Townscaper, early-access something-or-other, all about building a town. It's fun, it's cute, but is it really worth your $7?

I keep coming back to it. Such a charming little gem. But it would really be something if the city could sprout inhabitants.
IKR!!!!!!! IT NEEDS INHABITANTS!!!!!
I feel like this is a great concept piece that will lead to a legit game in the future.
I mean it’s 5$ and I got 20 hours of playtime I think it’s worth it
This had such lovely, chill vibes and was a joy to watch. Definitely looking forward to more like it! I could use some gaming rec/review/analysis with this kind of quiet, nuanced evaluation.
Thank you so much! We're definitely hoping to do more like this
I love Townscaper. I recently bought it for 2 bucks. Totally worth it. had I known about it before I would have paid 10 bucks without thinking twice. It is great fun, and very relaxing. It eats up your time when you allow it, because you forget time exists. I already spent 18 hours, and I am planning to spend many more hours fooling around with it in the future. I most definitely want Townscaper 2. I want more building styles, I want people walking around, I want to be able to have more say in what happens when I play certain blocks in certain places. I want to be able to place half sized blocks, blind walls, choose different types of windows, doors and arches etc etc. I also would like to create, or choose different shapes of grids. When they decide to release such a version, I will pay gladly for it, because this is awesome software! Buy this program! It is a true gem!
nice, really compact very easy to digest! did not feel rushed, it did not feel like a 3 minute video
I just bought this today and i hope he adds more but I think it's worth it for me since it was only $6 and I just graduated yesterday so I want to spend the summer doing nothing
I think the developers of the 'game' started to do something just to test it, then it become good and interesting, but they had no idea what to do with it, so they may slowly add things when they get inspiration or good ideas, I do not think there is any humans living in in the cities we build, maybe some crafty moles, maybe we some day can go and visit other towns when friends are online... there is so many fun things Townscaper can be, it is just interesting to follow it.
games that sprout from testing and small ideas are usually super great, the Totally Accurate games came from ragdoll testing
Crack up about Auckland! This game looks so pleasant! But it's kind of sad there's no... Real purpose...
Its purpose is to have no purpose.
Why don't they include optional missions and challenges ? Seems like a missed opportunity no?
Nice review :D
