alive because of a woman. In some ways, women do run the world.
