  • incase anybody needed to know the creative notebook was the only thing that didnt try to physically hurt them, even saying "lets not be creative again" almost protecting the main cast telling them not to reach out and stay on their side of the road

    • That's a nice idea! I personally think that the notebook was trying to control them so they wouldn't want to be creative, like if the notebook was trying to scare them out of being themselves, I think your idea is cool though! :)

  • In addition to reflecting Sesame Street archetypes in their species, each character in DHMIS reflects Sesame Street in the type of puppet that they are. Red guy is a full body puppet like Big Bird. Yellow guy is a hand puppet with arms controlled by sticks, or “stick-hand”, like Bert. Duck is a hand puppet with arms controlled by someone’s actual hand, or “live-hand”, like Ernie. These are the three specific types of puppets used on Sesame Street and most other Muppet productions.

    • One of my friends brought glitter to school for my birthday, and when we got to a block where she wasn't in our class we stole her glitter, put in on each others' faces and hair, and in the process we also got glitter all over the hallway, on our desks, in tye bathrooms, and basically anywhere we went for the next couple of days

  • When red guy goes onto the stage to perform his thing, he uses hand puppets of duck and yellow guy. If it was before everything happened, how did he know the exact actors that would be on the show with him?     • Honestly I think this is the creative insanity of artists. They make crazy shit and never say if any one theory or idea is right, but you have snobs on all sides thinking their theory is right. For all we know the creators could have no plan period, and that goes for most art imo.

    • in the first episode, red guys first appearance, red guy’s first line is “that sounds pretty boring.” whenever you go to episode 6, and red guy is talking about the idea for the show, with the file, the first comment he got on the idea was “that sounds pretty boring.” to summarize, his first line that we hear from him is the first comment he heard about his show

  • I'm kinda upset that he didn't go into more detail. Like how the "dark themes" are things into today's world, like intrusive thoughts (episode 1), the destruction of the world (episode 2), cults (episode 3), mind control (episode 4), cannibalism (episode 5), and night terrors (episode 6). Plus how he didn't go more into depth about June 19th. Like the missing poster in episode 3. Unfortunately I watched him rant about a hat and other shows for about 3 minutes. He kinda overcomplicated the points not to be focusing on but did give out some facts I didn't know before. So overall 2/3 bears 🐻🐼🐻‍❄️

  • I never realized it was all in one day, each episode a different part of the day. First they are eating breakfast and learn about creativity, then they go to watch tv and learn about time, then they go on a picnic for lunch and yellow guy learns about love, then they go home and learn about computers, then they eat dinner and duck gets canned, and finally yellow guy goes to bed at the end of the day. So at the end when the time changes to the 20th, it was the next day. I never noticed all of this happened in one day.

    • Nitrotopia but maybe you have. Pigeons don't fledge (leave the nest) until they are almost adult-sized and those that don't know what to look for can't tell a baby pigeon from an adult one. In the case of Woodpigeons (the fat ones that you see on your lawn), the young ones are those without a white flash on the neck.

  • When I was little my brother took me to his room and showed me the first half of episode 1. He then paused it and asked if I wanted to keep watching. I thought it was cute so I said yes. He said okay then unpaused it, left, and locked me in his room with the terrifying (at the time) video. And no, I didn't know how to stop it. Gotta love older siblings. I was screaming, crying and banging on the door. He only let me out when mom made him. He's such a good brother 🙂

  • i would categorize it as a "Gumball" style show. Animation can change styles in the blink of an eye, going from western calarts to simple cutesy japanese animation to puppets to cgi and anime. sometimes it will have all those things on the screen at once, with a cgi t-rex, an animated icecream girl, a claymation ball of clay, and the upside down face of a live action woman. gumballian animation doesn't bother categorizing itself, because doing so would exclude a thousand amazing ideas

  • Jokes on your Matt, I did watch this with my kids! But for real, this is kind of a good show to watch with your kids if they like creepy and weird stuff. Both of mine are that way, so I like to find stuff they can indulge this in that’s not too much and is a good supervised watch. DHMIS is kind of perfect for that. It’s not too creepy, and it engaging enough that it’s fun to discuss afterward what some of the symbolism might mean

    • I was basically raised by the fandom and these characters as they we're an extremely important part of my childhood. It helped me when I was down and it keep me waiting with anticipation for the next episode. I remember being so excited on June 19th when they uploaded the 6th episode! Father's Day really isn't the best for me so having that there and being able to escape into a world with some of my favorite characters really helped:) That doesn't mean I forgive them for the terrors they caused me due to the 5th episode. Robin(green guy fandom name for those who don't know) is my favorite character and seeing that as a kid-...I still have nightmares 👁️👁️

  • I think it’s the mind of a traumatized child, I think that’s why it’s made to look like a fever dream of Sesame Street, I think that the kid saw something they will never forget. That will change their view of the world, hence being able to see that there just a tv show. Also the “don’t hug me I’m scared” is what they think. So I think that when a child’s mind is poisoned by horrific memories even things like child friendly television can be turned sour:(
