I Made the Winter Update in Minecraft
Following up on my scary update, I just had to do something winter-themed. This update contains fun new mechanics, structures, and scary new creatures in the winter landscape.

  • Adding mobs to a winter update is counter intuitive. The focus should be on the weather itself, the struggle to grow food, the dependency on wood to keep yourself warm. Don't Starve does this pretty well, while also having winter-specific mobs.

  • Seems interesting, one thing that would be cool is if you made a combined update pack meaning this update plus the Horror one. Of course some things would have to be changed as compatibilities and outdated mods ofc. One nice thing that comes from this *if you keep adding updates to the modpack pack "temp name"* you could call it the Minecraft overhaul update or something similar as it would encompass a whole lot of updates working well with each other. *Note, two mods I would change/remove just for gameplay sake would be the one that adds James (either replace him with a dif mob or remove) and change the weather from perma winter to a seasons mod as compatibility for future "I made the _ update in minecraft".

  • One suggestion I have is the Aquamirae mod, it adds a new structure exclusive to the iceberg biomes with a ton of cool stuff inside it.

  • 2 minutes into the video and I can already say this is probbaly one of the best edited and produced Minecraft video i've seen man, and it only has 10K Views??? Not even 1k likes??? Outrageous tbh Props to you man, the modpack looks awesome, though if you wanna make it even harder you can add sanity :)

  • I created a similar pack to play. A few suggestions for you is to add: - real darkness (to make night time and caves completely dark) -cloak and dagger (allows you to hide in the shadow and overall be more stealth) - sparse structure (or something like this which reduces the structures spawn rate so you really have to explore) - parcool (a parkour mod to have more agility) - xtra arrows (this will allow you to create different types of arrow but the one you will need the most is the torch arrow) - enderman and creeper overhaul - alex's mobs - better combat and fabled weaponry (new combat system and different vanilla weapons) -tectonic (overhaul of world generation) - weather storm and tornadoes (it isn't a forzen hell without blizzard and tornadoes ruining your life) If you want you can swap terralith with let'sdo blooming nature if you want to keep vanilla biomes more accessible.

  • I recommend Tough As Nails over Cold Sweat. It's easily configurable too. It's what I'm using for my winter themed pack. It's also in Frozenopolis if you've played that.

    • Thank you! Actually super simple green screen. Basically made a green screen wall in minecraft, used Replay mod to record me breaking the wall and then "Ultra Key" the wall in premiere pro. Hope the makes sense haha

    • @@Apollo-official Yes, completely! I do video editing for Minecraft youtubers, but I love learning new techniques every opportunity I can. I had a feeling that it might have been a greenscreen using lime concrete blocks or something similar... but the animation was just SO crisp and good that I thought it might have been something else like a Blockbench animation. Well done!

  • You should have added my mod Whispers of the Wendigo to this modpack. It would be the best thing to fit into the snowy landscape and would add an element of fear. I saw you already had a wendigo in there but mine is just a perfect fit for this too.
