Well - That was unexpected! TRIUMPH SCRAMBLER NOT what I Expected!
Triumph Plymouth gave me this Street Scrambler 900 to take out for a hour or so whilst they did work on my Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. So I took the opportunity to record a review of the bike for you giving you my honest thoughts as we go. Remember this is an impromptu Review and so I had not researched numbers and facts for you before the review ride. So come on the road with me on the Triumph Street Scrambler 900 and we will see what we think....

  • It's not fast, the suspension is basic, the brakes are just ok, the tank is tiny and there's no wind protection. I love mine, and find that it's best for chilling out on B-roads and riding between 45-55mph. That might not sound great for a 900cc bike but it's pure motorcycling pleasure rather than screaming along trying to go as fast as possible. I have toured on it; took it to France last year, and chose the little roads and villages rather than the autoroutes and had a magnificent time (though did have a couple of close calls on the fuel range). Just didn't hurry. I wouldn't choose it for long motorway runs, but then I wouldn't opt for a big tourer to potter round b-roads and do a bit of green laning :-)

    • Fantastic feedback thanks. We love the back roads finding all the hidden gems and seeing the small towns and villages on our travels, we try to avoid motorways at all costs. How do you get on with carrying your luggage with no panniers?

  • I have a 2019, it has plenty of power and will go as fast as your skill level allows. The torque is the highlight of the engine, especially useful on mountain roads, lots of pull. I’ve overtaken cars on the freeway, when needed….but it’s best hitting the back roads with 55 MPH speed limits or less. A great all-around bike that draws a lot of attention for it’s looks. The upright seating position encourages good posture, I’m 6’3 and very comfortable on mine. The mileage is good, I’m getting 180 miles to the tank, costs me about $8 to fill it up with premium. Nice wide handlebars and a smooth transition, I don’t think I’ve ever missed a gear. Feels very stable. IMO, the best of all the Bonneville’s because of it’s performance and looks.

  • I have a 2019 model, last summer I traveled to Norway , sailed to Kristiansand and.traveld to the Lofoton islands and back to Scotland around 5000k .The extras I put on the bike were a high screen and pannier.rack boath sides . Had a great trip and it just goes to show it.can be done on a none tourer.

    • That sounds just awesome, Norway is on our list to do too. Your absolutely right you can tour on any machine provided we respect the limitations of each machine. Which panniers did you fit to the bike? Is there anything we should know about riding to Norway?

  • I'm fortunate enough to have a fully faired road bike for high speed long distance stuff, a pukka dirt bike for off road green laning and a Street Scrambler. For me, that's exactly where the SS sits in the market. Great for town work and general hooning around with the odd longer jaunt, the looks are a bonus😀👍. Of course, you could do long runs or take it off tarmac if you're brave enough but neither are it's forte. If I had to choose just one bike this probably wouldn't be it but it's all down to personal taste and what you need from a bike.👍

  • Im currently on a roadtrip in Baja Mexico, with my 2022 street scrambler. Love it. Its not the best motorcycle for touring but it does the job. Fast enough to get around. Im looking to buy a Tiger 1200 explorer for longer roadtrips but i would keep my scrambler.

  • You 🇬🇧 are very fortunate to get loaner bikes. No dealers I'm aware of here in the 🇺🇸 have them and when you can get test rides at dealers they are very short...5 miles or so.

    @dustytriumph@dustytriumph Жыл бұрын
    • Wow how are you suppose to know which bikes you’d like to invest your money in if you can’t go for a test ride? Imagine spending that money on a new bike to find you do not like it….

      @ontheroadadventure@ontheroadadventure Жыл бұрын
    • @@ontheroadadventure I have been test riding bikes but not all dealers offer them and when they do they are on a short predetermined insurance company approved loop. The dealer where I bought my last 2 bikes and am considering trading to my 3rd offers them but on a short 4-5 mile loop. The other dealers I've been to it's the same when/if they offer them. Since the bikes are brand new and for sale they can't let them accumulate many miles. My dealer had to stop test rides last year when 3 different bikes were wrecked on test rides. I test rode a bike a couple days ago but the loop is too short to really know if I want to trade my Trident for it. If I could test for and hour or 2 that would tell me more.

      @dustytriumph@dustytriumph Жыл бұрын
    • wow- i wish i could help you, you really do need some ride time in to make a decision i think. Did you go for it in the end

      @ontheroadadventure@ontheroadadventure10 ай бұрын
    • @@ontheroadadventure For now I'm keeping the Trident. One of my visits to the Dealer while I was getting a rear tire or a quickshifter installed there were 2 guys there that could have taken at least a short test ride loop or 2 but they were buying Tridents without ever having ridden a mile.
