3BP is one of the smartest sci fi series in a long time.
The Battle of Darkness, The Droplet, the WallBreakers, and the revelation of the Dark Forest… I really hope they renew the show. It’s such a treat for 3 Body Problem fans to get a loyal adaptation from Tencent as well as a well executed reimagining from Netflix.

Actually loved this western version of the 3 body problem pretty damn good. Though watch mojo should be a bit more truthful about some of these points. Cause some insane stuff happens especially the alien known as singer and Jin screwing himanity. Also sophon ehhhhhhh well Australia

LOVED the books! This season one is a great adaptation imo. I like that its switching things up a little bit to keep it fresh. Season 2 is going to be INSANE

@@jakeraught4939Considering what they have, the Tencent series is pretty well made and grounded versus Netflix over the top production. I like both as each has something to offer like I enjoy Coca-Cola one day and Pepsi on another.

The Chinese version is really good too, though slower paced.
@@jakeraught4939 Because they don’t have the budget like Hollywood, however, with what they have, they didn’t skimp out on where it’s needed, and the Judgement episode is equally on par with Netflix minus the children. The first season was also somewhat grounded in reality versus the fantastical elements introduced by Netflix.

I read the books last year…. I LOVED THE NETFLIX SERIES EQUALLY!!!! Netflix did beautifully imo… I watched the Chinese version of the show on Tencent, but found it to be soooooo drawl out (30 hour long episodes) and not as deep in characters as the Netflix show….
Go for books as Sophons will not allow to get this show renewed for season 2
The piece of "paper" event is my #1, though I have no idea how they could visually pull it off without going bankrupt.. Despite being treated to some truly wild experiences in science fiction, I had never read anything like that before..

I tried listening to the audiobooks of these but I need to get better at the Chinese names, I couldn't follow too well
Yeah Chinese names kinda sound like shit
Give it time, what I did was give them nicknames, Chang Xi = rocket lady, Luo Ji = Ji unit, Yun Tianming = brain boy etc. eventually I remember them all

I hope Netflix green lights the next season. Once they do it will still take quite awhile to film so we are looking at at least two years if they’d decide today.

@@jakeraught4939 because Netflix cancels the good shows and keeps the bad ones going for way too long. I hope they renew it so bad, but we have been let down so many times. Not to mention how the showrunners handled the last big project they did...
@@hauntedtravelers the show runners gave us 4 seasons of the best television ever when they had source material. in this series, the source material is finished. they’re excellent at adaptations, not so much at creating an ending to an intricate, unfinished story. so i don’t think we have anything to worry about on that front, considering this series is finished.

Overall I liked the show, but didn't love it. The casting and characters are so, so unlikable that it took too much away. I hope the characters are better in season 2
I thought it was silly that they picked a Chinese general when China has not waged any wars in so long like did he do good in school or something. I am happy with the adaptation because the books do sound a bit too convoluted and boring
Working my way through the third book now. Already read the first two, but damn it gets dark! I hope they keep the spirit of all of this. EDIT: Pun intended, I guess lol
