A game so complex that your head will spin | Nepo vs Naka | FIDE Candidates 2024

2024 ж. 12 Сәу.
88 930 Рет қаралды

It is well known that when White opens the game with 1.e4, Nepo more often than not responds with the Petroff. And this allows his opponents to prepare really deeply. This is exactly what Nakamura did in this game. He came so well prepared that Nepo was put under immense pressure. And then came the moment where Nepo began sacrificing. First a piece, then another and before you knew it, it was completely out of hand! Check out this battle between Nakamura and Nepo with commentary by IM Sagar Shah

    • That's a "4 aane ka trap" and doesn't work at this level. No GM would be this fool to take the knight and fall into this trap which is more than obvious. In fact, white will move the king removing the pin and the knight will then be threatened which would result in black losing a tempo

    • Thats a big problem in all the streams. I have watched them all. These people dont have regards for the basics. We the audience want to see what the players play, not some 1500 elo commentators showing off their stockfish or other assisted proficiency. Chalo thik hai, discuss karo, analyse karo. Sab karo. But dont ignore the actual moves at least.

    • because after ne5 Qc7, white can play f3 and the knight is trapped. If it goes to f6, white gets the bishop for free. If bc7 is played, black can play bxe5 if the night goes there, and after dxe5, the c5 pawn is hanging. Hope this helps!

With the introduction of engine blunders in opening are less as compared to the previous era but in the middle game possibilities are close to infinite which no players can prepare through the engine and memorize.
