The beauty of Nardwuar's interviews is that he give these artists the opposite of what the mainstream media brings. Where it would usually be about some mistake they made or how much money they make or their personal dating life or perosnal troubles, he asks them about their interests, their past before making it big, showing that they're people too. He would even make it a point to say "you're *insert artist*..." where, yes it would be hard to get these information about them, but not impossible to do actual research, the media just doesn't want to focus on that.
