A server is actually a computer system that provides a service to other computers.
These "other" computers are called client computers. So basically, a server computer serves information to other computers.
Clients can connect to the server through the internet or in a local area network.

  • Guys, I need a help. I found someone to build a Wordpress website but he said I have to make a server account for a Wordpress website. if not, I might lose my datas or can be easily hacked. However, when I watch tutorials how to make a Wordpress, it simply says I need a domain. there are a lot, like bluehost, or Godaddy and many more. Here is the confusing part, first, I don't understand the difference between host and server when it comes to building a website. Second, why do I need a server while on the internet doesn't say such thing. can you help please whether I trust the guy or the tutorial on KZhead? do you think I should build my Wordpress website according to tutorial? Lastly, does a server help with a website speed and safety? thank you
