    • Christian Wolfsteiner HOLD ON LISTEN- I know a lot about aviation, so let me tell you, even if it managed to destroy the airliners electric supply, the aircraft has a backup system called the RAT - Ram Air Turbine, which generates enough electricity through air to keep the basic systems of the aircraft up and running, just the essentials enough to get the aircraft to its destination safely. Did you think engineers don't think everything through? They know an aircraft can lose electricity through lightning, methane and other stuff, they have thought this through and are prepared for it. Just wanted to inform you guys :)

  • What he doesn’t realize is the port runs to the navigation system in the GTR directly and they will have to pull the entire Infotainment System out to get the port to work if you want to keep it OEM.

    • Yeah. I don't give a shit about a GTR because I'll never have one. What I want to see is them plugging this thing into a 400,000 dollar piece of farm equipment, or a Case IH Steiger.   • De-solder the USB killer lines from the data pins. Solder on some external wires that run to the outside of the device on the back. Plug the USB killer into a power bank. You now have a portable mini taser for sneaking up on people and zapping them when they least expect it.

    • Most Airbag systems doesn't connect to any of the entertainment/accessory system like the USB port. I mean why the fuck would you connect a USB port to a bloody airbag? To deploy it manually so that you can replace it for like $200? It's a fucking GTR, you would expect Nissan to put a failsafe there.

    • Yeah that was an extremely stupid thing to do. Luckily though that would've only ever affected the entertainment system. If it were to fry anything else it would've had to send a signal through the entertainment system, back to the battery and then to other electronics which is usually protected via fuses and relays. If any safety devices were affected then some warning lights would've turned on in the instrument cluster. Still that's a very stupid thing to do if you don't have the knowledge in automotive electrics.

    • fuses will not help at all, because they protect against high current, not voltage. USB Killer has low current and high voltage, that's why arc jump all over circuitst destroying them permanently

  • some cases its a circuit protection feature. needs to be no power to it 2 min or battery disconnected 5 min to reset it. it MIGHT not be actually fried but faulted a breaker or the power management system to cut power. look in to it theres ways to try to reset them.

Hence the tons of clickbait titles, pointless videos, and all the bad things that have been happening more and more on KZhead those last years. Or did you think that risking to damage a $100,000 car and a brand new video game console was something really meaningful/interesting/useful? - One person sees between 800 and 3000 ads per day in average (search on Google for studies about that). Isn't that enough?

  • For the Switch, the USB killer should have been plugged into the dock. I didn't think the Switch itself would have any kind of protection against such a device, but the dock might have. Since the dock has a USB hub, it might have just killed the dock and not the switch itself.
