  • A bit of trivia for you. The Everton shop you visted is one of two in the city. This one is called Everton One, the other is called Everton Two. Named this way not for the obvious reason, but because the second shop is housed inside Liverpool's new shopping precinct, Liverpool One. Therefore, the shop's address is Everton 2 Liverpool 1. :)

    • Haha great location then 😅 I only noticed the name of the shop after getting home and watching back the footage - the bag has both Everton One & Everton Two written on it. Good to see them getting the money in! Will Everton Stadium have “Everton Three”⁉️

    • Pity Goodison is in L4, so the current address of the stadium shop is Everton 1 Liverpool 3. It does get slightly better for Toffees with the new stadium, if they open a new store it will be Everton 3, Liverpool 3.

  • Good video, watched the Anfield one too. Regarding everton leaving Anfield. The story is that the everton directors, which included john houlding the owner of Anfield, were all drinkers and gamblers. Nothing wrong with that but most of them ended up owing houlding a lot of money through gambling debts. Whether they refused to pay up or were very slow in paying we dont know but houlding put the rent up in an attempt to get the money he was owed. The directors had a meeting and decided not to pay the extra rent and everton left Anfield. Houlding was left with a ground but no team. He decided to form his own team and brought all the players down from scotland. They were known as the team of "macs"

      @RysFootyParadise@RysFootyParadise7 ай бұрын
    • What's this absolute bollocks about gambling debts. From the Goodison Park wiki page 'In the 1890s, a dispute about how the club was to be owned and run emerged with John Houlding, Anfield's majority owner and Everton's Chairman, at the forefront.[3] Houlding disagreed with the club's committee initially disagreeing about the full purchase of the land at Anfield from minor land owner Mr Orrell escalating into a principled disagreement of how the club was run. Two such disagreements included Houlding wanting Everton to sell only his brewery products during an event and for the Everton players to use his public house The Sandon as changing room facilities.[8] The most famous of the disagreements concerns the level of increased rent Everton were asked to pay. In 1889, Everton paid £100 to Houlding in rent which by the 1889-90 season had risen to £250.[8] Everton had to pay for all works and stands. The dispute escalated to a rent of £370 per year being demanded. In the complicated lead up to the split in the club, the rent dispute is too simplistic to be singled out as the prime cause. The dispute was compounded by many minor disputed points.'
