It's easy to make a car loud, it's much harder to make it sound good 😅 although some engines have it easier.
Cant do any of these in germany

Cannot overstate the importance of doing research on exhausts before working on yours. It’ll save you money and time since many kits won’t allow you to return them if they’re installed, even if it’s for a few minutes. Don’t be afraid to go to a muffler shop with some pipes and get a custom exhaust done. Adding on X or H pipes, removing mufflers and resonators and getting nice tips is probably the most cost effective approach to an exhaust. Just unbolting from the cat back will not only give you a broken sounding exhaust but also can jeopardize your health since the fumes come up right into the cabin. Also straight pipes aren’t the solution to everything(I’m looking at you NA 4 bangers). Sometimes resonators and free flowing mufflers are required on cars, especially non turbo low displacement engines. It isn’t about being the loudest, but sounding the best. Also deleting cats can add more sound to your exhaust but be wary since in many modern cars, the O2 sensors built into the cats give important information to the ECU on how the car is running and if you get rid of those the car may not run correctly. Furthermore in many states you need catalytic converters to pass emissions tests so do your research before taking a Dremel to your cats. In short, think before you saw off your exhaust.
Well said
Can you do my English essay assignments for me😂.
😂 think before you saw off your exhaust 😂
I like how it smells when the fumes be coming through the vents tho lmao
Bosozoku exhausts FTW
Easiest way is to get a cold air intake and chop off the middle muffler and put on some thicker pipes that you found at a junkyard, always works amazing
Personally I wouldn’t get rid of any sound deadening material in my car. If you want to hear your exhaust better, make your exhaust louder instead of making everything louder. Think about it: if everything’s louder, will you really hear your exhaust any more distinctly?
But do you really want all your neighbor's to hate you?
Unless you are tracking the car it is a bad idea lol otherwise when you get on course chip roads you will get droning inside the cabin and it will drive you nuts if you remove sound deadening

From my years of modding cars I learned that exhausts that increase in size from front to back makes the best sound. I just did the exhaust on my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. It has a cammed 4.6L 2 valve V8 in it. I started with a cold air intake and then shorty headers. Then I deleted the two rear catalytic converters. The factory exhaust is ridiculously small at 2" diameter so I kept it that small at the front with a 2" h-pipe. Installed Jones Exhaust Flowpack one chamber mufflers. The tail pipes are 2 5" and the exhaust tips out the back is 3.5" to create a magnifying effect. The sound of the cam is the icing on the cake.
The 4.6 sounds good with just about any aftermarket exhaust. Think it's one of the best sounding motors
@@chrisfreimiller4878 yes the 4.6 sounds amazing
Changing mufflers and tips is the best way to change how your car/truck sounds, specially if you live in a state where putting headers on your emission controlled vehicle is illegal (California). This video is honestly awesome. Makes it understandable to someone like me. I haven’t really been into working on cars and trucks much until I started driving last year. Did a few small jobs on my first truck and fell inl love with working on my truck in my spare time. I just dont know much about it so I watch videos likethis one.
Just run your exhaust into your cab so you can hear it inside instead of outside.
Yeah and get it as close as possible to yer cranium
resonators are based on the theory of expansition chambers relative to two strokes, they help pull the exhaust during valve over lap, but if you have a high flow muffler the resonator is just more weight to the exhaust
The Lexus LFA has to be the vehicle with one of the sexiest exhaust sounds.😩
THE Sexiest exhaust note
I owned a Dodge Durango 99 4.7 V8 and I just took the exhaust of and left the catalytic converter on. Great sound! I owned a V6 Chevy 4.3 1500 87 and had just a angled pipe to the side and great sound too!
Don’t mistake the sound of the wastegate for the intake! Intake and headers should be done together for best results then exhaust as soon possible. Maybe get the manifold ported.. x-pipe then finally the tune..
Turbo flutter isn't necessarily guaranteed when using a turbo. It depends what kind of valve you have. Blow off valves cause flutter. Diverter valves are mostly silent.
Got a Flowmaster Delta 40 Series on my Rolla 9th Gen and I love it so much.

i have a question and hope someone can help, I had 2 mufflers installed on my car, and had it in a dual outlet form instead of the single, point is, when i get to about 3k-4k RPMS it sounds a little quieter then when at 2k-3k, the vehicle is a 2007 pontiac grand prix 3.8L and the mufflers i have is the flowmaster 40 series 2.25in/out
Love that the stock videos are of much more modified cars than just the mod mentioned

I got a Borla exhaust on my 2014 mustang I hit 4k rpms on a backroad going to my girls house yesterday and I was about a mile away at this point and she could hear the engine roar from her house clearly 😮💨🔥
I have a 99 VW Passat V6 stick what do you recommend to make it sound more exotic. Sounds great now just want same sound but louder. Love your show!
I had my full exhaust upgraded on my '05 sebring (2.4l i4) from the after the cat for less than $400. Resonator deleted, 2.5 inch piping (originally 2.25 inch), and a dynomax ultraflo ss muffler with a 3 inch tip, and while it doesnt sound badass like a wrx or turbo-4 of some sort, she sounds pretty damn good for a 4-banger. :) A buddy of mine from the military bought a ~'05 cavalier that had a 4 or 5 inch muffler that scraped the lip of his driveway every time, it sounded okay and he called his car "buzz bomber" lol.
before engine swapping, I'm just using an aftermarket muffler first hoping it won't be too loud for my neighbourhood though
99% of oem air systems on a na engine already has a high flow intake system yes its fugly but it already pulls more cold air in instead of a hot engine bay a true cold air intake pulls air from a cold place like a weal well or right behind the bumper
My car breathes from an almost flat plastic tube that barely clears the exhaust headers and goes over the valve cover, i guess it was the 1%
That 5 cyl rs3 at the start sounds awesome
My Volvo c30 T5 actaully has a great air intake system and I run a performance filter. Straight pipes don’t sound ideal but if you add a borla resonated tip/tips it sounds better.
u just showed one of my dreams at just the starting of the video, well that's amazing and ur background image is another one.
Thanks for the advice because I wanted more rasp lol
Does putting air intake need you to tune the ECU?

Thanks for pointing out my 98 Wrangler. Edit: I did headers a cat delete and a straight through muffler
Louder doesn’t mean better. There’s so many “handmade” custom builds that sound loud and awful, annoying people around. it’s terrible, there is no reason for that on city’s roads.

Be sure to do your research on cold intake, some models require a tune like the WRX or you will damage engine, worse case blow your engine.
not me being a fan boy seeing chrisfix's video in there for my e34 i removed the resonators but kept everything stock, which gave me the sound i like, not loud but gave it a bit more loudness but alot of raspiness. you can hear the change of the volume when you floor it. absoulutly tickels my guts from happiness

looking for recommendations, I have a 2008 Dodge charger it already has a full intake system, but I am looking for a good exhaust system
Honestly I think a drop in filter is the way to go with an intake. Any horsepower gains are so negligible it doesn’t matter. Just a waste of money IMO
nice one!
What would you recommend on an 2007 Acura TL Type S ? I love the sound of my car, but sometimes Id like it a little bit louder haha. Is it a good option to delete the muffler?
I have a bugutti it sounds so good thanks
See small cars are the opposite. You want more sound insulation to be able to hear the more of the music and less of the road noise or the roaring engine at 4000 rpm at 80 mph.
I have a 2.4l alero and the intake is fairly far away so all I had to do was buy a bit of tubing and a filter. With all of my autozone credit the price was only $50
I am a trained car mechanic and performance intakes and exhausts WILL only increase horse power if you remap the cars ecu and they will cause the car to lose power without it as the ecu will pull power to protect the engine as it doesn't understand why it is getting more air into the engine and get rid of the exhaust gases and a few years ago I ended up racing another vauxhall corsa ( mines was a stock 1999 1.0L (3 cylinder 973cc engine) against a 1.4L) and they had put on a performance intake and exhaust and no engine mapping and I beat them
Just got a big boz exhaust on my 2008 honda accord v6.. sounds great!

6:36 very irresponsible to suggest deleting the convertor on a street driven car
6:33 I'm gonna be honest, though it's true a cat delete can make a huge difference I'd never be caught advising doing it to get more noise. Making it louder shouldn't be done at the cost of emissions, ever.

I wanna make my 2011 ford ranger a little bit louder and sound better. I don’t want it so loud that it’s annoying to everyone but I want it where it does make a difference. The only thing is I don’t know anything about cars and have no clue what to do to make it louder for cheap. I’m only 16 and trying to save money so something les than 200 would be nice. If u have any advice please let me know.
NiC3 video Awesome
i have a 2004 bmw 330ci , im trying to unlock the full potential. any recommendations ?
Just grab some autozone cherry bombs along with a cheap muffler combo. It will make it sound good. Then change the exhaust tip to one that suites your needs. For a single tube system it shouldn't cost more then 100 to do yourself or maybe even 80 if your smart with it. I recomend chasing performance before you try to make it sound nice.
FYI if you change anything from the headers to the cats, you will have to have an engine tuner modify the programming inside your cars ECU if you have a newer vehicle. In some states this is illegal, and if you don't pass emissions standards it's illegal everywhere (EPA) (some states don't check, others do). All of this WILL COST $$$$. if you want cheap sound, stay behind the cats.
in the case of making a cheap good sounding car the peugeot 206 owners have it good with no header muffling and only either 1 resonator or 1 cat and a muffler
As someone with a e46 m3 in cali, with the cats put as part of the headers, 100-200 would be god sent lol
I love the fact you put a clip of some guys welding a muffler in without any eye protection other than them squinting. lmao

i just love how his background is just a 2jz supra in the start😂😂 point=cz it sounds good (edit=point)
Do you think it’ll work on a 07 hyundai sonata
Adding a intake will not and please listen as a I repeat, will not add turbo flutter (compression surge), adding a intake will make your turbo blow off louder and sound cooler but won't add flutter. In some vehicles flutter is bad on the turbo causing premature problems as well.
No one understands your reply ;it makes too much sense
Best Cheap (I believe it was like 30 bucks) muffler that I personally love is a Glasspack (Cherry bomb, I also got the 26 Inch one so be weary of the different sizes!) I have it on my 02 Ford exploder (Yes I'm aware that's cursed as fuck) and it just has the v6 in it. it sounds the best when I pull from a stop after its been idle for a second or two. Back pressure makes it sound louder. For me, Its perfect! Its not too loud and doesn't piss off everybody. Its also got the added perk of people turning heads :). Forgot to mention that those head turning people aren't saying "wow that sounds good!" no no no no no. its "why is that explorer so god damn loud?" or "Who the hell puts a modified exhaust on that shitbox?" but its funny none the less. Anyways! if you want to hear a loud exhaust but not too obnoxious, I recommend the Glasspack :)

So I just bought a $1000 exhaust system for my v6 camaro, hoping it would be loud and its barely louder than the stock exhaust! How can I easily make it louder?
I bought a $200 cat back exhaust system for my G35 cuz the previous owner completely removed the old exhaust and it sounded like absolute garbage. Its pretty quiet now, basically like stock which is too bad but the car only costed me 3 grand so I'm not not about to shell out half that cost just for it to sound good. Its not bad tho for a really cheap system that came brand new all dented in a ripped box from china.
